So much for bipartisanship: Obama calls GOP “hostage-takers,” Boehner a “bomb-thrower;” attacks lib critics, too
President Obama looks haggard and peeved and petulant at his White House press briefing on the tax deal, still underway as I type.
Exuding his typical gracelessness, he pouted about being forced into negotiations, whined about “tax cuts for the wealthy” as the “Holy Grail” of the Republican Party, and yes, referred to the GOP as “hostage-takers.”
“It’s tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed…the hostage was the American people.”
So much self-pitying stuff and nonsense packed into one plaintive wail.

I don’t listen to bho ever. Rush is talking about this now and is giving bho heck for the ‘hostage’ statement. bho is one little horrible person. It is never his fault, someone else gets the blame for everything.

Why do the government and the MSM keep referring to giving tax breaks to “millionaires and billionaires” in the top tax bracket, when this whole issue is about people who make over $250,000. They are not millionaires.
I thought they abandoned that rhetoric when they called out Boehner back in the summer. There’s snow on the ground.
If you are concerned about the deficit, cut spending. If you won’t cut spending, you have no credibility demanding that you take someone else’s hard earned money.
Tax increases cost more but add no more value. Rich people get rich by adding value and making sure they get value. Government is the only thing within capitalism where you don’t have to provide more value to get more revenue.
I don’t envy Obama. I feel bad for him. He’s going to be freight trained by the media that put him on a pedestal in the first place. Obama is in trouble, and he doesn’t have the skill nor the political capital to help himself out.
He needs to stop being confrontational because the more confrontational he is, and the less gracious he is, the harder it is going to be on him.

All he talks about is compromise but Obama’s idea of compromise is to stand as far left as possible and then demand that everyone else to “compromise” to his position.
I am expecting the spineless Republican leadership to pick up on that message and attack us conservatives right away.
For a guy who is calling for bipartisan cooperation and compromise, Obama sure slapped Boehner around pretty good. It will be interesting to see if/how Boehner responds. Let’s not react John, take it into a different direction.
He didn’t do anything before he was in office but give pretty speeches. Why would he be expected to offer anything of substance now?

Obeyme is learning for the first time in his life what ‘compromise’ is. He doesn’t know how to deal with it. He hasn’t completed Executive Theory 101 yet.
To John Boehner, focus on Obama’s description of what his job is: “To do everything I can to get the economy moving.”
Wrong. His job is to get the government out of the way so as to allow the economy to get back on its feet.
The government IS the problem. we are getting too much government interference (aka “help”) already.
Don’t argue that the GOP has better ideas about how government can help the economy unless it is that government has to get out of the way and out of our lives.

My favorite part of Obama’s tirade was his reference to the lower cost health care due to his brilliant passage of Obamacare. As Michelle mentions in another post, Obama has granted 222 waivers to companies to opt out due to rising health care premiums.

I am tired of pundits, including those who are claimed to be “conservative,” falsely claiming that Obama is smart, is good, means well, loves “his country,” (the United States of America?), and is not a racist or a bigot.
His actions and words from his past, from his books, from his time as a failed “community organizer,” (the area in Chicago where he “community organized” is a violent, crime ridden, rat infested sewer in which people live in terrible conditions, in poverty, and with poor education. How did that “community organizing” work out?), reveal that he a divider, a racist, a hate monger, and a narcissistic troublemaker.
I don’t have 100% faith in his leaving the position of president in 2012, but I have hopes that a better person replaces him, and that day can not come soon enough.
I only hope that the USA still exists then and is not irreperable after all the damage Obama and the Democrats have done.
Without cutting spending and reducing the size of governhment there is no real effort to balance the budget or improve the economy.
One does not improve the economy by raising taxes on anyone, including the most productive among us who provide the jobs and who actually move the economy.
Better to study Milton Freidman, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, et al, than continue down into the quagmire which is Keynesian economics and Marxist mentality.
