To Fundamentally Transform America or Not to Fundamentally Transform America, That is the Question
**Written by Doug Powers
President Obama in late October of 2008:
We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.
President Obama yesterday on why we should avoid Paul Ryan’s budget plan:
But the way this plan achieves those goals would lead to a fundamentally different America than the one we’ve known throughout most of our history.
Ryan’s only trying to help the president fulfill a campaign promise, so what’s the problem?
Speaking of President Obama’s “budget deficit” speech yesterday, on the topic of American greatness, it sounds like we might be in for some “shining entitlement programs on a hill” style campaign ads next year:
“‘There but for the grace of God go I,’ we say to ourselves, and so we contribute to programs like Medicare and Social Security, which guarantee us health care and a measure of basic income after a lifetime of hard work; unemployment insurance, which protects us against unexpected job loss; and Medicaid, which provides care for millions of seniors in nursing homes, poor children, and those with disabilities,” Obama said. “We are a better country because of these commitments. I’ll go further – we would not be a great country without those commitments.”
A tear just came to my eye as I pictured people emigrating from war-torn, oppressed nations waiting patiently in line at Ellis Island, coming to the US with nothing but the shirts on their backs and a dream of unemployment insurance that only America offers.
In addition to that, the term “shared prosperity” is used on the White House website.
Is this the president the media and the White House were trying to Reaganize just a few weeks ago?

6:30pm. Bring umbrella! Oh and don’t forget MRS. jrgdds! ( Dentist much? )
It’s already been transformed. I don’t think it’s possible to ever change it back.
But that is why Chap’s not around. He’s talking to his new client about the the lawsuit to bring against the porn shop.
Psst. He’s talking about a teleprompter. You know, because showing that they are used to give prepared speeches excuses the fact that Obama uses them ad nauseum, like when speaking “off the cuff” to children, or at the beach to discuss an oil spill, or to answer questions (!), and when he fails to use one, he actually says things that reveal his true anti-American, progressive nature.
Do you know if there a schedule of future events? Being several hours away I’ll need to plan for it. It would be great to coordinate, and with jrgdds too. =)
It’s awesome you’re doing this tomorrow. I’ll be thinking of you and yours.
I don’t expect the Democrats to do anything that isn’t evil. But I really don’t find much hope in my fellow Republicans. Paul Ryan was one of the biggest TARP cheerleaders on the floor, and now he’s suddenly putting himself in the white knight saddle?
We. are. so. screwed.

Tell me about it. My wife and I were raising a family in ( of all… places ) Molalla, OR at the time! And it’s the reason so many of us can tell Obama, Crash? Bring.It.On baby! We’ve seen it all before.
Do you know what it’s like to have your 8 y.o daughter ask if she can buy a kitty off the nice people living in their station wagon so her friend from school will have money to eat Mr. Obama? Oregonians do. Bring.It.On
texhisp:
Mi amigo, you got something VERY wrong. Sooner or later, you run out of other people’s money to tax. Whithout collateral, you can no longer borrow, and then you can’t spend.
There, I finished the idea.

I also would be uneasy but if s/he talked/walked conservative values and had a very healthy respect for veterans, I could live with it.
I especially do not trust those veterans who claim to be Democrats.
Here’s one Clackamas AFP is sponsoring!
Thanks! We’ll be there.
Yep. The whole family is involved. My wife runs our office; our two daughters and myself save the teeth.
My goodness. You need to lighten up.
Watch it there Marshall_Will…I live in Colton, just up the road a piece! We will see you at the Sunnyside Road AFP TEA Party and then down at Pioneer Courthouse Square in PDX. I’ll have my Navy Jack flag with a sign that explains “Democrat Math” attached to the top. Hope to see you there!
No, kentroyals5
Umm, to what?
Ramblingman took my joke about teleprompters (including that I’m poking a little fun at the current CIC) and gets all defensive.

From telling the truth? I think not.
Somehow, I think the term democrat has lost something over the last few hundred years.

Remember Murtha? The so-called Veteran? He was bought, sold, traded, and rolled by the Demonuts. Nothing left of his esprit-de-corp (or corpse for you Nobamanites). No true patriot there. or John F’n Kerry for that matter.

( You guys have ‘electricity’ up there? ) Who knew! Yeah then you def. get where I’m coming from. Watching OR turn from a staunch conserv. state to.., God knows what?
I may be at some or -all- of the events and should know more tomorrow. I’m looking forward to hearing John Kuzmanich speak. What a great guy. Too bad he had to lose out to David Wu only to watch “Tigger” go into a drug-induced tailspin huh?
Geez. A joke about a teleprompter and Rubio and people get all jumpy and defensive. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment, for goodness sake.
I noted this a long time ago when he gave some idiotic speech at the U.N.; so it’s not just “sharing” with Americans, we have to share with the whole world (which makes sense, what with him being a “citizen of the world” and all that). That’s what ‘redistributive change’ is all about. Forced volunteerism is another phrase that describes it.
They misspelled “poverty”.
It’s what progressives really want.
Apparently the budget deal passed the House pretty easily. I guess when you really think about it, we should thank SanFranNan for shirking her responsibility last year by not even proposing a budget, thus giving the new GOP majority an opportunity to spend less than otherwise would have.
Not at all. I was smiling the entire time I was typing that.
Not sure where you got that I was getting “all defensive”. But whatever. It’s all good.
Fair enough. It just seemed like your response was unnecessarily snarky for such a light-hearted comment.
My comment was as much a ‘jab’ at Rubio as it was to highlight Obama’s use of a teleprompter.
I could not agree more.
“Good night, Frau Blucher.”
Neeiiiggghhhhhh!!
My apologies if it came out heavy handed. I read your comment as light-hearted and was jabbing in return. Guess I got a little heavy with the salt shaker.
Blech, salt! I’m reporting you to Michelle Obama.
Appreciate the clarity.
Just…just….don’t say anything to Bloomberg, ok?
FIFY
Only if it is green.
And we know what kind of tires Obama uses on the bus he keeps throwing people under.
Marxist radials. Where the rubber meets the road.
Now if he could just keep his Leninmobile from stalin.
Doug, what are the specs of the computer you keep triple tweeting on? Maybe we can get it debugged for you.
I use a Windows 7 sidebar gadget called “tweetz” Not perfect, but very convenient for quick tweets.
I have Tweetdeck, because I see Ms Malkin uses it, but I don’t use it.
Tweetwhat? R U making that up to confuse we computer iliterates?
Tweet tweet birdie?
Suffering succotash.
Again, it’s that opposite-worldview thing.
“These people”,…”they”,…just plain don’t believe that those “rights” were given to man by God.
And they think that we are fools for believing so.
And they plan to “fundamentally transform” us as well.
Pure and simple.
Bill Ayers figures some of us won’t be re-educatable and thus will just have to be eliminated. I think he figured somewhere around 25 million of us.
Notice he said “fundamentally transforming” not restoring or remodeling. If you’re planning to remodel your house, you’re going to make some changes to a few rooms. But if you’re planning to fundamentally transform your house, you’re planning a major rebuild. That requires tearing down most of the old house before rebuilding it — not to restore it to its former glory but to transform it to an all new set of blueprints.
Obama is still in the demolition stage. He is systematically destroying our free market system, our currency, and the value and free use of our property. But the rebuild stage is where the “fun” begins. That is where the government takes control of everything, including all means of communication. That is when the real meaning of “hope and change” becomes apparent. That is when the only freedom remaining will be the freedom to support the government and praise Dear Leader in the “hope” that he will redistribute some “change”, or a few bread crumbs, in your direction.
Thugocracy
I’m going to miss this country.
The worst part is there is no way for the ordinary person to “petition the government for redress of grievances”
THAT is the real unconstitutionality of all that is going on in the Federal Government.
You used to be able to find that quote within Obama’s speech here:

But, now that’s been scrubbed as Obama enters Campaign 2012 mode.
Thankfully, it’s still available here (until it, too, gets scrubbed):

The thugs term it as you have “no standing” to challenge them in court.
How/why is that possible?
Marxists enjoy using the government to hurt people.
Also they don’t believe in God so human rights are a fiction to them.
Since when did the measure of greatness for the United States become based upon how much WELFARE is handed out? There are truly some sick minds running the show. How the hell did this happen? I’m sorry, but the welfare stigma that used to exist should still be in FULL force.
“If it’s free, it’s for me!” BALDERDASH!
