‘President’s Accommodations Provided by the Beautiful Taj Mahal Hotel, Protection Courtesy of Fife Security’
**Written by Doug Powers
Perhaps the most elaborate security measures ever planned are being implemented during President Obama’s visit to India. Nothing has been left to chance. Threats from sea, land, air, food and coconut are all being considered.
So far, however, it seems the greatest worry isn’t from outside threats, but from local security.
From the Daily Mail:
A policeman guarding Mr Obama’s Mumbai hotel set off a major security alert after accidentally shooting himself in the leg last night.
The gunshot sparked chaos as Secret Service agents rushed to protect the U.S. president.
An alert was sounded as Mr Obama, his wife and daughters were preparing for a private dinner inside the hotel.
The injured officer, Suhas Chowdhury, 49 – a 20-year veteran of the Mumbai police – had been guarding the perimeter of the hotel when his gun went off at the end of his shift.
Officer Chowdhury was then ordered to carry only a single bullet in his shirt pocket, and put back on duty.
Who knew that the Mumbai police had their own version of Joe Biden?

Good thing Sherriff Taylor only gave him one bullit.
True, too bad though that Sherrif Taylor wasn’t there to help… he opted instead to stay behind here in the states to keep hawking Obamacare.
Shazam! That sounds like my good friend Barney! Goooollllleeeeeee in India!
Spontaneous discharge? This guy has 20 years of experience? There is no excuse for a handgun going off accidentally. You never put your finger on the trigger until you are about to shoot. If it was a an ancient revolver with no safety features that would prevent the gun going off from bumping or dropping it, the hammer should have been resting on an empty chamber.
What kind of security people do they have over there?
He acted stupidly.
Great to see that all our Navy & Air Force assets jumped into action in the nick of time!

What was he dooing playing with his “gun.”
Y’all have to see this, bho and mo dancing with the kids and it seems they are comparing bho dance with Elaine on Seinfeld. It is funny!

Actually, mo (that woman really needs to go on a diet) did a pretty good job but bho… yikes!!! Maybe manbearpig can give him lessons.
Proving beyond all doubt that he is indeed only half black.
The Jerk?
Or, maybe half white, about 45% Arab, and about 5% black? Guess Arabs can’t dance either?
Obowmao’s version of the Pied Piper of Hamlin.

It was scary in Army Basic Training at Ft. Ord, Ca. in 1964. Many draftees / enlistees knew nothing about guns. And some were high school dropouts who were dumb, unmotivated, careless, or all three.
***
They didn’t pay attention to the training sergeants. And after the daily rifle range practice the sarge would order all to clear their rifles. Then point down range and pull the trigger. Every few days a shot rang out! Followed by extra K.P. or guard duty for the perps.
***
The worst of all was one late afternoon marching back to the barracks. A rifle went off–amidst a 300 man company. Fortunately, nobody was hit.

Firearms safety must be a lost art in India.

Very funny cicerokid & chapoutier, and true. Now a little reminder of The Jerk/ONE whatever. Perhaps a future quote from our gilded Prez?
The Jerk, 1979.
I thought they still used sling shots?
What strikes me about this is MO’s ugly plaid outfit and ridiculous little pink cardigan. Indian clothing is so beautiful. She couldn’t find time to choose a beautiful Churidar (Indian dress) for herself to honor the local culture?
These two are a collective international disaster.
vickisoup#17,
I know what you mean. Have you seen any outfit mo had on that did anything for her? You would think those who make her outfits would try to make her look like a first lady of the U.S. not someone who went to a second hand store. I actually liked the ‘oil spill’ outfit better than what she is wearing on this trip.
L
Cut MO some slack. Plaid is my favorite color. Khaki comes a close second, but I recommend that MO NOT wear khaki with a pith helmet in India. Too colonial, eh, what?
Sure would make you feel safe and secure waking up to the ring of a firearm going off in the middle of the night. Or, maybe the sound of home in Chi-cago?
vickisoup – I have a lovely sari a friend gave me. Some of the ladies had made fun of my Indian friend wearing them to company functions. For the next party I asked her to loan me one. I was terrified that one mistep could end up in a puddle of silk on the floor. Mrs. ‘Bambi would do well to invest in a few while there. They conceal a myriad of body flaws.
Anyone check to see if this individual was sober? Any links to terrorism? (perhaps just testing the security)
Just wondering.
These two are two the tackiest people I’m aware of that hold high position in our society. Their dress especially hers gives “out of style” new meaning…course let me preface that with i detest them both as people and citizens of America.
OT, just saw Rep. Cantor on Fox he does not get the influence the Tea Party had on the elections. Looks like we have future of same o, same o, with the good ‘o pals club.
Cris Wallace is a jerk.
Funny!
Guess he won’t be eating much wagyu beef in the next few days!
I watched that interview too, and I disagree with you. He sounds to me like he heard the tea parties loud and clear. He also seems to know that you can’t eat an elephant in one bite. If the Rs try do everything at once they’ll frighten and anger people, much like Obama did. They have to start small if there is to be any chance of success. I’m willing to give them a chance.
Chris Wallace is a tough interviewer and that’s what we need-real journalists asking the tough questions, demanding real answers and holding the pols feet to the fire. If they can’t stand up to tough interviews they won’t stand up to the firestorm from the left that they’re about to face.
A donkey. Can’t eat a donkey in one bite.
Maybe Suhas shot himself in the leg because he was told he was going to have to be on pooper scooper duty! A real man just can’t abide that. Just sayin is all.
Shouldn’t that be jackass?
you may be right, I saw his reply to the Tea Party question as an avoidance of the answer, he did not come out and say the Tea Party is/was responsible for a lot of the good that came out of the elections. IMO if not for the Tea party many and I mean many of the future congresscriters would not be going if not for the Tea Party. No firm commitment if they deserve a leadership role. That’s what I wanted to hear, something like Ms. Bachmann should have a strong voice in the leadership role. Do you not agree with that? If not, I see why you disagree with my opinion.
As far as Wallace goes, seems to me he’s a lot harder on Republicans than Dems, rarely do you see him go after a dem over and over to get a reply to a tough question. I don’t mind the tough questions, we need those, just hold true to the Fox motto ‘Fair and Balanced’ in an interview.

From the Halls of Montezuma
to the Coconut Groves of Mumbai!
I don’t know–something is missing.
Spirit de Corps!
The coconuts?
CongressCritter Henry Waxman (D-30 CA) will be holding hearing: Did Officer Suhas Chowdhury shoot himself with a coconut; should coconuts be regulated; should coconut owners be licensed; are coconuts now the weapon of choice of the Right Wing Militias. Called as witnesses are Mork from Ork, Chewbacca, Senator Diane Feinstein and other notable science fiction characters.
Film at 7 on the SciFi Network.

Let your coconut be like American Express:
Don’t Leave home without it.
Oh how I try, oh how I try…
They’re a collective national disaster, too.
No, don’t you get it? Guns just “go off”. Happens all the time. At least that’s what the media tell me.
see that’s what I don’t understand; shouldn’t that be ‘going on‘?
samething happened to this dude from kenya about 47 years ago….and now we have to centend with the result.
The security was specially selected for the Obamas!
That’s CORPSE since the esprit has departed!
