Another reason for the Left to hate Colorado Springs

I’ve blogged before about Colorado Springs Derangement Syndrome (see here and here). Liberal elites across the country have targeted my adopted hometown and its city government for daring to cut public services instead of imposing knee-jerk tax hikes to cope with economic strain. As city councilman Sean Paige points out, private philanthropy thrives in this pro-freedom, pro-opportunity town known for its self-reliance, thrift, and fiscal accountability. The deep and diverse faith community has drawn the scorn of Rolling Stone and its ilk.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Glenn Beck will be in town tonight to launch his new book, “Broke,” on America’s moral and financial bankruptcy. Our Mountain West haven is a fitting locale to deliver a message about restoring faith in the American individual. Yep, another reason for the Left to hate Colorado Springs!

The event also comes as Coloradans face a heated gubernatorial race between George Soros mini-me John Hickenlooper and insurgent third-party candidate Tom Tancredo, who has united a broad coalition of conservatives, limited government activists, libertarians, and independents. We know all about the cancer of progressivism — and we’re doing everything we can to remove it from the governor’s mansion.

Proceeds will benefit The Constitution Challenge, an elementary educational curriculum designed by authors Shad Olson and Zach Lautenschlager to “reacquaint American students with the beauty and complexity of our most important founding document.”
