The Harry Reid Demagogue of the Day

Yesterday, vicious Republicans were targeting cowboy poets. Today Republicans are going after little kids. Tomorrow it’ll be little kids who also happen to be cowboy poets, including their puppies and kittens:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) once again attacked Republicans’ budget proposal on Wednesday, claiming its cuts target “little children” and “poor little boys and girls.”

He added that the spending bill, which will face a vote in the Senate later on Wednesday afternoon, is “insulting” to the American people.

“H.R. 1 is a mean-spirited bill that would cut the heart out of the recovery that we have in America today,” said Reid. “It goes after little children, poor little boys and girls … we want them to learn to read.”

If Harry gets his way, the first word kids will read will be “bankrupt” — which somehow qualifies as highly compassionate.

It’s now almost impossible to even see the Democrats in Congress behind the throng of little kids, muppets and cartoon aardvarks they’ve barricaded themselves behind.

…Did he seriously use the phrases “poor little boys and girls” and “mean-spirited”? Those are words I’d expect to hear from a junior high “Intro to Debate” unit, not from the Senate Majority Leader.

And thanks so much for the thread pic, Doug. Now I’m having “It” flashbacks with Harry’s face under the grease paint. I’m blaming any nightmares on you.

Hey, Harry! If you want the children to learn to read, why not hire and promote teachers based on merit?

Isn’t that clown pic from Stephen King? Freaky story and freaky movie, man – put me off clowns for good.

Could be why I dislike Reid, as well.
