And yet another accused bomb plotter named…wait for it…
This morning, the feds arrested Muhammed Hussain, a Muslim convert formerly known as Antonio Martinez, in the Baltimore area on charges related to a bombing plot against military recruitment centers.
Scant details, but here’s the story via FNC:
An official told Fox News that the arrest was part of a sting operation and that there is no threat to the American public. The official said the suspect was given a phony bomb and was arrested after trying to detonate it.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the suspect’s goal was to blow up a military recruitment center in Baltimore County.
One official told Fox News that this is “another Portland-type case.”
Martinez is reportedly a U.S. citizen.

On a more disturbing note, the feds say this latest arrest is not connected to the still-unsolved spate of Beltway-area shootings at military recruitment stations and other military targets.

A naturalized citizen like the Times Square wannabe, perhaps? Someday being screened as a muslim will be part of the normal process, but obviously not given our current political leadership.
However, this is more evidence that law enforcement continues to work behind the scenes, despite likely pressure from within and without to bow to political correctness. I would not doubt, either, that some non-true believer muslims working undercover are involved with successful operations such as this. But they are likely few and must be carefully screened as well.

Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July 2002, and in New York on 11 Sept 2001, and have continually threatened to do so since? Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in London, and in downtown Manhattan , and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?
And I’m supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11 and 7/7. I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I’ll care when the cowardly so-called ‘insurgents’ in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children. I find it funny whenever its a muslim doing any sort of attack, the media and the people for the most step on egg shells for fear of offending them, though I find it more likely for fear of oil supplies and livining. But when a Christian does it, its drawn out and publicly lashed and pointed out the manner of his or her religion, in fact even Communist allied terrorist in the 60′s-80′s were let off much easier. Something to be said about striking fear I guess.
People will defend the Muslim as he’s likely to murder you, while being willing to make fun of the christain who in modern times will do nothing. He doesn’t ignore it. Those statements are not mutually exclusive. In 2000 1.9% of all religiously motivated hate crimes were directed toward Muslims. Predictably, in 2001 and 2002 it was over 20 and 10 percents, respectively. But since then it has evened out to around 8-8.5% every year. Four times higher than pre-9/11.
But if you do want to compare the two, the hate crimes against Muslims were much more violent. Over 1/3 of all hate crimes against Muslims involved aggravated or simple assault. that number is less than 10% for Jewish people. In fact, there were in gross numbers, more aggravated assaults against Muslims than Jews (11 to 9), despite far greater number of Jewish Americans and far greater number of total incidents.
Nor are hate crime statistics the only, or even best, measure of islamophobia. This law is proof of that.

chappie, apparently you’re unaware of the case in NJ where a woman was denied a protective order against her estranged husband because his previous raping of her was “consistent with his religious beliefs”. Sharia in action in the U.S. It’s already here, wake up.
No. I said that being true and saying that this is the greatest period of islamophobia are not mutually exclusive. And I said that hate crimes against Muslims were generally more violent than those against Jews.
One: The judge NEVER cited sharia law. He used the husband’s religious beliefs as one component of his ruling to speak to possible criminal intent. The same way a judge may take into account the religious beliefs of a fundamentalist Christian parent accused of child abuse for seeking “faith healing” in lieu of medical attention for their child. It is a fine, but very important distinction. You can agree or disagree whether this should be a valid component for determining criminal intent, but it is far, far different from saying that we have ceded our legal system to sharia.
2. Even ignoring all of the above, the judge was overruled on appeal. So –yeah!– the system works and once again, there is no Sharia law in the US.
Sometimes it takes a tragedy to wake people up to the reality around them.
And no, I did not time my previous post to be at 9:11. Some higher authority must have caused that.
