Party Time for Pelosi

Today is Nancy Pelosi’s reception celebrating the “accomplishments of the 111th Congress”:

null

Oddly enough, in 1876, ancestors of some of these same Democrats received invites to Custer’s victory celebration after Little Bighorn.

Most likely to show up at a reception honoring the accomplishments of the 111th Congress are freshmen members of the 112th Congress.

If you’ve been invited to Pelosi’s reception, walk down the Cannon House hallway until you come across a room with lot of toasts, applause, laughter, noisemakers and generally a raucious good time going on — then keep walking because that’ll be John Boehner’s party.

I’ve been asked to pass along the following reminder for attendees at Nancy Pelosi’s victory reception: Grief counselors will be available.

Update: I recall reading earlier somewhere (and of course I can’t find it now) that the reception — essentially a “farewell Speaker Pelosi” party — is privately funded. The Democrats finally found something I wouldn’t mind paying for and decided to pick up their own tab for a change? We’ll just never get on the same page.

It would be more appropriate to call the reception a wake, complete with a copy of the healthcare bill lying in state in a coffin in the corner.

People are still misunderstanding. They were, by their standards, pretty successful. They passed most of their hyper-left agenda. At the very least, it will take years to roll it back, and mostly likely, elements of it will remain. Success.

Successfully destroyed freedom, liberty, and opportunity in what was the greatest nation on earth. We’ve successfully turned it into a typical socialist quagmire.

I expect the Pelosi crowd to kick off the party with the Soviet National Anthem, the downing of vodka shots, followed by a lecturn-pounding speech by Richard Trumka of the AFLCIO – and forced signed pledges by all present to bring back the Iron Fist of Progressivism.

Passing government run health care is something they have been trying to do for 40 years. They did it by hook and crook but many Dems are very proud of that achievement.

By any means neccesary. What is odd is how very few of them ran on that “achievement”. However, a couple did run on it and it was “approved” by their voters as they were reelected. Patti Murray was one of them.

Those from districts where the health care bill was liked should be celebrating. However, to do so at the expense of those from districts where the bill was not liked is very tacky and inconsiderate. Gloating while many of their colleagues took a bullet shows a real lack of class.

I also wouldn’t celebrate ramming partisan bills down the throat of the American people. Their inability to work with the other side is a major flaw, not an accomplishment. They didn’t even try and many paid the price for that.

Gloating is exactly what it is, but not over the defeated members but on the American people, this is the same woman who paraded through a throng of protesters with that honking big gavel, she’s sticking the middle finger to us.

Probably by George Soros. He appreciates what they did to help him bring America to its knees.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds George Soros distributing swords money is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic Pelosi ceremony.
