Civility Watch: Palm Beach Post columnist smears Tea Party parents of Giffords’ doctor

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 20, 2011 10:00 AM

Wow. Just wow.

Palm Beach Post columnist Jose Lambiet is using the Tucson massacre to attack the parents of one of Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ surgeons because they happen to be GOP donors and Tea Party supporters.

Never mind the inanity of holding a son responsible for his mother and father’s ideological views and campaign contributions.

The idea of attacking the parents’ wealth and political activism to mock the doctor and ply the Blame Righty line is just…gross:

The name of Michael Lemole, the University of Arizona neurosurgeon who’s been treating U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ brain injuries since the Jan. 8 shooting, may sound familiar to Palm Beachers.

That’s because Lemole’s mom and pop, heart surgeon Gerald Lemole and his wife, Emily, live in a $7.1 million house on The Island. They also own a more modest $3.5 million house, also in Palm Beach.

And while Michael is saving the life of the moderate Democratic congresswoman, Gerald and Emily are more into the far, far Right — including Tea Party goofball Christine O’Donnell!

According to campaign filings, Lemole’s parents have showered with thousands in contributions — $15,700 in 2010 alone — Tea Party candidates vying for national offices.

Ironically: Among their favorites are some of the very people whose controversial rhetoric and campaigns are said to provide a fertile ground for the likes of Jared Loughner, who allegedly injured Giffords and killed six others in Tucson. (emphasis added)

Gotta love that passive voice to try and escape accountability for trafficking a baseless smear: “Are said to provide.”

But remember…being a Tea Party-bashing liberal means never having to say you’re sorry.

You got to love it when all the evidence points to Loughner being the killer is called alleged, but when none of the evidence points to Tea Party or anything on the right being at fault it is still considered a fact by the left.

You can always tell the nutcase sympathizers/enablers: they simply cannot bring themselves to deal with objective reality, preferring always (at least as relates to actions they don’t want to be blamed for) to stay in the world of “nuanced supposition”. Thus, Loughner cannot be said to have actually injured or killed anyone, despite the absolute certainty of the facts of the case. Rather, he can only be “alleged” to have done so.

In all actuality it is more out of legal necesity than anything else to use the word alleged. This is to avoid screwing up the case by giving the lawyer ammo (can I say ammo now…)to say that their clients rights to being presumed innocent are being violated and that any potential jury pool is being tainted.

Here is the Orwellian translation of that situation in a liberals mind:

Rich Conservatives are bad, becasue they donate to Conservative causes that are not appoved by the “enlightened elite”

Rich Liberals are good, because they donate to the causes of “the greater good of society” (i.e. liberal ideals).

As I said on that thread, there have been several other threads where I discuss my views on abortion in much greater detail. You are welcome to seek these out.

But I am not your little monkey-boy. I am not required to produce a treatise on any particular position just because you think you are entitled to it. Nor are you particularly clever in asserting the shallowness of a position simply because you are too lazy and intellectually fraudulent to see if I have said more about it in the past.

You’re *never* going to change a Progressive’s mind, (they lack the functionality…), that’s the mistake too many of the Punditry make. Instead your thrust must be over their stunted Humanity to their audience.
Of the multitude of methods, my personal favorites involve asking “have you ever stopped beating your wife?” queries feared at the Progie’s favorite cause. The immediately go so ballistic that any audience sprints for cover to avoid being awash in oral-foam.
