Miracle Worker: Obama Matches 214 Years Worth of US Debt in Less Than 24 Months
**Written by Doug Powers
President Obama, assisted by his willing accomplices in Congress who have helped swipe the national credit card like giddy teenage girls at the mall with daddy’s Visa, have made history.
From CNS News:
It’s official: The Obama administration has now borrowed $3 trillion, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.
It took from 1776, when the United States became an independent country, until 1990, the year after the Berlin Wall fell signaling victory in the Cold War, for the federal government to accumulate a total of $3 trillion in debt, according to the Treasury Department. It only took from Jan. 20, 2009, the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated, until Oct. 15, 2010, for the Obama administration to add $3 trillion to the federal debt.
The overall debt of the federal government, according to the Treasury Department, is now $13.666 trillion.
Republicans are far from removed from guilt when it comes to debt accumulation over the decades, but one thing’s for certain: The GOP’s Slurpees and lattes over the years have cost far less than Obama’s alleged attempt to get the car out of the ditch.
Fortunately the country has a lot to show for this new debt (I’m selling long on sarcasm and short on Hope & Change, in case that isn’t obvious).

how can he get the country in position to be bought by China unless he ratchets up the debt?
Does anybody care yet that he can’t be the President according to Article I Section II of the Constitution
Even if America goes bankrupt, good luck establishing clear title during the foreclosure proceedings. I’m sure the government mucked that up too.
Article II Section 1, sorry.
Really sorry that no one cares.
Natural born citizen means born in this country by two citizen parents.
You know, the Fed bought up about $2 trillion of that debt so maybe Bernanke is about to become American’s landlord… if he can produce a clear title. Darn, just can’t get around that Fannie/Freddie baloney machine.
It’s stuff like this that ought to sink the Democrats forever. This should be proclaimed in every speech and every campaign stump. The Democrats are pariahs to economic stability and productivity. Their policies date back to the Dark Ages, and they call it “hope and change.” When will the Republicans call the Democrats what they are–FEUDALISTS.
666
I wonder how much money every original American (1776) could have been given from he government if that government distributed 3 trillion amongst them.
Getting everything for free sure costs a lot…
No one is so worthless that they can’t, at least, serve as a bad example.
Remember all, if you want a recession to become a full-out depression, you put it in “D”! If you want a recovery, you put it in “R”!
/Barack Obama’s Smarter Brother
And not only that! He is NOT the first black president. He is the first half-black president!
So The.Worst.President.Ever could have handed each and every one of us $10,000 each and called it even. I’d have $10K dollars of my money back, but he would still be The.Worst.President.Ever.
The ole Sock Puppet is some kind a guy, yep, some kind of guy. Oh, Thankyou as well for jacking up my insurance 56%.
1776 – 1990: $3 trillion in debt,
Jan. 20, 2009 – Oct. 15, 2010: add $3 trillion to the federal debt.
That’s $6 trillion combined.
The overall debt… is now $13.666 trillion.
So, 1991 – Jan. 20, 2009 must have accumulated $7.666 trillion. Of those
18 years, 10 were Bush (2 of Bush 41, 8 of Bush 43), and 8 were Clinton. Although, it’s probably better to look at who controlled Congress, rather than who controlled the Presidency.
Still, the current pace, if continued through a complete term, would create as much debt during Obama’s Presidency as was created in 18 years of Bush-Clinton-Bush.
At the risk of repeating myself, I care.
It is amazing how successful Obama and his puppet-masters have been in shutting down any discussion of Obama’s ineligibility, while effectively amending the Constitution by simply ignoring it.
Not the first time the Constitution has been ignored of course, but it is the most profoundly important incidence of re-writing or changing the meaning of the Constitution. We now have a precedent where anybody, from anywhere, born of unknown parents as far as proof is concerned, with zero qualifications and no proof of anything related to eligibility, can be placed illegally into the position of Commander-in-Chief of the military and the most important political office in the world, and most Americans seem to either not care….or just say, “there’s nothing we can do about it.”
If this isn’t a sure sign America is over, what could be?
The average Mr. or Mrs. have no clue what the $3T in debt actually means. And, of course, those “entitled people” don’t care as long as they keep getting their free stuff.
I’m not worried about the Nov. elections, I’m worried about the lame duck sessions. The Ds will try to pass more crap in 60 days because they won’t be back anytime soon.
Kinda like the home owner who walks away from the debt but takes everything of value and then trashes the place because it ain’t theirs any more and they ain’t coming back.
Now Obama is saying the American people are too afraid to think clearly and that’s why the progressives are getting hurt in the polls. He’s callin us cowards.
It was John Kerry that said not long ago the American people were too stupid and that’s why the progressives are struggling.
Only progressive Democrats would think the best way to court voters is to call them too stupid and cowardly to know who to vote for.
The Soros funded Food Stamp Party should be nailed to the wall, as well as the associated RINOs, for what has been done over the years. Get rid of a couple of departments in Big Gov and use part of that money to fund an investigative body to root out all the Socialists as well as their minions and bring this in front of the American People and publicly show the depths this travesty.
So that’s where his stash is.
I care.
So what you’re telling me is that our courageous fighter of blind kittens is also fiscally responsible?
Errah, Newslash – Government Printing offices have to buy new wider printers to accomadate the bigger checks they are handing out. Net/net; new jobs created or saved.
And the sad thing in your statement is that there are still some Dumbocrats shilling for him. They blame Bush, they blame the citizens and anyone else who can carry the weight of this sock puppet’s huge ego. My question is with 3 trillion dollars of debt in 22 months why isn’t every adult American against Obowmao?
Yes…bankruptcy, decline, loss of the American dream. We have entrusted people with the greatest country in history, and have been betrayed. Time to take this Country back.
There are no rational economic or financial models to support the malfeasent and reckless fiscal policy of this regime. The only justification is a direct and concerted attack on the solvency of America which suggests that the perpetrators are guilty of treason. They must be prosecuted, and the Constitution strengthened to cage the central government beast.
The good news is that when this all comes crashing down those of us who are self-starting and self-sufficient will have the tools to make it through the tough times. The bad news is we will have to put up with the freeloaders who will first have to learn to get up before noon. Unfortunately for them the lesson of all this will be a tough one to learn because by then we will have very little sympathy for non-producers.
America is on the financial brink of collapse…this isn’t Pollyanna-ish ranting, it’s where America is headed.
America has become that mortgage borrower who bought and bought and bought (spent, spent, spent) and now cannot make the monthly bills. Borrowing more puts us deeper in the hole and America is near default.
Listen up and good here: Both parties are to blame. But that’s history. Following this November elections, our Congress, Senate and President must do what corporate (that has survived) has done.
Our Government must:
- Slash spending
- Lay off much of the Government work force
- Slash Government agency budgets and close some agencies
- Get more efficiency and accountability out of every dollar spent
- Congressional and Senate budgets slashed (got that Ms. Pelosi?)
- Start living within the means of taxes collected
- Simplify the tax code by several thousand pages
In the next decade, our most expensive fighters and bombers are going to be un-manned. There’s no need to build, man (woman) with upwards of 6,000 sailors and maintain these soon to be obsolete nuclear carrier war machines for example.
Bring our soldiers home to patrol America’s borders; not Iraq’s, South Koreas, Germany’s and Okinawa’s.
We need to leave Iraq now…those 50,000 “non-combat” soldiers.
We need to leave Afghanistan…it’s a tribal country living with a 16th Century mindset. No amount of American blood and treasure is worth continued nation-building there. We’ve covert intel agencies who can affectively take care of the few Taliban leaders while letting the rest of that country devolve into the chaos they seem to prefer.
Every election cycle, politicians fill voters with ‘hope and change’ promises. They get to DC and become ideologues with self-perpetuation of their elected role their #1 reason for being. This must stop.
Value Added Tax (VAT), higher taxes, fudging the budget numbers putting costs on phantom out years, stealing from Social Security, bloated Federal Employee pensions, the Treasury dicking around with money supply…will do no good.
Our dollar will continue to drop versus other currencies. Unemployment will get worse and eventual default on our Treasury debt obligations…yes, default is not far off.
We maybe got one chance come with this November’s newly elected, to really make the painful changes and cuts in our national budget and changing from the former American Government deadly lifestyle, to stop this heroin like habit of irresponsible spending.
I hope and pray our new Congress/Senate really ‘gets it’ cuz these guys have one shot left to pull jet America outta this deadly tailspin. The ground is coming up faster than most realize.

Michelle told us, B.O. won’t let us stay the same. She was not kidding. She also said he will make us change our traditions and our history. He’s doing all he can to meet that goal. It’s all about the destruction of this country with Barry and Michelle.
Nope. The fatal gushing of financial blood won’t be stopped by a Congress that can’t get past the President’s veto pen.
The purpose of this Congress will be to stop the hemorrhaging from getting worse, not to stop the hemorrhaging.
It must be the “Congress of NO.” And we must convince the American electorate that the media’s attempt to make that name a bad thing is just one more media lie.
You first have to say “No” before you can even begin to break any addiction.
Then we also have to win big in 2012. And take the Presidency.
Then, maybe we’ll have a chance.
I care.
Each and every member of Congress, as well as former VP Cheney, swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, yet none of them have done so in regard to Article II Section 1.
Who among them personally inspected a hard copy original, initial birth certicate to verify the “Obama birth narrative”?
None of them has ever claimed to have personally inspected a hard copy original, initial birth certicate to verify the “Obama birth narrative”. Even Nancy Pelosi, who signed a notarized statement claiming Obama is eligible to serve under the Constitution, has never claimed to have personally inspected a hard copy original, initial birth certicate.
The “Obama birth narrative” is either 100% true, or it is not, and either way he is ineligible to serve as President!
Why?
Because if the “Obama birth narrative” is 100% true, then he was born a British subject, and someone born a British subject is not a natural born citizen of the United States, even if they were born on U.S. soil. (This is not a new topic of discussion… it has been discussed for well over 100 years, including the timeframe just after the ratification of the 14th Amendment.)
And if the “Obama birth narrative” is not 100% true, then Obama is guilty of fraud, forgery, perjury, and obstruction of justice. These high crimes make him ineligible to hold the office, even if he were born on U.S. soil to 2 U.S. parents.
If the “Obama birth narrative” is true, then there is an original, initial birth certicate to prove it true. The contrapositive is that if an original, initial birth certicate does not exist to prove the “Obama birth narrative” true, then the “Obama birth narrative” is not true.
Since this hardcopy document has not been produced for members of Congress to inspect, then we must assume that it does not exist.
The most likely explanation is that the “Obama birth narrative” is not 100% true.
But regardless of whether it is 100% true or not, he is ineligible for the reasons stated above.
And again: Yes, I care.
————————————–
Even those who think “birthers are nuts” should ask:
Why has the “Obama birth narrative” never been verified by your members of Congress? Why has Obama never been asked to produce the hard copy documentation that is required, by law, of every new employee? Where is the documentary evidence that Obama is required by law to produce for his employer? Every new employee is required to fill out an I-9 form. There is no exception made for President or Vice-President.
Congress has failed to confirm the eligibility of both Obama and Biden.
Roland;
Obama took office with $10.6 trillion in national debt.
Yesterday, our national debt was up to $13.7 trillion.
The Obama admin projects our national debt to be $16.5 trillion in 2012…that’s more than 100% of the value of the nation’s economy and, $6 trillion above what it was on Obama’s first day on the job. This is the Obama projection which IMO is understated…the numbers are worse.
We don’t have 2 years to say “NO” and debate.
The political intervention needs to take place now or America WILL go in default before 2012.
Gridlock in Congress taking the checkbook and credit card from the Government might “buy” us some time, but default is inevitable on this heading.

2) Progressives have a “God complex” themselves. They think that they are better than everyone else, smarter than everyone else, and that they should “rule” everyone else.
Remember that Obama talked about “ruling”, not “governing”.
Progressives want to be “benevolent dictator”. They don’t want you to be free to govern yourself.
They get angry when you do not respect and bow down to them. They get angry when you do not appreciate all that they have done to grow government to “protect” you from yourself.
Gone are the days of God-fearing Democrats. Progressives, who see themselves as gods of this world, are in control of the Democratic Socialist Party.
But they will lose the House (and perhaps the Senate) in 2010, and the Presidency in 2012, and they will spend many years in political exile.

Repeal the 16th Amendment and institute the Fair Tax.
Well, he did promise CHANGE didn’t he. Now, that’s all we have left in the treasury.
Hey ’08 Obama voters…
… not the CHANGE you HOPEd for?
You do not understand. The ‘political intervention’ you want is impossible.
Obama has the veto pen. The Democrats, many of them the looniest of the current crop, will still hold 47 or 48 Senate seats even under the most spectacularly successful scenario for conservatives, and the 52 or 53 R Senate seats will include at least a half dozen hard core RINO’s.
Under those circumstances there is absolutely no chance legislation actually rolling back anything meaningful will get past Obama’s veto pen. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.
Screaming at the new Congress and blaming them for “not getting anything done” will play directly into the Democrats’ hands by encouraging the Congress to make ‘compromises’ by ‘reaching across the aisle.’
That is exactly what we do not want.
Apparently there are many conservatives who do not understand how the Democrats are going to play this.
The D’s want a big new VAT tax. They will suggest a ‘compromise’ with the D’s getting a ‘smaller’ VAT tax than they first proposed, and the R’s getting some items that reduce the cost of Obamacare along with the ‘slashing’ of some future spending increases in other programs.
On paper, and in the media spin, it will look like a compromise of some increased taxes and some cuts in spending to ‘fix’ the huge deficits.
In reality, the new VAT will be in place, to be increased willy nilly the next time the D’s get ‘control,’ and the bs future ‘cuts’ in spending will get spent anyway.
We know for certain that is how such a ‘compromise’ will actually play out because we’ve seen it before, over and over and over, ad nauseum, for the last hundred years.
We want a Congress that will break the addiction of fixing every problem with more spending and more taxes.
We do not want a Congress that will do business as usual.
Difficult? Yes.
Impossible? No.
If 1894, Democrats lost over half of the seats that they had held.
If history repeats itself (a long shot, for sure, but not impossible), Republicans could gain a 2/3 majority in the House. Even if Republicans fall a little short, every Democrat in the House will know that the wave that wiped out so many of their friends in 2010 could wipe them out in 2012 if they act like “progressives” between now and then. Those who want to be re-elected in 2012 may start actually listening to the will of the people instead of the will of Obama.
A veto-proof majority in the Senate is 67 seats. To override an Obama veto would absolutely require strong bipartisanship. But again, those Senators who are up for re-election in 2012 (and even 2014) may start actually listening to the will of the people instead of the will of Obama.
2006 was a very good year for Senate Democrats. They will have a lot of seats to defend in 2012. If they don’t want 2012 to be another tsunami, they better start listening to us.
I would love to see a simple, 1 page bill that repeals Obamacare by simply stating, “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is hereby repealed.”
Just like section 1 of the 21st amendment said simply, “The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.”
If such a bill were passed in the House, every Senator who is up for re-election in 2012 or 2014 would be loathe to filibuster it or vote against it in the Senate. Force the issue. Force them to choose. Force them to either “own it” or “disown it”. Put them on record.
I believe that such a bill could actually gain enough bipartisan support to reach 2/3 majorities in both houses and override an Obama veto.
Difficult? Yes.
Impossible? No.
kilroy and others:
We cannot afford to squander the next two years as “the party of no”. Already, we conservatives are getting stiff-armed by an unrepentant GOP that is going to glide into November without having specified exactly what they plan to do once elected.
The first priority for the same establishment scumbags who still control the GOP will be to consolidate their control of the party and then position themselves for 2012 as they say “no” to everything pleading that they are helpless. Unacceptable.
The newbies we are electing have to get to work on Nov 3 to unite to communicate to the leadership (and us) that they plan on targeting the “just say no” leadership for elimination.
Then, under new leadership, the GOP needs to go on a relentless attack to further the same Tea Party agenda that America has embraced. We need to take the veto pen out of Obama’s hand by exploiting the complete lack of support he has even among Democrats. The days of compromising our way to socialism as we lurch from one election to another led by an unaccountable one-party system in DC have to end and now.
There will be calls for unity and “give us time, we just got here” but they need to convince us from day one with concrete action that they are fighting for the right things right away, before they even sit for their first day of work. If Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Graham and their ilk are still in control in January, we lose.
November 2 will be a huge Republican victory. If there is a conservative victory, it begins on November 3. Stay sober and engaged. No celebrating on Nov. 2.
ITTRP, VP, et al:
If state legislatures don’t pass the laws requiring candidates to submit proof of Constitutional eligibility for office before being allowed on the ballot, the Secretaries of State and other election officials need to be inundated with lawsuits. The definition of “Natural Born Citizen” needs to be settled once and for all.
From Redstate – Sen. Judd Gregg (N.H.), the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, said that repealing the new healthcare reform law — or looking to defund it — were not good options.
“I don’t think starving or repealing is probably the best approach here,” Gregg said on the Fox Business Network. “You basically go in and restructure it.”
God save us from bipartisanship.
Phil and ITTRP,
Reality: There is not a snowflake’s chance in Hell you will get the Democrats you fantasize you will get to overthrow Obamacare with 67 Senate votes.
Phil, if you think getting labeled the Party of No by the media over the next two years will destroy the R’s, then we are simply done for. Then the People have become too stupid to save themselves.
Better learn Mandarin and Arabic.
Yeah, all those spiffy signs telling us Mr. Shovel-Ready is paying for the disruption of traffic flow.
mmm, mmm, mmm, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!
I’m good with Obummer vetoing whatever the new, more Conservative Congress sends to him. The Congress will be trying to work the will of the People, and Obeyme will be the obstructor. This is a multiple election cycle project. The difficulty will be keeping the People engaged, but Zer0bama vetoes will highlight his and the Dems’ out-of-touchness.
Exactly. That is what a conservative Congress will try to do, and the media will ignore the “no” that is Obama’s vetoes, instead labeling them as courageous standing against the ‘reactionary’ forces trying to take us back to being a ‘colder, less caring country.’
Meanwhile, the House should be cutting funding to garbage like the the D of Ed and the D of Energy, or wherever possible, and they’ll be ‘rejecting overtures’ from the Administration to try to ‘get something done’ by creating a VAT to pay for Obamacare, and the media will be labeling the R’s the Party of No.
It’s all so predictable it’s nauseating.
What is not completely predictable in the internet age, is if the People will fall for it once again, like a battered wife who wants to give the Democrats “just one more chance” for the twentieth time, or if they will finally see the Democrats for what they really are.
You mean like when the Clintoon’s left the WH? I’m still pissed they got way with that thievery. I repeat myself again and again, that is one of reasons this country is sooo messed up now, no one has to be responsible for their actions, unless your a conservative carrying a bible and a gun.
Seems to work for 25-30% of the voters year in and year out…sheeple.
I’m really getting crotchety in my old age…violent criminals, white collar crooks and sex offenders should pay and pay deeply, with theirs lives in many cases.
Phil, part of the responsibility is yours, vote Fiorina! 2/3 of a loaf beats no bread at all. Yes we will probably be p.o.ed at her sometimes, but we will be p.o.ed at Boxer all the time, and they are the only people on the ballot. Same with Whitman. Yes I am really disappointed with Arizona for sending back McCain, but I don’t get to vote there. I will be voting to send Blunt to the senate, even though he isn’t my IDEAL candidate, but he sure as hell is better than Robin Garnahan, who when she was Sec of State she held the election of the Mo. Senate Leader open as it was going to the Republicans due to a few Dems who were angry at their leadership until they could convince (read bribe) those angry dems to vote the right way.
They won’t have to buy us, when the debt gets high enough they will already own us.
Roland stated:
1. Our economic system will not endure another 2 years.
Economic implosion; like the Dot Com Bubble bursting, the housing market collapse and massive decline in the Dow (in 2008) will not be a big bang nor arrive with fair warning…afterwards, most will wonder how we got where we did and what government will do about it.
But government will be too busy containing anarchy and maintaining a false orderly economy that slowly crumbles.
The USSR or East Berlin disappearance will be tame in comparison as our economic collapse will reverberate around the world.
America’s economic future has gone beyond the abyss.

After the Tsunami in 2010, you might see more Democrats than you expected vote to override the veto. That is if they care about being re-elected in 2012/2014.
Win or lose, this is a battle worth fighting.
