Take Your Olive Branch and Shove It, Democrats

Here’s my post-election column. I’ll continue to update the results post here as we wait on key AK, WA, CO, AZ, and Florida returns.
The grass-roots conservative midterm message: No surrender, no compromise, no capitulation.

On the eve of a historic midterm election upheaval, President Barack Obama tried to walk back his gratuitous slap at Americans who oppose his radical progressive agenda. “I probably should have used the word ‘opponents’ instead of ‘enemies’ to describe political adversaries,” Obama admitted Monday. “Probably”?
Here is an ironclad certainty: It’s too little too late for the antagonist-in-chief to paper over two years of relentless Democratic incivility and hate toward his domestic “enemies.” Voters have spoken: They’ve had enough. Enough of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner’s rhetorical abuse. Enough of his feints at bipartisanship. Whatever the final tally, this week’s turnover in Congress is a GOP mandate for legislative pugilism, not peace. Voters have had enough of big government meddlers “getting things done.” They are sending fresh blood to the nation’s Capitol to get things undone.
Just two short years ago, Obama campaigned as the transcendent unifier. “Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states,” he proclaimed. “We have been and always will be the United States of America.”
It’s been an Us vs. Them freefall ever since.
“We don’t mind the Republicans joining us,” Obama taunted a few weeks ago. “They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”
“They’re counting on young people staying home and union members staying home and black folks staying home,” the fear-mongering agent of hope and change jeered on the campaign trail last month.
“You would think they’d be saying thank you,” he sneered last April, when millions turned out for the nationwide Tax Day tea party protests.
“I want them just to get out of the way” and “don’t do a lot of talking,” he scoffed in response to prescient critics of the federal trillion-dollar stimulus boondoggle.
In addition to labeling GOP opponents of his open-borders policies “enemies” who needed to be “punished” by Latino voters, Obama accused them — that is, us — of lacking patriotism. “Those aren’t the kinds of folks who represent our core American values,” he told viewers of the Spanish-language network Univision.
Democratic leaders have taken their cue from Team Obama’s persistent politics of polarization.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer called vocal citizens who protested the federal health care takeover bill during the town hall revolts of 2009 “un-American,” too. Remember? “These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American,” Pelosi and Hoyer blasted in an op-ed piece for USA Today last summer. “Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”
This from the woman who called for a vengeful government investigation of grassroots opponents of the Ground Zero mosque.
Obama’s pal Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida, whom the president hailed as an “outstanding” member of Congress, accused Republicans of wanting elderly people to “die quickly” and of presiding over a “holocaust in America.” Vice President Joe Biden hailed Grayson as a “guy who doesn’t back away from a fight, and doesn’t back down from what he believes in” and told him at a fundraiser: “We owe you one, buddy.” No mention of Grayson’s smear of a female Federal Reserve adviser as a “K Street whore.”
In California, entrenched incumbent jerk Pete Stark derided immigration enforcement activists at a town hall by asking: “Who are you going to kill today?” To an elderly constituent who opposed the health care bill, Stark retorted: “I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”
As voters who have been maligned by the ruling majority as stupid, unwashed, racist, selfish and violent headed to the polls Tuesday, Democrats released “talking points” attacking Republican leaders who “are not willing to compromise.” But “no compromise” is exactly the message that un-American Americans delivered to Washington this campaign season:
No more compromising deals behind closed doors.
No more compromising bailouts in times of manufactured crisis.
No more compromising conservative principles for D.C. party elites.
No more compromising the American economy for left-wing special interests.
No more compromising transparency and ethics for bureaucratic self-preservation.
Let us be clear, in case it hasn’t fully sunk into the minds of Obama and the trash-talking Democrats yet: You can take your faux olive branch and shove it.
Thank you.

So, the party of Big Unconstitutional government LOST to the party of Big Unconstitutional Government.
Let’s hope we get REPEALS!
Obamacare
Patriot Act
No Child Left Behind
Prescription Drug Plan
And way too much more to list. My guess, Obama care might get repealed. Anything the GOP did under Bush stays. If so, their not serious about the constitution or cutting spending. Their just partisons. I’m hoping for the best, but expecting to be disappointed.
I’m afraid they already have…obama is going to implement a fascist administrative state and bypass the congress.
He’s already been bypassing congress with his appointed and unaccountable czars. More bypassing of a GOP controlled house is sure to come.
To quote our “beloved” Dear leader. We won.
We were not going to win everything we wanted. People like Boxer, Reid, Rangle, etc may have won, but they may find out that winning will be the worst thing for them. Only time will tell. There is a new crop of House members who can serve as whistle blowers. We need them to further expose the inner workings of the political elitist machine. This is a war and we did quite well for this first battle. We have a lame duck congress to watch carefully. This wasn’t about electing the GOP as much as it was to get people in favor of the Constitution elected.
In order to restore a house one must first demolish the interior back to the studs and throw the debris away. We have more debris to toss out in 2012. We need to take down Soros as well.
Spending originates in the House. We have more power than some believe.
Regarding the vote in California; voters rejected the two RINO candidates. Perhaps we can get to work now on actually finding a strong conservative candidate for the next election cycle. By then, Brown and his droppings will have thoroughly destroyed a previously vibrant economy to save the environment…something we have little control over.
The Green Weinies will have done their damage, but made billions for themselves, all while draining the assets of this state, and the sure to be funded federal bailouts that are coming.
The sane, and the conservatives will continue to flee this state in droves. What business person with even half a brain, would ever consider conducting business out of California? And, with Prince Harry still in office, those businesses will not be going to Nevada, either. Texas’s business future looks bright, I would say.
I predict that California will rise to the top of the heap in regards to crime, welfare, corruption, and especially violence. There can be no other way…the progressives have made it so. Seriously, the Green agenda is more important than jobs? Really? God help us!
Please don’t feed the RSS troll.
We have redistricting ahead as well. Is your state gaining or losing house members? How will the districts be gerrymandered?
Here is an email flyer I just received from NumbersUSA regarding the results of the election. In short, if you’re against illegal immigration and pro-enforcement, it was an overall GOOD day for like minded folks.
Well, last night is a start. 58 seats in House the is no small shift. 6 seats in the Senate is frankly disappointing, especially when you consider the number of RINOs who won and the number of conservatives who didn’t. What was Alaska thinking? I mean you expect this nonsense in California and New York…
In some ways, the results strike me as perplexing if not somewhat schizophrenic.
But, conservatives across America have to face the fact that this was only the beginning. We have a lot more work to do. I’m looking forward to marching with a couple hundred thousands patriots in DC many, many times over over the next few years.
Let’s not forget this comment by Pete Stark at a town hall meeting where he asked a member, “Who are you going to kill today?”
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20009280-503544.html
We need to keep shoving these incidents down their throat nonstop, like Michelle does here on a daily basis, until the libtards are recognized by all for the elitist, “I know better than you do” jerks that they are.
P.S. It’s my birthday, and even though I’m on a rig 1100 miles away from my wife and 2 daughters, I couldn’t be happier with the gift the American voters gave me today.
Thank you!
I’m not trying to gloat (this is hardly a day of gloating for Democrats) but what were Republicans thinking nominating all those unelectable far right wingers? You’d be sniffing at controlling both houses of congress if you hadn’t blown it on those kooks. Seriously, how could Republicans possibly not take Harry Reid’s seat?
That gift didn’t come from me, but happy birthday just the same!
Stay safe and God bless.
And speaking of Alaska, what are the odds that Lisa M caucuses with Democrats? I heard her give a very nuanced, long-winded explanation to CNN about how she’s been a Republican since she was 18, she is a Republican, and she “intends to” caucus with Republicans. Is she setting herself up for a flip-flop, or is she just trying to leverage a leadership position and play hard to get like Lieberman?
Overall, I’m very pleased with the results of the House races, Senate not so much…but we must battle on. The fact that Pelosi will no longer be banging the gavel is a great victory! I think Reid squeaked by through voter fraud (the SEIU has the contract to set up and maintain voting machines-WTH?)and gaming unions threatened some with a job loss if they didn’t vote for Dirty Harry. The ijiits in Mass. kept Bwaney, and California is too dumb to get rid of elitists like Boxer. So, we didn’t get everything we wanted…but we got a lot!
Lot’s of shape-shifting going on today. Suddenly, certain formerly strident Republicans are conciliatory and Obama is now sounding like the GOP has been the ones standing in the way of lowering taxes and developing a sensible energy policy on natural gas and nuclear.
Let’s pay attention and not get sucked in by crocodile tears and soothing words as they try to pander their way into winning our favor. These guys are weasels and they are good at it.
Why thank you, RSS. May God bless you and your’s as well.
I one of those who believes nobody should ever win with a plurality. There should be a run off. Lisa M is a classic example of someone winning on a plurality. She will be a pain in the ass for 6 years. But the Senator from West Virginia will be more conservative than her and could balance her out. The GOP in my opinion are better off right now with a minority in senate. It is the House and the Governorships that really mattered.
It looks like we even got a Republican Governor in Oregon, the bluest of blue states.
“There will be time for politics later.” – Obama
Right – LOL!
Lets not with our pessimism snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We stopped for now the Progressive march. We have a long way to go, but we are talking about stuff now completely ignored in 2008. We are talking about individual FREEDOM. The left still chooses to ignore that fact, by we know that is animus that has driven us.
The conflict of interest must be negated. First there should be no government unions. The SEIU should not even exists. However if it does, then it must not be involved in campaigning or funding of elections. I think if under investigation we find that some members intentionally altered the results of the election, then they should be tried for sedition. Voter fraud is a crime against all of us and the constitution.
Man, that Obama press conference is just droning on and on and on! I, me, my…. This guy needs to spend some couch time with his psychiatrist. He keeps saying that he “gets it” and then goes on and on demonstrating again that he doesn’t.
Life is going to get even worse for DOTUS.
Obama
Evacuatesleaves the country after press conference. HEREIf Mao were standing next to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama he would look like a right-wing extremist.
Angle, O’Donnell and Miller are not right-wing extremists. They are people that recognize and respect the founding principles of this nation.
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama are the extremists and anyone with half a brain knows that.
How Harry got more votes that Angle may someday be a subject of intense interest to many people, even in the FEC and the DoJ. But for now, corruption rules the day and the people of Nevada are likely to get exactly the kind of government they voted for last night. I doubt they will like what chose…
Phil, No doubt Obama is manic-depressive and now he is in his funk. Soon he will be manic again.
Bennet claiming victory.
Was thinking about a weekend in Vegas … but just lost my desire to go there …
Thank you! Exactly this.
Obama’s answer to the cap and trade question today answers whether he will moderate going forward. He said anyone who denies cap and trade is denying science, and if he can’t get Congress to do it “there is more than one way to skin a cat.” He is a radical. Period.
If Republicans refuse to take a gun to a gunfight going forward they need to be abandoned.
The Ruling Class Republicans leaving O’Donnell to swing in the wind was the canary in the coal mine. It will be looked back on as the sign of when they went the way of the Whigs. They showed their intentions. The only question now is whether or not they will wake up and represent us or remain elitist Ruling Class Democrat-lite. They should be given no time and no leeway to decide. They need to fix this or fade away.
RSS, the Tea Party did very well, but the first time out they made some rookie mistakes that we will hopefully learn from. Reid has to survived by mailing in box tops. We underestimated him…… period. Further, the GOP saw what happens when you run squishy candidates as Phil points out.
What will be interesting is to see what we learn from the wins and loses and how well we apply the lessons to 2012.
I didn’t say they were extremists. They are probably no more conservative than Rubio and Toomey, who obviously both ran incredible campaigns. They were unelectable in more of a “trainwreck” sort of way that they had disagreeable personalities (Miller), had taken bizarre policy positions in the past (Angle with the Scientology prison rehab idea), and just didn’t square with what voters expect from serious politicians (O’Donnell).
Unless you can point to any evidence that Harry Reid stole 40,000 votes, I’m inclined to believe he won fair and square.
Yes, and we know how CRAAAAZY they are compared to ohh…say, Kucinich, Maxine Waters, Barbara Boxer, Jerry Brown, Nancy “pass it to see what’s in it” Pelosi, and Alan Grayson. Yeah, those INSANE Tea Party candidates are pure nutcases put up against the likes of Kucinich.
Speaking of “No compromise”…why do we care what the Left thinks about this election?
My favorite win: Lt Col West! Helping to show that there are black folks (like me) who aren’t genetically determined to vote Democrat.
Rss speaks:
Unemployment Rate for Nevada: September 2010
National Average 9.6%
Nevada 14.4%
Reid was instrumental in causing this as well as the Sock Puppet in chief. Until I see otherwise I will go on the tack Harry and crew rigged this.
Major O said:
You bet cha — I would serve with Col. West any day.
I don’t know if anyone has seen the list of Senate seats up for grabs in 2012, but the Republicans have a great shot at taking that chamber. 23 of the 33 incumbents are Democrats. You have the same red state upstarts like Jon Tester in Montana and Claire McCaskill in Missouri who won in ’06 when Bush was so unpopular but will probably have a real hard time holding on to their seat again, especially if the economy is still in the toilet. In addition to Missouri and Montana, you’re gonna see real tough races in Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska (Ben Nelson is so dead), New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia AND Wisconsin. Very, very scary for Dems. If nothing else, it’s gonna force these senators to be extremely careful with their votes over the next couple years, which might be even more important to the Republican agenda than the six seats they just picked up.
Ouch.
You have to be NUTS to accept RSS’s definition of “CRAZY!”
Larry Craig just got all excited, he thought you said chamber pot.
Kalifornia is done. Stick a fork in it. Brown and Boxer and their ilk will actually run Kalifornia into the ground. May see the state break up into many little parts and pieces, not sure, but I sure don’t get how they think that a raging liberal like Larry Brown and a Solcialista like Barbara Boxer will have any kind of economic help coming in the future.
As far as Christine O’Donnell and Sharron Angle losing, I’m pretty shocked that they both liost, especially Angel: I had her winning in Nevada, and would have loved to see Harry Reid put in a Daschle, and get his hat handed to him. Alas…
These two ladies need to keep their heads up. Angle went in against the Sitting Democrat Senate Majority Leader, and came within a breath of takign him down. Christine O’Donnell went up against a Democrat Machine in a state that has had thirty-plus years, and again showed herself well. These two need not hang their heads, nor throw in the towel; they’ll get their chance agian, and when they do, they’ll know next time how to win.
President Obama, in his speech and presser abotu this election has again shown himself the out-of-touch chump that he is acting like. Its as if these GOP-Tea Party Wins were for naught, that it was his plan that they win, and that the whole thing is all about him. “I took a shellacking?” More like his policies took one. What a megalomaniac!!! As if this was all about him!!!! It was about the American People taking back their government! and I will say this: the House is just the first battle. Movements like the Tea Party always start like a local wild fire, and if the House of Representatives, is anything, it is a barometer of grassroots shifting. The Tea Party has spoken by helping the House to be taken, as wel las the governorships and satate houses of several states. We must not stop here, but work towards a Tea Party Victory in the Senate and the White House in `12.
Finally, friends, it is good, once again, to see that the American System works (thought I tend to agree with stillontheroad: I think somehow it was rigged in favor of Reid; according to every poll in Nevada, the Majority Leader was heading towards defeat, and a sound one at that!!!!). America wins again….
This from the guy who got a D is chemistry.
Your argument that the race must be rigged is your opinion that Reid was a weak candidate. I agree, but he won because the Republicans fielded a disaster who literally ran from the press, whitewashed her website after the primaries to hide her conservative views, supported doing away with Social Security, and supported storing nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain (a big no-no in Nevada politics).
AllahPundit cited an exit poll that confirmed he won despite having an unfavorable rating of about 55-45.
In other words, Americans!
Agreed, Major.
As I’ve said before, you and I might appear a bit different; but, we’re actually related…we’re both Americans!
Your “REASONABLE” candidates did lose, right?
how odd that a comment of mine would get deleted…
WE82, that individual could not care less about conservative, traditional Americans and our values and economic/political fortunes.
Any “advice” and “recommendations” he might proffer are likely to be misleading/deceptive/mocking; at best, they are worthless.
Please go ahead and throw that water. I’m certainly not crowing. And if I were McConnell or Boehner I wouldn’t be crowing either.
I got my dose of cold water reality thrown on me at the abysmal results for the governor and senatorial races in New York. I’m originally from New York now living in Colorado and both states seem to be either in denial of reality of plain stuck on stupid with a little marijuana experimentation thrown in.
I totally agree with your assessment and humbly submit the inclusion of the state of New York as another lost cause and source of not only dysfunctional governances but out-of-touch voter sentiment. It’s pretty sad to say that I really don’t feel much shock anymore when the likes of Cuomo, 2×4 Schumer, and Gillibrand win.
I thought Colorado would be a state I could take pride in and eventually settle and retire in. I never thought that the voters would do a 360 and decide that more government is awesome but less responsibility and personal choices isn’t. Very saddening.
Do not leave most of New England off that list.
This was only the opening “skirmish” of the coming struggle/war for America.
Do not despair; but, resolve to carry on to save/reclaim our country.
I just noticed that Ryan of Wisconsin had a lower score on immigration that Grayson. Boehner is only a C. We must keep an eye on some these so-called conservatives. Expect to see the “Dream Act” revived.
Take your freakin’ compromise and shove it. You want higher taxes and no jobs? Go for it… ’cause it’s already here in Colorado. I feel no loyalty to any state…. only the one where I can make a decent living and raise my family.
You’re also freakin’ naive. Go ahead and sell your soul down the river for your precious Dims… it’s no surprise to many of us who’ve seen it in our own families. Experimentation in utopia is nice but it gets pricey and in the end bites the common man.
Ans so the “Grand Experiment” that is the US of A continues, at least a little while longer.
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no compromise with the likes of the President, the Senate Majority Leader, and Former Speaker (GOSH, “Former” feels so refreshing by her name) Pelosi. Didn’t we try that with our “Compassionate” Conservatism 1995~2007? And where’d that get us? a Democratically-controlled House and Senate, a President who’s more liberal than McGovern in the White House in 2008, and Stimulus, Bail-Outs, Economic Recession bordering on Depression, Housing collapse, and ObamaCare.
And what “compromise” did they all offer the GOP and Conservatives?
NONE.
They rammed their agenda through the house, the senate, and across the president’s desk, and now we have a $13T debt to pay off, ALL THE WHILE TREATING THE GOP MINORITY IN BOTH HOUSES WORSE THAN TIP O’NEILL AND GEORGE MITCHELL TREATED US TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO!!!! See what compromise gave us?
Wanna’ know what I sday to Boehner and the incoming 112th Congress?
Get yoour act together or we’ll find other candidates to take your place!!!!
AND NO FREAKING COMPROMISE!
Just shooting the ish here. If you want misleading/deceptive/mocking, then Sarah Palin is the best thing to happen to the Republican Party since Reagan, and she would certainly make a credible candidate for president.
Not a lot of time right now to go over all this, but I’ll try to get back to it this evening.
In the meantime, I did post today regarding last night’s avalanche. In the words of John Boehner, it is not time to celebrate, but there’s going to be a lot more that needs to be done than he thinks before any celebration is in order.
Hope you’ll all check it out and comment!

Barack Obama insulted people like me on every level. Now he wants to act like he wants to work with me? Smile at my face and stab me in the back.
He lied to us about his ties to Rev Wright and various other Chicago area criminals, calls me names when he is with his pals and then thinks I will fall for his “I iz wit u” b.s.
This guy is pure evil, from the top of his head to the tip of his toes. He has no soul. Good moral people do not talk out of their butt like that. He disrespects me and the office he was elected to by pure deceit. I have zero respect for him and wouldn’t trust him further than I can throw him. He may seem like a likable guy but would stab me in the back if he had a chance to get his way. Be very careful out there.
Really, must you be such a condescending POS? I mean, it’s not enough you have sour grapes, but do you really think you’re better than anyone else? You stay classy.
Oh, and by the way, if you want to know who really defines misleading/deceptive/mocking, look at your a$$clown king Obeyme. Yep, he’s a rich source of material for mocking… both to his face and behind his back. Yeah, so much for him being “moderate.” “Loving” gays. “Hating” the rich while taking money from lobbyists and other corporate titans. No, that’s not deceptive.
Yeah, I really see your point. All the misleading/deceptive/mocking malaprops come from the Republican side. Heavens no, the Dims, the “party of the people” never steal elections, mislead/deceive the voting public about their true intentions, never mock the other side for things they’re just as culpable in doing.
Yeah, I really see your point.
If that were true, you’d be dead already.
MSNBC Talking heads were chuckling it up last night about how the Repubs won’t be able to do anything without the Senate and the White House. That would only be true if the Dems and Obama continue to disregard the will of the people and reject the ideas that come from the peoples house. We will have another election in 2 years so they can do that if they choose.
Two more years of Obama sucking while he blames it on Bush and Republicans will get really old and will wear thin. Thats the real question, what are Obama and the Dems going to do? Nothing? The American people will be the ones that feel the hurt.
I suppose thats better than sailing us down the river with socialism and probably eventual communism. Then we will vote again. The Tea Party will be stronger. I’ll take my chances with that. It would be better if Obama bends to the will of the people but it won’t happen. He is not capable of compromise. It would mean admitting he made a mistake. Remember how the MSM harped on Bush not admitting a mistake? I am sure we won’t hear from them either.
Wow, strong words. No wonder you cling so hard to your God and your guns.
Of the 700,000 votes that Fiorina lost to Boxer by in California, 550,000 of the difference was in Los Angeles county.
I think you may be barking up the wrong demographic tree here.
The Republican party had better look at this stunning statistic and figure it out.
Just out of curiosity, how strong a process does California have for ensuring non-citizens don’t register/vote?
I remember this discussion two years ago with my niece (who swallowed the Obama koolaid). She said Palin lacked the experience to be VP. But she never questioned the lack of experience that Obama had.
What we have seen is that almost everything the establishment said about Obama was a lie. They told us what a great speaker he was. I compared his 6th grade level speeches to Lincoln in the Lincoln/Douglas debates. I recommend this exercise. Lincoln had humor, and clarity and a clear explanation of what he would do. Obama on the other hand spoke in platitudes, seemed deliberately obscure and only had a cadence that made it sound as though he was an orator (but not the words).
We were told Obama was smart. But they never produced his grades or his college records. We then see him stammer and stumble and unable to think on his feet. Unlike truly intelligent people I know, he does not listen. Instead of smart, he is a smart ass.
The guy who needs to be the smartest man in the room, is neither smart or in the same room as the rest of us. His room is only big enough for him.
The establishment on the other hand has told us how dumb and crude Palin was. However when you hear her speeches, though not in the league with Lincoln, are clear, humorous and to the point. She can think on her feet, and like many who know how to make her own way in life, she is immensely practical.
I would look forward to a face off between Obama and Palin. Palin would clean his clock. Obama could not be fed enough one liners on his monitors to challenge anything she says. Obama is already out of his league. He won’t even see the fast balls coming.
The mockery of the left for Palin, will only remind the rest of us how ignorant and mean-spirited they really are. I just say: Bring it on.
I don’t think the troll even read the article by Michelle.
When I registered, they only asked for my drivers license number. When I voted, I showed them the voter registration number on the voter guide sent to me in the mail. No ID was asked for. If the drivers license number check at the time the regisration form is received is weak or non-existent, massive fraud is possible.
Yeah – but isn’t it fun to hear the leftists pleading for mercy after they took such a beating?
Adding to something Doug noted in his other post,
It’s time for Democrats to reap what they have sown.
The nationwide mandate is now reflected by the outcome of the 2010 House election results.
Obama can forget about any mandate he thinks he received from the 2008 election results.
I am fairly sure I don’t want to be part of the universe where Harry Reid is “reasonable.”
I think that says quite a bit about RSS.
http://michellemalkin.com/2010/10/21/harry-reid-but-for-me-wed-be-in-a-worldwide-depression/
http://michellemalkin.com/2010/10/30/harry-reid-promises-lame-duck-illegal-alien-bailout-vote-gop-presses-dhs-on-deportations/
http://michellemalkin.com/2010/10/07/harry-reids-constitutional-duty/
And that is just a few of his gems…
You are half-preaching to the choir. Obama is about as half-baked as you get, and the only time he has been fully baked was when he was high. I’m a liberal Democrat, so I prefer him to Palin, but they aren’t too far off intellectually. And I don’t mean that in a good way. Neither has one scintilla of original thought. They are talented only at the art of regurgitating the group think they hear and repeating it eloquently enough for people to think they are smart. (I’m not even a fan of Obama’s abilities as an “orator” but I get why others swoon to him.)
It’s probably not fair that Obama has a reputation of being smarter than Sarah Palin, but my sense is if he were asked questions like “can you name a Supreme Court case you disagree with?” or “what do you read?” or “who is your favorite founding father?” then he would have more than a blank stare to respond with. That doesn’t mean he’s smarter, but he’s spent enough money on education (whatever his grades were) to at least answer those questions.
Y’all can whine all you like over how unfair the world has been to Sarah, but at the end of the day, there is a reason that two thirds of the country, and half of Republicans, don’t think she is qualified to be president.
whistling past the graveyard again
Sadness continues here in Maryland. Except for the furtherest districts over on the Eastern Shore, all went D by 60 to 80%.
Just like Northern Virginia, being close to DC, there are too many folks sucking money out of the federal government trough (that just might possibly influence their vote).
If there were any reason to question why the Dept of Justice ensured party affilliation must be shown by the candidate on the ballot, Mr. Alvin Greene of So Carolina received 358,276 votes.
Is it any wonder you’re not taken seriously as anything more than the troll you are with comments like this? I mean seriously.
At least I have principles. You seem like so many Americans, of both political persuasions, who are too eager to rip up and change the Constitution when it no longer serves their purpose.
This comment really hit me as one of the more stereotypical of how liberals like you see conservatives like me. So, do you not think that Americans have a right to believe in any God they want or carry a gun to protect themselves (or for that matter to hunt)? Are you that ignorant?
You have made no inroads with a comment like this so if your intention was to chastise or ridicule me I’ll take the ridicule. It’s what I expect from dishonest liberals like you.
Have fun in red, red Georgia. Those bible-clinging, gun-toting conservative Americans must really irritate you with their “backward” ways. Poor baby.
Ah the old argument by intimidation. sorry that doesn’t work. What drives the left nuts about her has nothing to do with her intelligence and has everything to do with her not being the right KIND of women. When she finds out her child has Downs Syndrome, she has the baby anyway.
But as far as saying dumb stuff, how about “Cinco de Quatro” or ” Austrians speak Austrian” or “I have been to all 57 States”. No Obama can’t add, but only subtracts. He can not multiply but only divides. He has a hole in his understanding of America and the intelligence of the electorate. Like Reid and Pelosi, he will never get it. We don’t need these misfits.
All this shows that while this was a HISTORICAL outcome, the Dems (and RINOS)still didn’t get it or think they can spin it to a different meaning. After all, its just the stupid people who said this, not the smart politcians who know better than us.
Problem is, we are totally on to them now. We knew they would do this. What they don’t understand is we are not done. We are only beginning so their obstinance will not change the outcome, only delay it.
As if you even read what RSS said. That’s not exactly an unpopular opinion among conservatives about Mrs. Palin. Not that I necessarily share it, but you are really barking up the wrong tree, especially to suggest that RSS is an Obama supporter.
That’s just stupid.

The annointed One failed economics in college.
Prove me wrong.
umm that was a joke. I am a God-fearing churchgoer who wishes he were bitter enough to know how to hunt… that’s a joke too. though I do wish my peacenik parents had raised me to know what to do with a rifle.
So what drives the right nuts about her?
HA
If they do nothing, the American people will be better off.
The only thing they could do better would be to reverse the illegal programs and laws foisted upon the American people over the course of the 20th Century.

No one cared about that either.

Not dumb and crude, but much closer to Obama than anyone would have you believe. Took her all of what, five seconds to sign on with McStupid?
I wouldn’t trust her either.

Clean his clock indeed she would, but only for show.
Mean-spirited indeed. We must not eat our own the way they do.

HAHA forgive me for being away so long as to forget what side people are on here …
However, it is true that Palin is one of THEM (left)and not one of US (right).
She is among the best at hiding it (which makes her even more dangerous), but when it all comes down to brass tax, she’s just McCain lite.

I don’t know about half of Republicans, but I’m sure that at least half of conservatives don’t think she is.
Even fewer thing Obama is. In fact, he has yet to prove he’s even eligible.

I have to agree, emjem. That wasn’t just a low blow, it was downright stupid.

Yes.
Shut em down.
You’re 100% right. I just wish that two thirds of the country had realized that Obama wasn’t qualified to be president.
Yes.
And shut the government down if Obama doesn’t agree to a fiscally responsible budget this year. I mean it. The House better not cave to the bad press that they think it will be bringing them.
The Democrats, establishment Republicans and all of DC still need to get a clue

Our chances of taking the senate in 2012 are excellent. And we’ll only need to have a total of 50 seats since Vice president Rubio will be casting the tie-breaking vote.
Well said, MM.
Hi, Red State Skeptic. To your question, I would like to know: If Sarah Palin is no threat, why can’t liberal mainstream media leave her alone? After all, if she’s the 21st Century version of Dan Quayle, shouldn’t the media have left her aside after the `08 Election? If she is no threat, tell us all, why the attention given to her by the Mainstream Media? Why was this election another “Obama vs. Palin” with Palin supposedly losing on all counts again on the liberal MSM scorecards? Didn’t she lose last year, too, when Hoffman lost a squeaker in the special, NY-23rd election?
Another thinkg I’d like to know: Why do libs fail to see the forest for the trees? Yes, the Tea Party didn’t gain the senate majoirty (but at least 6 seats is a pretty good gain), and yes, Obama is still occupying the White House……but the avalanche that was the House election is seemingly ignored: why? Is it not true that the House of Representatives is more of a barameter for public sentiment than the Senate or White House, and even moreseo the gubernatorial and state legislative races? Why the white noise about this from Olbermann, Matthews, et. al. ad nausaeum?
Care to answer these simple questions, Red State Skeptic? Because, especially with Governor Palin, the MSM just won’t leave her alone: if she is no threat, why don’t they?
Red State Skeptic?
A Democrat olive branch is about as honest as a get well card from a strain of salmonella.
Ummmm… I guess I’ve lost the little funny bone I have when it comes to liberals. Perhaps, next time put a qualifier because it’s not like I knew it was a joke.
I’ll remember to bring my funny bone the next time I have to struggle to keep awake during an Obama press conference.
It is time to compromise, Michelle. Otherwise we will lose more in the long run than we’d gain in the short run.
But, we must compromise on our terms. My terms are simple, the government shrinks in size and spending. There must be no compromise with that. All we should allow for compromise is “by how much.” And we should start our negotiations far enough out we can come back and compromise without tossing our cookies in the process.
{^_^}
Very well said, Michelle!!!
Unfortunately, the GOP elite still don’t get it! It’s time for old fuddy-duddies, like Rove, Gingrich, and McCain for instance, to leave the field of battle and let the young warriors take charge.
The powers-that-be at Fox don’t get it either. Every time a RINO appears on Fox, I switch to the Weather Channel.
So it is over and time to forget voter fraud issues…I wounder if Harry or Barbra really won or were the ballot boxes really stuffed big time…Oh well it doesn’t matter now.
Michelle: Great piglosi impersonation this morning on Fox and Friends…I should have dvr’d it for the wife to see…still laughing…Great job!!
No, it is not.
It is time to hit the domestic enemy harder and even harder, again and again and again and again….
No, we won’t.
That type of thinking is likely a big part of why the GOP House/Senate takeover in 1994 essentially ended up going nowhere.
…’Course, sometimes not so soft….
Oops!
Wrong thread.
Aplologies….
So, ONCE AGAIN, the Republicans are being told (not asked…Obeyme never asks, he tells) that they need to compromise. When do the Dems compromise? Like Never! Republicans better grow a spine. True character means you do not compromise on your principles. The crap about “reaching across the aisle” is just that, crap.
