Courtesy of Targeted Victory, this is what top-down, Washington-directed narrative-shaping of the Wisconsin showdown looks like. OFA’s Astroturf footprint can’t be whitewashed (click for full-size):
The uniformity of the copy of the tweets indicates that these were not spontaneous declarations of support, but rather a calculated and crafted message coming from the leadership of OfA or the DNC. Perhaps most tellingly, with the exception of the Wisconsin OfA and a couple others, the tweets of support ended on February 18th. It seems that when the DNC and OfA felt they were getting too close to the issue, they began issuing statements blaming outside forces for “exaggerating” their role, one they clearly relished in initially, and they largely ceased pushing the protests over their social media platforms.
Shhhhhhh…
