The search for Marizela; Plus Seattle fundraiser/benefit concert in May
There has been much going on behind the scenes and I’ll have more to say when there’s more to say, but to answer some of the local media who have contacted me this morning:
Yes, in response to a local Seattle-area blog post yesterday, we are searching more parks and other locations for Marizela with the help of an amazing, generous, and dedicated team of experts who have flown in from all across the country — including Arkansas, Maryland, Texas, and Colorado.
No, we did not authorize the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department to contact anyone about the search.
And yes, we will have more to say AFTER we allow our team to do their work.
We said we wouldn’t rest until we found Marizela.
We won’t. We aren’t.

For Seattle-area readers, Marizela’s friends are holding a benefit concert and fundraiser in May to support the family’s continuing search efforts.
Thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers!

I was disappointed at the publishing of this article, Search for missing woman in Discovery Park
It appears that the family of Marizella did not inform the news about this search. That tells me more, for I wondered if the family wanted that search plan revealed.
I oppose the printing of such information, the notification of a planned search, for it allows time for those who read it and have mischief on their minds to tamper with the search area, thus making it more difficult to search successfully, and it can also create falsely generated leads by pranksters. Moreover such advanced notice, which does not mention Marizella’s name, or the family’s name, gives notice to any ne’er do wells who might have abducted or done harm to Marizella to become involved in either tampering with evidence, removing evidence, or creating false leads.
Those who will take part in the search can be notified in person, in a meeting or planning assembly, and reminded to keep it quiet. Blaring such information over public venues, tipping one’s hand, is not recommended.
Bottom line, it is most often best to refrain from telegraphing your moves in serios cases, such as while defending yourself, or while searching for a missing loved one. The bad guys don’t need to know what’s going on, and the good guys can be notified in private.
Ditto ! I`m sorry I can do no more than pray for a wonderful outcome, but pray I have and pray I will !
Still praying daily.
Have you checked to see if she crossed the Canadian border?
I continue with prayers. Unspoken prayers throughout the day at work, and spoken prayers at night.
Please add me to the others who pray numerous times a day for everyone involved with this issue.

Glad that this is getting some media attention and that a lot of people are now aware–praying for a good outcome!
Brother, you just missed a great opportunity to stay quiet.
We’re still out here, praying every free moment for Marizela, you, your family and all those missing.
Trust in God.
It appears that government at all levels simply can’t stop intruding where they are not wanted or needed. Whatever happened to “first, do no harm.”
Still praying for a quick and safe return of this young lady.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
I’m not prayed out yet, and there are still plenty of candles to light at my church.
Michelle, I know you’re sick with worry, but you gotta eat something. Please take care. Hugs and prayers from Mass.
Hopefully the police are still working this case. Limited resources often require them to focus on other issues.
I saw the other 2 missing women from the area. Is that all that are missing? Is there a mischief maker there somewhere or did she just disappear on her own? If it is the former, people in that area should be very worried about who is running loose in their neighborhoods. Any reports of suspicious charactors around that Safeway?
Praying for you and yours and wishing you good luck in your search efforts.

May the Lord guide the searchers to Marizela.

(((HUGS))) of support!
Michelle, continuing to pray for Marizela and your family.
We certainly hope this isn’t the case but this is an individual the Police surely are looking into? Came across this today in our local news.

We PRAY there is no connection! Our thoughts and prayers continue MM.
In reading Rebecca Manley Pippert’s book “Out of the Salt Shaker & into the World”, she relates her practical experience introducing Christ Jesus to the lost and the seeking. Much of her ministry has been to college students in the Pacific Northwest. More than one of her illustrative stories has made me think of Miss Marizela, with the hope and the prayer that Mrs. Malkin’s dear niece would find safe harbor, inner redemption, and reunion with her anxious family through an encounter with a humble emissary of Christ. She herself surely has so much to offer to the world around her.
Until the day!
