So much for bipartisanship: Obama calls GOP “hostage-takers,” Boehner a “bomb-thrower;” attacks lib critics, too

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 7, 2010 02:52 PM

President Obama looks haggard and peeved and petulant at his White House press briefing on the tax deal, still underway as I type.

Exuding his typical gracelessness, he pouted about being forced into negotiations, whined about “tax cuts for the wealthy” as the “Holy Grail” of the Republican Party, and yes, referred to the GOP as “hostage-takers.”

“It’s tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed…the hostage was the American people.”

So much self-pitying stuff and nonsense packed into one plaintive wail.

Have at it!

***

More: Next up, Obama calls John Boehner a “bomb thrower” and preens that he’s “itching for a fight” with the incoming House GOP majority.

And then: Obama spanks liberal critics of the tax deal for whining about his compromise. He cites their complaints over the “public option” in the Obamacare bill.

Someone had Crabby-os for breakfast this morning…

***

Here’s the hostage-taker video via The Right Scoop.

And here’s a reminder that he’s used the same rhetoric before. Flashback July 2010:

***

Save this video via Ian Schwartz: Obama vows the “unemployment rate is going to be going down.”

I thought they abandoned that rhetoric when they called out Boehner back in the summer. There’s snow on the ground.

If you are concerned about the deficit, cut spending. If you won’t cut spending, you have no credibility demanding that you take someone else’s hard earned money.

Tax increases cost more but add no more value. Rich people get rich by adding value and making sure they get value. Government is the only thing within capitalism where you don’t have to provide more value to get more revenue.

He needs to stop being confrontational because the more confrontational he is, and the less gracious he is, the harder it is going to be on him.

I am expecting the spineless Republican leadership to pick up on that message and attack us conservatives right away.

For a guy who is calling for bipartisan cooperation and compromise, Obama sure slapped Boehner around pretty good. It will be interesting to see if/how Boehner responds. Let’s not react John, take it into a different direction.

The government IS the problem. we are getting too much government interference (aka “help”) already.

Don’t argue that the GOP has better ideas about how government can help the economy unless it is that government has to get out of the way and out of our lives.

This man wouldn’t recognize the truth if it came up and bit him. He seems in no danger of starting to tell the truth anytime soon. He’s a liar, pure and simple. He claimed the GOP “opposed” the extension of middle-class tax rates (for him, a tax cut, which it isn’t) in favor of the wealthy. That’s wrong – republicans will be the ones holding the purse strings in the House next year after their magnificant take-over last month and there’s nothing BO can do about that. He’ll try to bargain with them as he already has and IF THEY BLOW IT, if they go down the same rotten path that they did the last time they gained control, (and this unemployment extension has already put a bad taste in my mouth Mr. Speaker to be) – the Tea Party will have meant nothing to any of them and I’ll quit the GOP for good.

I see all these LIBTARD Congress weasels talking about how NOT TAXING the so called WEALTHY more will COST THE GOVERNMENT BILLIONS OR TRILLIONS.
    NONSENSE/PUPPYCOCK. Does NO ONE UNDERSTAND??
Obama WANTS REDISTRIBUTION. He is not a liberal, he is not a Democrat. THEY THOUGHT HE WAS. He isn’t.
Taxing the productive WILL NOT BRING MORE IN, it will keep MILLIONS for GETTING JOBS. Those MILLIONS WOULD PAY IN.
Libtards,(MOST DEMOCRATS)are economically illiterate. Their ideology MAKES THEM, believe that taxing the RICH works.
It’s merely a POLITICAL TACTIC to DIVIDE by CLASS. It’s class warfare.
OBAMA compromised, becaues he had no choice. IF OBAMA wants to continue to fukk America, he needs to move forward.
TAXING THE RICH MORE, does NOT increase GOVERNMENT REVENUE. ECONOMIC GROWTH DOES.
The GOLDEN GOOSE is not RICH. The Golden goose PRODUCES RICHES for others.

    One more SIMPLE thought.

How does THE GOVERNMENT…taking more money from the PRODUCTIVE, from the ones who already pay a TON………………………………………………
    HELP THE ECONOMY??

How does the GOVERNMENT BLOWING SOMEONE ELSE’S MONEY.

    Help the economy to grow??

My favorite part of Obama’s tirade was his reference to the lower cost health care due to his brilliant passage of Obamacare. As Michelle mentions in another post, Obama has granted 222 waivers to companies to opt out due to rising health care premiums.

It amazes me that such a small group of left wing zealots can influence so much of our society. They still don’t realize what happened to them in November.

    Gus nailed it…they’re all sociopaths.

    hmmmm.

When Republicans complained about not being included in the preparation of legislation, they were taunted by the left with statements like “you lost!! deal with it!!”

When Republicans unified and opposed those pieces of legislation, they were labeled “the party of no”.

Now, Democrats in Congress are complaining about “not being included in negotiations between the WH and Republicans”.

My response?? “Dems, YOUI LOST!!! DEAL WITH IT!!!”

I hope they fillibuster….then THEY can be the “party of NO!!”

His actions and words have revealed that President Obama is a sinister, lying, mean spirited hater and divisionist.

In a speech he gave this week he falsely claimed that Republicans don’t want “The Middle Class” to have a tax cut.

    What a Bold Faced Lie!!!!

The Republicans are working to maintain tax cuts which already exist for EVERYONE, including the middle class.

There is Obama working on class envy, hate mongering, and envy, drumming up division among US citizens, pitting them against one another, in his sinister, mean spirited, malevolent way.

I am tired of pundits, including those who are claimed to be “conservative,” falsely claiming that Obama is smart, is good, means well, loves “his country,” (the United States of America?), and is not a racist or a bigot.

His actions and words from his past, from his books, from his time as a failed “community organizer,” (the area in Chicago where he “community organized” is a violent, crime ridden, rat infested sewer in which people live in terrible conditions, in poverty, and with poor education. How did that “community organizing” work out?), reveal that he a divider, a racist, a hate monger, and a narcissistic troublemaker.

I don’t have 100% faith in his leaving the position of president in 2012, but I have hopes that a better person replaces him, and that day can not come soon enough.

I only hope that the USA still exists then and is not irreperable after all the damage Obama and the Democrats have done.

Without cutting spending and reducing the size of governhment there is no real effort to balance the budget or improve the economy.

One does not improve the economy by raising taxes on anyone, including the most productive among us who provide the jobs and who actually move the economy.

Better to study Milton Freidman, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, et al, than continue down into the quagmire which is Keynesian economics and Marxist mentality.
