Guess Who Pelosi Blames for Making Her Move Out of the Speaker’s Office?

It’s a tired cliché at this point, but in the absence of lucidity sometimes that’s all one can manage cling to:

“We still would have lost the election because we had 9.5% unemployment. Let’s take it where that came from. The policies of George W. Bush and the Republican support for his initiatives, tax cuts are for the wealth, recklessness by some,” Minority Leader Pelosi told CNN.

Nancy sure doesn’t like Bush, and you know what that probably means — she bought his book!

As for Pelosi’s new Minority Leader’s office, she’s in a sad state of denial and says she won’t be staying there long. Why? Because of course the Democrats will win back the House in 2012 and she’ll regain the Speakership –unless Bush screws it up for her again.

Watching Pelosi show CNN’s John King the office into which Bush forced her to move for some reason reminded me of what magician Alfred Borden said in The Prestige while being led into a prison cell: “You think this place can hold me, Angier?” It did, by the way.
