Finding Marizela: Please support donation fund, keep spreading word

Seattle-area media are helping spread the word about the new videos we posted yesterday of missing UW student Marizela Perez. Marizela’s dad, Edgar, who is my first cousin, talked to local Fox affiliate KCPQ about the search for Emem last night:
There is now a donation fund to help the family defray the costs of the ongoing search.
Make checks payable to FASA sa UW
Mail to:
Ethnic Cultural Center
care of FASA
Condon Hall, 7th Floor
1100 NE Campus Pkwy, Box 35560
Seattle, WA 98195
Make sure to put “Marizela Perez” name on memo line.
I’ll also be embedding a Paypal link soon for those who want to donate online.
Deepest thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and help.

I will do so asap. Is there a reward being offered Michelle? Sometimes money gets people doing more to help find Marizela. I still talk to God to bring Marizela home safe and for all involved.
L
God bless you and your family, Michelle.
Thank you KCPQ. If the first two calls to her cell phone rang, the rough location should be known. Please tell me the police have that information. Also, if she was headed to the UW library, why go north on Brooklyn? If she turned left on 50th and headed for the freeway, did she stick out her thumb at I-5? If so, did she have a passport with her – Vancouver?
I’m sorry for the questions, this really bothers me. I woke up the other day still racking my brain. Thousands of times worse for the family. I’ll dig out my checkbook at home…
Letget: Family is looking into this.
AlohaGuy: Police are pursuing all these questions. We’re doing everything we can to keep her name and case out there and enlisting all the help we can get from eyes, ears, boots on the ground.
Who’s the guy walking with her, or is he?
I am still remembering her daily in my prayers. I wish I lived closer to physically help in the search, but I will continue to pray.
Thanks Michelle. Please take care of you, we need you to be our Michelle. If the family does decide to put up a reward, I will send a donation. Sorry, it might not be very big though.
L
No, she was alone as far as we know.
Would a money order be acceptable?
Yes, that would be fine. THANK YOU.
Where was she headed if she went north out of the Safeway? That is away from the campus, isn’t it? Was it the Suzallon Library where she was supposed to meet friends?
I just made a small donation and it will go out in the mail today. God be with you all Michelle.
L
Can you give us some information about her car, make, model, color, etc.? We can keep a look out for it as we’re going about our daily business.
You’re welcome. I get paid this Friday and sending it out first thing will be top priority.
May God bless you, your family and especially Marizela.
Excellent. I hope no one minds me speculating out loud, just in case…
Had to think about this for about .01 nanoseconds. FASA looks like a good organization, but I’m personally concerned about the Perez’s “putting their life on hold.” Something like this can drain a family’s resources pronto. Would the Pay Pal donations go directly to them?
Check on it’s way, sealed it with a prayer.
Who could mind? We never know which idea or ideas could be the missing link. Plus, it gets others to put on their thinking caps who might not have done so already.
#18 was to AlohaGuy #15; sorry for the omission.
Michelle, I don’t see the PayPal link.
Sorry, Aloha. I didn’t read the other posts when I asked my questions. I just looked at a map of Seattle and location of the Safeway, and wondered “Why go north?”
Still praying that she is somewhere safe just waiting to be found. (That sounds strange to those who have never suffered from depression. Believe me, it is not.)
Also am in prayer for your entire family. I’ll repeat someone else’s question…will the payments to paypal go directly to the family.
I will keep checking back for that PayPal link. Probably the easiest and safest.
FOR ALL that Michelle has done for all of us, this is the least we can do in her time of need. I encourage all to do whatever they can to help out. This has got to be heartbreaking and still she is a trooper and continues to carry on. All the best to you and you family.
We LUVYA Michelle. JIM
I, also, will return intermittently for the PayPal link.
No problem. It’s a good question. And she didn’t come out, look around and have that “which way should I go?” look – she came purposefully out that direction.
I got stuck in traffic and got to the Safeway just after everyone left on Saturday…but I did notice that there was a large farmer’s type market in a parking lot just north of the store. If Marizela was at the store on the previous week, could she have walked through the market? Maybe someone there would recognize her – did she have any special interest in a craft or an art style that she might have had a conversation with someone about that subject?
Just thinking out loud – keep us posted if there are any leads or updates from SPD that might hone in on a new location to be searched.
Modest donation on the way from The Powers That Be crowd. With prayers.
Thanks. Covered that — our volunteers walked through the market with flyers.
Michelle,
One other thing really surprised me. When I went into the store to see if your group had already left, the clerk I spoke with had no idea what I was even asking about – the manager went and got a flyer for him and it was literally the first time he had heard anything about it! I only saw the one flyer and it wasn’t really out in the entrance area where every customer walking in and out could see it.
Also, I know last weekend was the end of the Girl Scout cookie sales. Did you happen to check with the troops in that area to see which kids might have been selling on the Saturday that Marizela disappeared?
I can only imagine what her parents are going through and I am praying for some helpful tips very soon!
Michelle, I don’t know what is involved, but it could not hurt to contact AMW.com. They have children, it seems Marizela might be in that frame, to get millions looking. We watch this every week to see if we can find anyone missing or scums that… Please, contact them to help, it couldn’t hurt.
L
Letget,
That’s a great idea! There is also Washington’s Most Wanted which deals with cases specific to this area. It’s also on KCPQ and they seem to be the channel that is giving this story the most coverage.
Sorry for your missing relative.
Just can’t get over the hypocrisy of soliciting funds for;
The Filipino American Student Association via the “Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity Ethnic Cultural Center” at UW.
In any other circumstances, you all would be calling for the elimination/defunding of such a hyphenated, America hating/commie/socialist/”my people” group. But since it’s for a good cause….
planecashlaw#34,
Wow, I can not believe you would bring this up at this time. A child is missing, family members are frantic for her safe return and you bring this up? If you want to engage Michelle and us sometime when we aren’t praying for a childs return, do so. YOU are below a slug slime! Gotta ask, do YOU know anything about this? I might ask Michelle to look into you.
L
Michelle, keeping you all in my prayers. I’ll donate once the Paypal link is up.
@planecrashlaw: I can’t believe you would use someone’s family crisis as an opportunity to criticize her. Where is your sense of decency?
@planecrashlaw just couldn’t seem to help the snark!
People like him have to state their opinions even when they are uncalled for. I for one did not wish ill to the Dem who was shot in AZ just because she was a Democrat. I pray for her recovery. After all, we are human first and our politics are way down the list.
AMW is a great idea Letget!
Will donate as soon as paypal link is up.
Please don’t lose hope Michelle. She’s out there and all of our prayers are for her to be found!
Michelle: I’ll be waiting for the paypal link. Wish I was in Seattle (me>>NC) to help directly. I hope that all the tips, leads, and brain power on this case (including the help on this blog from faithful posters) helps you find Marizela asap.
Praying…
Random thought Michelle: perhaps you’ve done this already, but you have been on a lot of shows on FNC, including O’Reilly and Hannity where Ive seen you the most. Perhaps they can devote some air time to reach their millions of viewers about what is going on, show pictures of Marizela etc?
That I can and will do. God’s speed.
Michelle is on F&F in just a few minutes to speak, I believe, on Pelosi’s “morality” comments on the incredibly tiny spending cuts.
Maybe the hosts will mention her personal situation, I mean they just asked Michael Flatley about his phantom illness.
And F&F comes through. Well, done.

I feel sorry for you that you can’t see the correctness in Michelle asking for help to people who consider her a friend. I wonder about the size of your heart that you can’t feel how tragic this is and realize that those of us who are not in the Seattle area look for a way to help. Giving money that can be used for flyers or ads, a reward, etc. is a small thing to do for a friend.
I won’t criticize you in any other way but hope you never have to go through what Michelle’s family is going through. You’re to be pitied.
Sorry again about the quote problem. I am just not a technical person I guess, or careless at least.
