Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Starving Seniors’ Math Just a Little Off

On Monday, Nancy Pelosi warned against a devious Republican plot to snuff out the lives of the elderly via a planned starvation that, if allowed to happen and if not for brave Democrats standing firm, would make the siege of Leningrad pale in comparison. Said Pelosi:

“In one of the bills before us, 6 million seniors are deprived of meals — homebound seniors are deprived of meals. People ask us to find our common ground, the middle ground. Is middle ground 3 million seniors not receiving meals? I don’t think so. We’ve got to take this conversation from a debate about numbers and dollar figures and finding middle ground there to the higher ground of national values. I don’t think the American people want any one of those 6 million people to lose their meals or the children who are being thrown off of Head Start and the rest of it.”

At the Washington Post, Glenn Kessler in his “Fact Checker” column breaks down the numbers. Read the whole thing to discover that the source data for Pelosi’s claims came from the busiest agency in Washington, DC: “The Institute for Facts and Figures I Pulled Out of My Butt.”

The conclusion:

In a city with overheated rhetoric, Pelosi’s statement ranks high on this year’s list of bloviated bluster. It’s bad enough that she repeatedly mixed up 6 million meals and 6 million people — and made no effort to correct the record after her statement was reported in the media. But the figure she used appears to have been invented itself, with little basis in fact.

The pro-abortion ex-Speaker likes to speak of of “The Word” and even invoked the Gospel of Matthew to justify continued outrageous levels of government spending. But maybe what she really should spend some time focusing on is the 9th Commandment.

Why should Nancy heed the 9th Commandment?

She certainly doesn’t heed the “Thou shalt not murder” commandment with her fanatical pro-abortion stance.

    Thanks Rogue and Happy,
I’ve been doing the laundry, cooking, etc, for years, so it’s not exactly new to me.

Maybe if she did more around the house, her back would be stronger and she wouldn’t need surgery so much.

When she gets well, have her start a vegetable garden, churn butter, make her own bread, etc. A little tough love goes a long way.

That depends on the distance to the nearest gun store/divorce attorney.

I propose a Corp of Devious Republicans in every city in America to scour the streets removing the corpse of elderly who died due to the proposed budget cuts. This would be known as the Devious Republican Corpse Corp. Weaker Nancy Pelosi, John McCain, John Dingle, Dingy Harry and other members of Congress would be give special IDs so the Devious Republican Corpse Corp would not gather up their decaying hulks by mistake.

This Corp is for Devious Republicans only-others need not apply,

It’s going to be like this without the government don’t cha’ know ?

We haven’t had normal times in quite some time. She does what she can when she can. Car accident years ago did more damage than we thought at the time.

Pelosi referencing “The Word” is a joke. Her religious beliefs are on par with Douglas Adams. Despite any pronouncement she’s made or any house of God she may have, or ever will enter, she is an atheist. Whether she will admit it or not. Her actions are what matter.

She is quite possibly the politician that sickens me the most.

I wish I could narrow my selection down like that. For me, there’s way too many choices and they change weekly. Must be my feminine side.

    LOL Cheddar.

With her, it’s a different kind of sick. Different than Kerry, or even Barney Fwank.

When she speaks, it’s as if there’s nothing going on between her ears. Like Yul Brynner’s robot in WestWorld. Just a bunch of flashing led’s with plastic stretched around it.

btw: There’s supposed to be a remake of WestWorld in the making.

She found out it’s not so easy to be a raging (whore) sycophant in the real world among people who have real values.

It just goes to show her flagrant contempt and disregard for members of the faithful. “I’ll just say a couple of things about the word” to prove how I am religious.

I’m pretty sure anybody like that is arrested in Nancy’s neighborhood. Demoncrats only like the poor as a tool for power and money, they don’t want to actually see them.
