Coming Soon: ‘Democrats’ — A Steven Spielberg Production

Consistent with the claim that Democrat setbacks have been a problem with messaging rather than voters rejecting their policies, it’s being reported that Nancy Pelosi is turning to Hollywood for (more) help:
Midway through Philip Rucker and Paul Kane’s story about Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s transition to minority leader comes an interesting bit of news. The California Democrat, vilified by Republicans in the last election, has turned to director Steven Spielberg for help rebranding House Democrats.
Lawmakers say she is consulting marketing experts about building a stronger brand. The most prominent of her new whisperers is Steven Spielberg, the Hollywood director whose films have been works of branding genius. Lawmakers said Spielberg has not reported to Pelosi with a recommendation.
Given how last month’s election turned out for the Dems, the perfect choice for someone to put their story to celluloid would have been Irwin Allen, but unfortunately he’s no longer with us.
What might Spielberg’s production dedicated to House Democrats be titled? “San Fran Nan and the Temple of Doom”? “Tax Me If You Can”? “Jurassic Pork”? “Close Encounters With the Third World”? “Dude, Where’s My Gavel?” Time will tell.
Update: Doug Ross spotlights something Spielberg might consider using as a logo for the new Democrats — which is, fittingly, just a re-branded logo of the same old Democrats.
Update II: That was fast — Spielberg’s already finished his first production (as inspired by Bloodthirsty Liberal):

Update III: Spielberg’s rep says he’s not going to re-brand the Dems — give them lots of money, yes, but re-brand, no.
Could it be that even Steven Spielberg isn’t creative enough to want to tackle a re-write of a script that’s as unsalvageable as Nancy Pelosi’s?
