Obama’s Approval Rating Hits All Time Low; Search for Cool Phone Intensifies

By Doug Powers  •  April 15, 2011 04:55 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

Getting a cool phone at which everybody can marvel just moved up a few notches on the list of presidential priorities.

From The Hill:

President Obama’s approval rating has hit it all-time low of 41 percent, according to the Gallup daily tracking poll.

A three-day average of the poll shows that 50 percent disapprove of the job he is doing as president, two points shy of his all-time low.

Obama’s approval was previously at its low point in August and October 2010, leading up to the 2010 midterm elections when the Democratic Party and he took a self-described shellacking.

It isn’t all bad news for Obama. Chevy Chase is still on board — though he doesn’t quite seem to know why.

Ouch. That was like one of his pratfalls down the stairs in the 70′s, except in verbal form and not intentional.

By the way, I notice a lot of political types showing up as speakers at Tea Party rallies

Excellent point. The NY Tea Party rally was all Republican pols making speeches. The Dallas rally, on the other hand, banned politicians. Bachmann and Palin are the two primary culprits usurping the Tea Party. Palin still endorses McCain and Bachmann doesn’t even have enough influence on her very own House Tea Party Caucus to deliver more than 2 “nay” votes on the CR bills.

We need to stay alert. We are well on our way to the land of nose holding again. That is why Trump is getting everyone upset. He is a game changer. The “conservative” punditry has collaborated with the GOP to create a big vacuum and Trump jumped right in.

Do you get the feeling that there is another bipartisan deal we should know about?

How about addressing the other points that Trump would be talking about were everyone else not obsessed with asking him about his position on the birther issue? Trump’s not the one with the obsession.

    What rank hypocrisy.

After watching events closely since 2006, it’s becoming clearer that the electorate has little say in what happens. The two-headed monster that protects their creation, Fedzilla, wants us to “believe” that our votes count while they do everything they can to make sure they don’t.

Just like they want us to “believe” we have a legitimate President. Or “believe” that CO2 is a danger.

    No proof, just “believe”.

Obama’s treatment of Ryan during the “budget” speech on Wednesday was an example of the kind of cheap shot that any genuine adult would be ashamed to commit.

That’s because he is a cheap hustler. That’s all he is.

He’s been getting a lot of media praise for being bold and courageous by telling Ryan off to his face. But Obama’s thrashing of Ryan was in a setting where Ryan did not have the opportunity to answer back – and he invited Ryan to the speech under the pretense that it would be a serious policy speech, which it wasn’t.

He did the same thing to the Supreme Court at the STOTU speech. He doesn’t care how classless that is. But he will care when he loses the WH.

Why do people think they can just scrub things out and expect them to just disappear? I know the left try this all the time, but I am disappointed that O’Reilly is just as disingenuous. Who can we believe any more??? ANYONE??? Oh, I know…Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh. Not many.

Do you really think we could possibly get another candidate as HORRIBLE at Juan McCain again, VP? I mean, come on…Juan even endorsed Obama! (Remember, “I believe Barack Obama would make a fine president”.) Juan McCain has played a huge part in the destruction of this country and that is truly sad. He used to be a hero. Not any more.

O’Really? was bloviating BS anyway, Obama left the states in 1965, returned for a visit in 1971 and did not live in CT in 1977 when Barry started using the CT SS #. The SS Admin. would not have issued a number to a foreign national like Obama sr. in any case.
Barry acquired that number from Grandma Dunham who was working in HI probate at the time. Jean Paul Ludwig died in HI, no relatives, number up for grabs by Barry Soetoro to abscond.

Pasadena Phil said, from another thread…If Trump is still garnering over 30% of the vote after he loses the GOP nomination, he is in the hunt. It is hard to believe that with 30% of the vote, any of the candidates would be garnering more than 37-38%. If the Clintons decide that next year is “payback time” for Obama playing the race card against Hillary in 2008, the polls could very well show him neck-and-neck against two very unpopular alternatives. Obama vs Romney/Pawlenty/Christie vs Trump.

It’s not that Trump is such a great candidate but that the two “major” parties are so detestable. I’d vote for him if those are the choices.

Pasadena Phil…I want to respond to this post you put on another thread. This exactly what happened in Minnesota when Jess Ventura “shocked the world”. The other candidates were Skip Humphrey and RINO Norm Coleman. Both terrible choices. Independent Ventura won. Even I, happyscrapper voted for Ventura. Although he turned out to be a so-so Governor, he didn’t do any harm and I actually agreed with a lot of what he did. If he only hadn’t gotten so snippy and dismissive of the press. Oh, wait…that was a good thing!! And he did put Minnesota on the map!

That was way-pre-internet for me so I watched it from afar, as it were, getting only what crumbs the msm through out. It was highly entertaining for me. When the leg. learned they had a surplus on their hands and began to dream of what they could spend it on, Jesse told them “No, it`s not your money, you collected too much from the citizens, give it back. Start cutting checks !” (I paraphrase of course)

That was a great moment ! I imagined Jesse spitting a big wad on some legislator`s shoe and then looking him in the eye ! One of the, “…and actually did some good” moments !

I can only dream of that happening here in NC. We have been delayed on getting our IT refunds for a few years in a row because of dem leg. shenanigans. We had to sue the state to get disaster relief funds after hurricanes Francis and Ivan clobbered us in `04, because by law, we are required to contribute to the DR fund, but cannot receive benefits from it. As far as the state is concerned, NC`s western boundary is at Hickory, leaving the western 150+ miles out of luck ! At least we rarely see below zero temps !

That is not what I want to happen. But that is a lot better than to have Obama defeat yet another place holder like Romney or Pawlenty or Huckabee or Christie with over 50% of the vote. I didn’t vote for either Democrat in 2008 and I will not be voting for either Democrat next year. Either the GOP give us a real choice or prepare to disband.

BTW, did you notice who is leading the offensive for the GOP attack on Trump? Karl Rove. And Palin is appearing today before another faux Tea Party rally. Total chaos among Republicans.

What you’re not getting, Phil, is that Bachmann shouldn’t have to deliver anybody. These guys ran on their own tickets as Tea Party conservatives, as espousing the beliefs and values which would require them to vote against the CR bills themselves. Instead of bashing Bachmann for not “delivering” her fellows, why are you unwilling to bash those same fellows for having to be delivered rather than travelling to where they said they were going, on their own?

Apparently you missed my comments for when the 19 Tea Party freshmen were interviewed by Frank Lutz on Hannity and all but two were proud of their votes. I was criticized then too.

Bachmann is the one who organized the House Tea Party Caucus thus presuming to be the House Tea Party leader. She deserves the criticism.

I believe that caucus is nothing more than a “super friends” fraternity consisting of the latest class of corruptible Republicans and should be disbanded. Allen West seems to be very disappointed with them and I would like to seem him dropping out of it.

Rubio was criticized for refusing to join anything in DC purporting to be a Tea Party organization and has been vindicated. Bachmann should admit she made a mistake, voice her disappointment in her caucus, lash out at her party leadership (which is her biggest failing), and stop presuming to speak FOR the Tea Party.

She needs to prove that she can do more than talk tough and raise campaign money. The House Republican Study Committee has proven to be the most reliable conservative organ and she might want to affiliate with them instead.
