Q: What Do the Tea Party and Obama’s Press Pool Have in Common?

By Doug Powers  •  November 15, 2010 09:51 PM

A: The Tea Party won’t say “thank you”, and neither will the increasingly ungrateful American press:

Sometimes on long trips, presidents and reporters can get a little tired of each other.

Maybe that explains an exchange today between President Obama and the press in Japan, at the end of a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and near the end of a 10-day Asia trip. This is from the pool report (POTUS stands for President of the United States):

As pool filed out, a reporter said, “Thank you, Mr. President.”

Someone told POTUS it was an Australian.

“I knew it must have been an Australian because my folks never say thank you,” Obama said.

At that, the entire American pool said in unison — admittedly with a bit of sarcasm — “Thank you, Mr. President.”

“Never say thank you”? They only helped put him in the White House — talk about high maintenance.

After seeing what happened — or better put, didn’t happen — this past week-and-a-half, the first order of White House business I expect in the coming weeks is the appointment of a Compliments Czar.

Come to think of it, it has been a while since, Couric, Williams and Sawyer have bent over and said, “thank you sir, may I have another.”
    Complacency is a killer.

    True ‘dat!

How Obama Got Elected And Palin Was Targeted

Barry seems to be hating life these days…

    …while Sarah is:
    loving life,
breaking records (her new TV show scored the highest ratings of any TLC launch ever),
and showing that she is much more of a leader than Barry.

Barry is “wee-weed-up” that Sarah “refudiated” him and she won Word of the Year!

Did anyone else see that the TSA is going to investigate the guy who recorded the video in San Diego where he told them he would not go through with the pat down search?

Michael J. Aguilar, chief of the TSA office in San Diego, called a news conference at the airport Monday afternoon to announce the probe. He said the investigation could lead to prosecution and civil penalties of up to $11,000.

TSA agents had told Tyner on Saturday that he could be fined up to $10,000.

“That’s the old fine,” Aguilar said. “It has been increased.”

When he tried to assert his rights, Tyner was told by a TSA supervisor on tape, “By buying your ticket you gave up a lot of rights.”

Notice that Obama’s ego is is so total that he refers to reporters who work for privately owned newspapapers as “my folks”. He refers to the Secretary of State as “my Secretary of State” and “My Secretary of Defense”. Everything is about him. Everybody serves him. He reminds me alot of Zod in Superman 11. Someone says “Thank God” and Zod says “No, thank Zod”.
I might be showing my age with that cinematic reference.
BTW, shouldn’t Obama thank Charlie Gibson at ABC News. Gibson began an interview with Obama by saying: “You gave an extraordinary speech…”

So the presidential propaganda press pool is disappointed with how they are being treated? Perhaps they should have studied up on how people normally get treated when they “give it up” on the first date. Good luck getting any shred of your self respect back.
