Panic: House Dems yank tax deal rule off floor; Update: “What a screw-up”

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 16, 2010 12:55 PM

Interesting goings-on in Washington. On the House floor just now, Democrats have just withdrawn the rule on the tax deal and moved on to a different bill providing technical corrections for the bankruptcy law.

Jo Maney from GOP Rep. David Dreier’s office explains: “Dems just pulled tax bill rule…they can amend it on the floor without having to go to back to committee. But it’s unclear how they will proceed at this point.”

***

Jamie Dupree is on the House floor interviewing Dems about the mess. He tweets: “What a screw up” one floor staffer just told me; House Dems “in the process of discussing” said one top Dem…Some Dems say a confusing rule & parliamentary situation has led to lack of votes for tax deal.”

Is it possible that the House is looking to pass the Senate Tax bill compromise in it’s entirety, and then vote for ANOTHER RECONCILLIATION to it that CHANGES the agreement? Then they could use the back door reconcilliation process in the Senate to pass the update with a simple up or down vote bypassing the 60 vote rule of the senate.

Of course, if they did this AGAIN, there could be no further legislation of ANY kind passed in the Senate once this BAD FAITH approach was taken. This would mean that the House will need to WAIT until the Senate has passed EVERY POSSIBLE ITEM on the Democrat wish list for the 111th Congress. Which would explain why Harry Reid has stated he will be voting on bills right up to the last minute of this lame duck session. He will need Democrats to continue voting on RECONCILLIATION bills until the very end!

Much worse than that frankly. Heterosexuals will abandon the military in droves. Seeing guys making out in showers will be just too repulsive.

To make up for this, look for a return of the draft, the real goal, since the new draft will also be for those domestic troops Obama wants.

The thought of a kid on the front lines waiting for the enemy to attack and he has to listen to two or more dudes licking and humping each other in the next foxhole — it’s too much to comprehend.

Look, it is basic: Let open homosexuals serve when they let me shower with the women.

This is so very true. When my unit deployed to Iraq in 2004 (we were smack dab in the middle of Sadr City the whole time). This was an MP unit (I was a mechanic) that new they would be doing a lot of door kicking and convoy escorts. our unit command did not want any distractions. The chain of command went as far to have married couples in the unit separated by having either the husband or wife go to our sister unit and vice versa. This way the married couples did not deploy together leading to less distraction (i.e. hubby more worried about keeping his wife safe than paying attention to his job).

So as you can see distractions are a serious thing in war, so why add one with the repeal of DADT?

If they repeal DADT it will cause serious disruptions in the war zone. As it is, living arrangements are already tight and so are the bathroom/shower facilities. If DADT is repealed and any soldier is forced to bunk/shower with an openly gay/lesbian soldier then you bet you will see challenges to the seperation of males/females when it comes to latrines and housing. It is distractions just like this that need to be avoided. Remember this are, on average, 18-25 year olds. Many have never been on their own and will test the limits and boundries to see what they can get away with. I am sure any other former NCO’s out there could tell you stories about soldiers they were in charge of and the limits they tried to push just to test and see what they could get away with.

When I was drafted in 1971, the Drill Sergeants were gay. They would rape the fat draftees. This is a non-reported problem in the military.

With an openly gay force, the pressure will only increase and it will still go unreported. What we will have is heterosexual males dropping out and more homosexual troops looking for a good time entering.
