John McCain: New Improved ‘Centrist’ Obama Easier to Work With, My Friends

By Doug Powers  •  February 4, 2011 10:50 AM

**Written by Doug Powers

Do you think he actually wonders why he lost in 2008?

The president has become more centrist, which makes him easier to work with, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Thursday.

Speaking with Bloomberg Television a day after a private meeting with President Obama, McCain said he could picture working with Obama on several issues going forward.

“I think there’s a number of issues we could work on together, and I think it’s pretty clear that the president has really pivoted to a much more centrist position, which I think makes it much more for us easier to work with him,” McCain said.

John McCain often reminds me of a trout that just got hooked and is thrilled that the fisherman has agreed to meet him halfway.

The truth is that BOTH candidates in 2008 were ineligible. McCain was born in Panama, not on a military base. Obama was born a British subject. McCain agreed to not raise Obama’s ineligibilty after the Senate passed a fig leaf declaring him eligible. That resolution, by the way, noted that McCain’s two citizen parents were what made McCain eligible. Obama voted for that resolution, apparently agreeing that two citizen parents are required for natural born citizenship.

And his father and mother were US citizens. His father was stationed at the canal on official duty with the Navy.

If not being born on a military base is the criteria to not make one a citizen then you have a whole lot of people in America, born to parents who are US citizens that you would have to deem non citizens (including me).

Incorrect. Any person born abroad to parents that are American citizens that are on official duty in a foreign country are to be considered natural born citizens. I went through this when I joined the Army in 1992. I was born in a small town outside of Stuttugart Germany (not on a military base) I have a statement from the State Department stating that I am a natural born citizen and am afforded all the rights of a natural born citizen.

Citizen, yes, natural born citizen, eligible to be President, no.

Natural born citizen = born in this country to two citizen parents

The statement is to verify that I am a natural born citizen even though my birth certificate is in German. You do not have to be born in the United States to be a natural born citizen. Here is a little bit of what is said on the subject regarding legislation dating back to 1790 (in other words our founding father’s):

“natural born Citizen” includes children born outside the United States to citizen parents. This provision provides comfort and certainty to members of the American military and foreign services, as well as expatriate families, that their children, too, are eligible to run for president. These children are no less qualified than children born on American soil, and they should not be treated differently.

In this context, refusing to vote for the lesser of two evils is effectively voting for the greater of two evils.

    McCain is a doofus.

Zero is an enemy agent of the highest order with the team and the power to destroy our alliances, our defenses, our economy, our liberty, even our raison d’etre.

Get real, we are in the greatest danger we have ever faced as a nation, and owning the House, and even maybe the Senate, cannot block all the evil this man can do.

I do feel quite sick to my stomach that I had to vote for McCain, but if I had voted for Obama it is clear that my stomach would suffer much worse from the obligatory hari-kari.

    H. Ross Perot proved that one.

Then again, Perot’s shepharding of the Clinton victory (assuming it wouldn’t have happened without Perot anyway) resulted in the seismic shift in Congress in favor of the Republicans and jumpstarted the rise of the alternative media.

If H.W. had won instead, it could well have resulted in the further marginalization of conservatives, and probably some more “bipartisan” initiatives (on the heels of things like the Americans with Disabilities Act) that Clinton may not have been able to get away with doing.

The sesimic shift lasted long enough for the GOP to take the country down to the “first and goal”, where they promptly fumbled and turned it over to the Dems.

John McCain is officially insane. There is no doubt in my mind. He actually has been taken in by Obama after all the PROOF that Obama is a marxist. Brain dead. Unplug that guy and let him go quietly into oblivion. ANYONE who is fooled by the sudden turn of Obama into a centrist is crazy. Obama is a commited marxist. He has not changed his agenda, only his rhetoric. And McCain is just STOOPID enough to fall for it!!

Urkel’s action on the drilling moratorium and his plan to ignore Vinson’s ruling on UrkelCare should have been a minimal clue to McCain that Urkel hasn’t changed a bit.

I don’t think McCain fell for a thing. McCain is doing what he’s always done…whatever is best for McCain, like the Gang of 14.

It shows how dangerous an unprincipled RINO is. If McCain is willing to help Oblahblah now, he cares as much for the constitution as Urkel does.

Truly sad that Arizona voters were taken in by him.
