    I have to say, I have taken a few trains in my day. The experiences were really great. It is sad to see that form of travel ending. I took a train down to Miami in the 1960′s. Two days and two nights, spent mostly in the bar car. Then, in the 1990′s, my husband and I went out to Oregon in a sleeper car. In fact, they made a mistake in our booking and we ended up with TWO sleepers, next to each other! It was heaven. The food was good and the rhythm of the train made for great sleeping. If you are not in a hurry, it is a fun experience.

    I had the pleasure of a 2 day-3 night, 3 train ride. It was great for me and my then 7 yr old daughter. There`s just nothing like the rhythm of the rails for sleeping, as you said, and eating your meals while the scenery goes by at 80 mph. They set us out in Detroit Lakes, MN at 5:20 am, in the middle of the street. Yep, there we stood after the train pulled out, a pile of luggage, looking at morning commuters laughing at us ! Ha ha ! What an adventure !

    As for naming the station after Bite Me, a loser for the loser !

    Interesting note. I worked an off-duty job at an auto auction that sold the engine seized “Cash for Clunkers” vehicles. 90% of them had Obama stickers on them.
