Harry Reid promises lame-duck illegal alien bailout vote; GOP presses DHS on deportations

Soon-to-be lame duck Harry Reid is promising yet another vote on the perpetually rejected DREAM Act illegal alien student bailout.
Univision host Jorge Ramos crowed about it on his Twitter page, promoting an interview with Reid scheduled to air this Sunday. The Huffington Post confirmed:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has promised to bring the DREAM Act, an important piece of legislation for the Latino community, to a vote in the Senate after the November elections — whether or not Democrats retain their majority.
Reid’s remarks will air Sunday on Univision in an interview with host Jorge Ramos. On Twitter, Ramos wrote, “Harry Reid told me that, win or lose, he will present again the Dream Act in the Senate after the elections.”
The Huffington Post confirmed Reid’s remark with a Democratic source, who said that the exact timeline hasn’t yet been worked out. The source noted that because the federal government is operating under a continuing resolution, the first order of business will likely be approving new funding, as well as approving a large number of Obama nominees who have been blocked by Republicans. But the source confirmed that Reid’s answer to Ramos on whether he will bring up the DREAM Act was an “unequivocal yes.”
Don’t forget: A critical number of Soros/open-borders Republicans support this illegal alien cap-and-gown amnesty. Stay on ‘em.

Seven GOP senators who get it are pressing DHS on deportations:
Signaling another partisan fight over immigration enforcement after next week’s midterm election, all seven Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee have signed a letter asking the Department of Homeland Security how much money it needs to deport every illegal immigrant the government encounters.
The request came in an Oct. 21 letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and asks her to “detail exactly how much funding” would be needed “to ensure that enforcement of the law occurs consistently for every illegal alien encountered and apprehended.” The Republican senators requested a response by Nov. 15.
… The GOP letter came in response to directives from Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton, including an Aug. 20 memo in which Morton requested that U.S. attorneys consider dismissing immigration cases against people who have green card applications pending and are likely to be approved. A subsequent temporary spike in dismissals in Houston, first reported by the Houston Chronicle, caught the attention of Republican lawmakers.

Harry “The Toitle” Reid is a nasty vindictive little man who will stop at nothing to further run the US down the toilet and hiss and pitch a fit because he is not getting his way.
I don’t know why Jon Kyl is always excluded from lists identifying pro-amnesty, pro-open borders Republicans. How many times did he and John Cornyn introduce their Kyl-Cornyn amnesty bills?
This lame duck session may not work out the way Democrats plan. In 2006, the Democrats won some pretty conservative states … NC, VA, ND, OH, MO, MT, NE … with some pretty liberal senate candidates. Are these guys going to want to follow Lame Duck Harry Reid over a cliff?
And let’s not forget that Carly Fiorina is also a pro-amnesty squish (according to NumbersUSA) and she is a McCain acolyte. So is Scott Brown.
If we don’t skip the celebrations on November 2 and be ready to go to work on November 3, we will soon finding ourselves again having been rooked by the McCain/Bush/Rove machine. Is Palin going to be fighting with us or will she be calling for unity out of her personal loyalty to McCain?
That’s the problem with Palin’s endorsing of McCain (as her first endorsement) and Fiorina. We really don’t know whose side she is on. Will she again choose party over principle? Is that going to be her modus operandi? Unity?
Expect chaos to reign in DC after the great defeat of Dems this Tuesday(I know, how would you note any change?)
May the loser Reid cry in his prune juice on Wednesday morning with explosive results.
Thanks for keeping us informed, Michelle. What can we do to fight the lame and sad Dem ducks? If they pass some horrific bills can the next GOP Congress automatically repeal the socialist mess?
Yep, could be trouble, but manageable if the NV voters toss ole Harry out Tuesday.
#6…only if we can keep the illegals from voting and get a handle on the voter fraud that is taking place. NV needs to come out and vote for Angle with overwhelming numbers otherwise the dims will “franken” the vote…
If you want to know where this is open-borders evil heading, there is no better source than Mark Steyn. We are lurching towards more trouble than you can imagine this coming decade.
On Hannity’s show yesterday, one of the guests claimed that the number of felons who voted in Minnesota far exceeded Franken’s margin of victory. It’s safe to assume that felons don’t vote for Republicans.
We the People of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced.
Citizens of other countries illegally in our country have no right to demand anything from our government. They most certainly have the right to petition the governments of their home countries for change if they are unhappy with their home country. If they want to be Americans, we have a path to citizenship, more generous than any other nation, and it starts in their home country.
We need to insist on the equal protection, application and enforcement of the law or devolve into anarchy. Our Republic only functions if everyone follows the same rules. We should not change the laws to accomodate those breaking them.
If America annouces to the world “We can’t stop you, so come on in” with another amnesty, the deluge will be overwhelming. If 3,000 a day didn’t get your attention, then wait until it’s 10,000 a day. We cannot sustain this influx and survive as a nation. We must speak up and speak to each other about this and not let false claims of racism or bigotry be used to intimidate us into silent assent. America is not Congress’ to give away. America belongs to We the People. Speak to your neighbors, speak to your coworkers, but please speak up to your Congressmen and Senators. It’s O.K. for us to enforce our laws, no really, it is.
Be prepared to be angry for the next couple of months, as the defeated democrats try to cram through as much of their agenda as possible. It could take months for the new congress to straighten the out mess.
Graysonret, you are correct, and that means all of the “unbiased” media will point fingers, and claim, “Look, the conservatives are in control and they are in charge of a mess. It’s their fault!!!”
This guest was John Fund who wrote the book “Stealing Elections, how voter fraud threatens our democracy”. He wouldn’t say that Franken stole the election in Minnesota but he came pretty close and would only say what you quoted. He also said that once a candidate is seated, even if there is proof of election fraud, there isn’t much that can be done about it.
“CAMPAIGN COUNTDOWN: SOVEREIGNTY AND TERRITORY”. And thank you beenthere-Mark Steyn is on the mark again. That Dingy Harry is bringing this up regardless of the will of the people is affirmation yet again of my belief that it will take more than an election to stop these fascist thugs. The Progressive/fascist demands nothing less that the utter destruction of our country as we know it. Bambi’s, or his successor’s, “Fundamental Transformation” will eventually need it’s own Night of the Long Knives. Elections will not be enough.

Let your sidearm be like American Express:
Don’t Leave home without it.
Have to make sure we get all those illegal alien votes in.
If you think they don’t vote I have some beach front property in Montana to show you.
The Democrats in both houses are going to look at the carnage their party endured on November 2. They will be in no mood to repeat the process again in 2010. But Pasadena Phil is right, we need be ready to go to work on November 3 to make sure.
The odds of Amnesty passing are slim. We’ve got to make sure they are none.
Good Bye Harry. Go back to Searchlight.
As Roy Beck of NumbersUSA has pointed out before, this particular version of the “DREAM Act” is really a nightmare in disguise. It would give amnesty to just about anyone 35 yrs old or younger, has very lame ‘good character’ and ‘education’ requirements and doesn’t address the situation where an illegal simply doesn’t apply (eg. Will they go home on their own? Do we actively seek, identify and remove them? Or, do we turn our collective cheek and look the other way? Ya know, kind of like the status quo). Even worse, it would instantly allow those persons to petition to bring in other family members in via legal means — thus, increasing markedly the numbers of legal persons. Adding the caveat or disclaimer that ‘legal’ is a generous assumption given the record of the same persons involved, and during a near-historic economic downturn I’d add. How will those persons support themselves?.
No. What is needed is thorough enforcement early, often and always. If the Dreamies want to ‘get right’ with the law, they can hire an immigration attorney and get that process started today if they want. No new amnesty or law is needed.
In every amnesty ever pushed into Federal law, abuse and fraud has been rampant. Expect no different in any future iteration – no matter the group involved, it’s [supposed] merits, etc. In the largest 1986 amnesty, it was expected that about 1-1.2 million persons qualified and would apply for the amnesty. A couple years later, the GAO did an analysis to gauge the actual numbers/effect of the amnesty: somewhere upward of 2.5-3.0 million persons actually received the benefit of the amnesty. Gosh, they just seem to materialize out of the woodwork, eh? The [then] US INS admitted that fraud and abuse/misrepresentations were largely responsible for the unanticipated numbers of applications/approvals.
In the meantime, I want the Federal Government to do it’s job. No amnesty and ramp up enforcement please.
Note to my Federal Representatives: (Reps + Senators) if you don’t support enforcement, I didn’t vote for you..and I don’t care if there is “D” or “R” or “I” by your name.
Amnesty is just one thing to worry about from our lame “duckers”… We will have to spend 6-12 months undoing the evil these vindictive scoundrels try to impose on the citizens…

It’s going to look like the Michael Jackson (RIP) THRILLER video when the lame (aka dead!) ducks show up to cram through the second half of Comrade Obama’s (PBUH) agenda. He hasn’t finished changing the U.S.A. into His dream United Socialistic States of Amerikka yet.
***
And there will be enough RINO’s to help him do so. The two ladies from Maine, the Shamnesty McCain, et. al. We ain’t seen nuttin yet.
***
I would like to see a BRAVEHEART finale when they cram through their final agendas. All conservatives stand up, drop trousers, and moon the DimocRATS as they leave. Keep it clean–wear long classy dayglow orange boxer shorts with black polka dots, black armbands, etc. It should provide some American Pravda Media laughs until the real Senate and House take over in January 2013. Go out with a bang.

I’ve been watching Neil Cavuto all morning as he discusses the election with all of the usual establishment suspects and it occurred to me that every time people like Rudy Giuliani or Jack Welch or Fred Thompson are asked about the impact of the Tea Party, they refer to us as “them”. They are afraid of “us”.
The first priority for “them” is clearly to take advantage of the good feelings that will flood the country on Tuesday among “us” and blunt our influence. “They” are already talking about the “lack of sophistication about process” (code for “how the system really works”) among “us” and how we need to recalibrate our expectations to reality.
Get ready for it folks. We haven’t won anything yet. Tuesday will be an historical day for Republicans. For conservatives, the road to victory starts on Wednesday. Get ready for it. The same GOP scoundrels who called us “purists”, “right-wing extremists”, “bigots”, “xenophobes”, “whiners” and so on will be back in power and in control of the leadership.
If we don’t cement our influence before January, we will once again be facing the prospect of President Hillary and I really don’t have the patience to once again have to go through the LOTE routine as we work our way through one establishment RINO after another. Take a look at the list of 16 the Dems sought info about from the Pentagon. We don’t have time to systematically work through that list before 2012. We need to burn the list and start from scratch.
*11/2 will be a good first step towards the right way forward, but we have to maintain utmost pressure for the balance of the year on all GOP members in the Senate, and especially the rat bastard RINO’s that serve as willing pimps for illegal alien amnesty; The Dems are toast on this issue, and that is why I call them the “Death to America” party; The USA is no more with amnesty in any form or fashion, as the floodgates will open and your granchildren will be living in a 3rd world country; And if the GOP will not fight to resist this insanity, the Tea Party will replace the GOP before the 2012 elections!
Proof that the Republican establishment STILL doesn’t listen to the Tea Party!
Every two years we the people get to toss the trash out. We are doing that on tuesday, and if this group of (_*_)s don’t hear the message that we the people are in charge, they will get the boot in 2012. We the people are taking out a lot of dinosaur republicans, and democrats in weak positions. By 2012 if the congress shows it will lead and not just play partisan gotcha games, union rank and file will be on board to rid itself of it’s thug bosses, and it’s bought and paid for dem congresscritters who are powerless to help them with patronage handouts.
You mean this Kyl-Cornyn bill? Let’s see.. increases border security, increases penalties for employing illegals, increases workplace enforcement, doesn’t offer amnesty,… I can see why you hate it.
If so, we had better start making the new list right now, Phil. It is only 24 months until we will have to get half of the participating voters in America to vote for that person for President just after going through 4 years of punishment for electing this inexperienced goofball.
So who do you have in mind?
txvet, you have made it clear over and over again that you are a RINO apologist. You have stated many times that the Tea Party is destroying your GOP. Who cares what you think?
And how about responding to some other commenters once in a while. This personal troll/cling-on BS is really old.
6-12 months? What are you smoking? Republicans, not even conservatives, will have less than 60 votes in the Senate, and even if legislation undoing what the Democrats have done gets past the Senate, then it faces Obama’s veto pen.
We are not going to be able to undo anything until we have a President who won’t veto the legislation.
All we can do for the next two years is to stop the Democrats from doing even more damage.
Actually reversing damage from the last two years can’t begin until 2013.
And that includes damage that will be done in this lame duck session.
Elections have consequences. The American Voter in Her Idiocy chose to elect a scumball President with both Houses of Congress solidly controlled by his scumball allies.
Changing that and undoing the damage is going to take decades.
That’s a lie, as usual.
That’s a lie, as usual.
I do, as Chap can testify. Another lie, as usual.
Phil, the reason I tend to pick on your posts is that you’re a liar, and somebody needs to point it out now and then. Many, if not most of your accusations against a variety of politicians, including Cornyn and Kyl, are made up out of whole cloth or derived from some lunatic fringe group. I really don’t care if you don’t like me pointing out that you’re a liar. You can easily correct it by not lying.
We have a pathway to citizenship use it!
The old guard coming up for re-election in 2012 need to have it pointed out to them again and again they will be looking for work on K st. if the don’t start working for America.
Our work starts Nov. 2nd and never ends as we have let it slide in the past.
I suggest the new congress establish a law where congress is on vacation in times of lame duck sessions. It’s obvious they can’t do damage if they are home and not in D.C. ruining the country. I don’t believe they need to be in session year round(excluding all their vacation time now) in the 1st place.
Congress has become a pen of elitist pigs at the trough.
I wonder if dingy would like to comment on this about illegal aliens here?
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/10/29/immigrant-workers-gaining-ground-economy-natives-slip-study-shows/?test=latestnews
I have a very very strong suggestion for the r’s in dc, think hard and long about illegal alien bailout!!!
L
Thank you for the link, it seemed like a very straight forward explanation of the bill they sponsored. I am not sure, but I think some people see it as RINO-ish because of “less paperwork and a new electronic system” or “machine readable Social Security cards” all of which are code words for open borders and amnesty. Not many know it, but there is a list out there somewhere with 50 or 60 million names on it of those who are factual, documented RINOs. I believe I am on that list; they found out I voted for Gene McCarthy once; (Nancy Sinatra endorsed him wearing white boots and a mini-skirt).
You may think you are a conservative and your mother may tell all her friends that you are conservative but only the “list keepers” really know and they will slip that ol’ black ball in the jar when the double secret vote is taken and you will never know how the heck you got on that list.
This Election is more of a restraining order on Obama and the Democrat party than it is a mandate for the GOP. Republicans will take the house, and though unlikely, they may take the Senate. Because Funding originates in the House. Cut off the the funding for Obama’s programs/agenda, and let them wither on the vine. Legislation to limit or repeal unpopular measures can be added to every bill that must be signed by Obama. There will be plenty of committee investigations and subpoenas to go around.
If all else fails, gridlock is preferable to the abominations of the last couple of years. Americans want policies that promote jobs and economic growth not more socialist BS. Obama is an ideologue, and he is unlikely to pull a Clinton and move toward the center. The Party of No needs to become the party of H*ll No!. The Majority of Americans want it that way.
We can finish what we start next Tuesday in 2012.
I oppose giving illegal immigrants voting rights. That is insane. It looks as if Democracy is becoming an irrelevant form of government…..
This will be the only real, proactive weapon in our arsenal (investigations won’t undo legislation), but it will be much more limited than most conservatives seem to think.
And it will only work to the extent the squishiest 30 or 40 Republicans in the House will be willing to stand up against a constant withering fire coming from the media about poor kids starving and dying from leukemia and such because the vicious rightwinger teabaggers are shutting down the government.
“There will be no one to send out social security checks!!!”
Leadership may try, but my guess is they will quickly fold, the same way Gingrich did.
I hope I am wrong. The only way it will work is if the People are screaming for it even in the face of the media barrage, and I have deep doubts even most Tea Partiers understand how hot the fire is going to get.
Voter fraud is seditious and the perps need to be hung.
I am not a fan of Kirk, but we need him in the senate as he would be in the lame duck session. Maybe the GOP takes WV also, providing another Senator getting seated right away.
I think except for Lindsey Graham, the GOP has gotten the message and to go along with Reid, would put any GOP Senator at the top of the hit list. I don’t think they have the balls. I also think Reid and the other Dems will suffer a post-mortem depression so large, they will do NOTHING in that lame duck session.
Its time we quit counter-punching the left, and start by demanding a continuation of the tax cuts and start dropping whole departments in the government like the Department of Education. The GOP needs to take over the agenda and force Obama to veto bills. Give him one every week. Guarenteed he won’t even read them.
Sharron Angle needs to get on this now. We need her in “you-shove-it-down-our-throats-we’ll-shove-it-up-your-a**es” mode. Regardless of the merits or (mostly) demerits of this thing, passing it during a lame-duck session is absolutely inexcusable.
I hope you’re not right for the country’s sake.
If a victorious GOP’s inclination is to go “squishy” and compromise with the Democrat party,Independents and Conservative Republicans will look elsewhere in 2012. By then, it may well be just be too late.
I have some hope considering that the GOP has been out numbered and has played pretty good defense since 2008. We’ll see.
This is despiration on Reid’s part. He knows he has to offer the knuckle-draggers something to get their butts off the couch and head on down to the polling place. Lord knows Hope ‘n’ Change</em ain't doin' it.
This would be awesome.
We The People are being told by our representatives that we should sit down and shut up while they invite in the entire world. We The People should get some say in this matter. Another amnesty will set off a stampede like we have never seen before. There is not much time to save our country. All the power and money are on the side of shoving this amnesty down our throats. Both parties are complicit.
If we don’t stop it, we lose our country.
amen.
Illustrates again why people really despise the government. The dem party has gone rogue for 2 years, passing laws that the majority do not want. This is treason on a massive scale. And now this dirty little ambulance chasing troll from Nevada again threatens to hold his middle finger up to America.
