Obama/Biden’s Final Pre-Election Rally: Out With a Whimper

The “enthusiasm gap” remains as gappy as ever less than 48 hours before voting begins:
CLEVELAND — The arena where President Obama and Vice President Biden are making their final appeal to Democrats to get out and vote in Tuesday’s midterm elections was far from capacity Sunday afternoon.
The crowd estimate stands at 8,000 in the arena that seats just over 13,000 and a couple thousand empty seats are visible above the stage where Obama and Biden rallied supporters on stage.
The event is the final one in a series of “Moving America Forward” rallies aimed at ginning up enthusiasm with the party’s largely deflated base ahead of Tuesday.
And that 8,000 “crowd estimate” comes from the DNC, so you know it includes area meter maids, janitorial staff and cockroaches.
The New York Times noticed the enthusiasm gap as well, but relayed the DNC spin:
Organizers noted the president was competing on a Sunday afternoon with church, football and Halloween.
Remember when you could pretty much experience all three at an Obama rally? Times have changed.
I don’t know where the other few thousand people were, except to say they weren’t at Bill Clinton’s stop in Columbus:

I don’t know about elsewhere, but voting here is virtually over. Everybody went early to avoid the rush.
Well, knock yourself out there O weird ones. Dingy Harry said it best, “This war is lost.” Only thing that ticks me off is spending millions of our money flying the dopey duo around the country to spew their worn out pablum. I don’t like it when Repubs do it either. Using the office of POTUS for partisan politics ought to end.

So what is going on in Alaska. How tolerant of RINOs must we be to accept Lisa M as senator? I am not so sure we would be better off with the Dem winning. The main thing is to win the house with room to spare. A majority in the senate matters much less in 2010. What does matter is a continuation of taking Senate seats as well as the presidency in 2012 so that filabusters by the dems don’t work.
Now in this whole process, who would trust Lisa (I’m a female Charlie Christ) M?
Agreed. The House is what counts. I also believe that it is a dubious assumption to make that Obama’s vetoes cannot be overridden even if the GOP doesn’t have the votes to do it by themselves. If we maintain the swelling wave past next Tuesday, the pressure to relent to the will of the people will be futile.
We can deal with the hopeless (for now) Senate later. This is where Palin will have to step up. Will she confront the “Gangs of McCain” or not? That’s the problem with her endorsing McCain. Big, big mistake that cast a cloud over where her true loyalties lay. We need to know Sarah. And soon.

President Obama and his Attack Dog Eric Holder are sending Federal Poll Watchers to Arizona. It seems our requiring proof of citizenship to registrar is racist and a violation of the Voting Rights Act.
That BOTH major parties have had poll watchers here for generations seems to have missed them. When we have our precinct set up meeting Monday afternoon we will be briefed further.

I will be curious to see the reaction of the crowd at the Rangers game when George H. W. and W. Bush throw out the ceremonial first pitches.
I have been noticing with great distaste the increasing number of people on the speaker’s dais at these political events. This choir of actors and bobbleheads is selected to appease the target audience (white middle-aged men need not apply). It is so obviously phony (and yes, both Rs and Ds do it, the Dems just are more obvious).
What makes this enjoyable now? The choir outnumbers the flock. Bwaah-ha-ha-ha!!!!!

It’s going to be easy to vote Republican this time – almost everybody on my ballot has no voting record and plenty of the right rhetoric. But I won’t keep voting for them if they start spending like Bush again.
As they are human more than one of our newly elected will disappoint us–some be be so overwhelmed they freeze–and some will become true heroes to the Constitution. All of them will need watching as we keep their feet to the fire. The ONE issue we most look for is fealty to the Constitution and the rule of law. Hopefully they don’t get too comfortable and stay too long–if they do it is our fault.
It is when WE get sloppy THEY can pull shenanigans.
