Hollywood Calls for 5 and 1/2 More Years of Obama

By Doug Powers  •  April 23, 2011 04:28 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

If the the history of the United States were represented by the movie resume of Tom Hanks, the Obama presidency might fall somewhere in between Joe Versus the Volcano and The Terminal, but that doesn’t stop a good portion of Hollywood from thinking the current administration is Forrest Gump quality.

From The Hill:

Speaking in a tiny room of the Italian restaurant Tavern to a an audience of 60 that included Steven Spielberg, Will Ferrell, Tom Hanks and George Clooney, Obama said he understood frustration with his compromises with centrist Democrats and Republicans on healthcare, ending the Bush tax rates for the wealthy and other issues.
[...]
At the Tavern event, at least, Obama seemed to make some headway.

Hanks, for one, could be seen turning to his table mates and saying: “Five-and-a-half more years.”

Five and a half more years until what? China repossesses the Hollywood sign?

Hollywood has a luxury the rest of America doesn’t in that if their political and social wish list is implemented, they can either afford to move away or make the mess into a horror/tragedy movie and still eek out a living. The rest of us are screwed.

Here’s Spielberg, Farrell, Hanks, Murphy etc leaving Obama’s fundraiser in an impressive procession of Chevy Volts:

Obama promised his Hollywood supporters that — in order to keep them from becoming former supporters — as soon as he got back to DC he’d redouble his efforts on all the issues they think he’s let them down on. And sure enough…

President is playing golf at Andrews

Despite sprinkles just before we left the White House, the president is playing golf at Andrews AFB. Motorcade left the White House at 12:32 p.m. and arrived at Andrews at 12:56 p.m. Ben Finkenbinder, David Katz and Marvin Nicholson round out the foursome.

Tom Hanks said he regretted a donation he made to Clinton after he learned of Clinton’s sexual peccadilloes. Apparently he’s learned nothing.

I guess so long as Obama doesn’t rape women or molest subordinates, his socialist agenda is just fine with Tom.

I love the irony that they are supporting the destruction of the very social system that made them able to afford $35,000 for supper.

Many stars got to where they are through hard-work and stick-to-it-tiveness (well, and the casting couch, probably). I don’t know why they don’t think others are capable of doing the same.

Failing that, why don’t they just give all their damn money away and move into an apartment in the ghetto? If they have the courage of their convictions and all.

Incidentally, if Obama ends up raising and spending $1 billion for his re-election campaign, I don’t EVER want to hear about starving children from the left again.

Off topic, I am currently reading Andrew Breitbart’s new book, Righteous Indignation. It has an action plan for conservatives to take back this country. There is a bit of coarse language, but so far it is an excellent book.

If you are ever back here again go to Stone City.

Look at the Grant Wood painting “Stone City” On the right side of the bridge over the river there is a two story gray building. There is a restaraunt there now called the General Store. It’s a cool place. Great food, open mike singers, and in the summer you can throw bread off the deck into the Wapsi River and the carp swirl like sharks.

The American was about this gal who was trying to save her family’s railroad company, and the guy she partners with who wants to build things with his new steel alloy… oh wait, that one’s called “Atlas Shrugged“.

I remember now, I never saw that Clooney movie. I just assumed it was another “1984″ title, like Ministry of Love or Ministry of Truth…

Whats sad is that when you look at the price of gold hitting 1500 now…we are heading down the crapper, whats even sadder is alot of people think the US still has the worlds largest gold reserve its 15 on the list of largest gold reserves. The top 5 are in order China, Japan, Russia, India, and Taiwan. We are in sad shape right now.

And its not a difference of just a little, those nations above us have WAY more. The US is living like many unwise American Middle class families, on credit…sooner or later the cards will be cut, and its clear to me Obama is happy to keep pushing it.

Its even more clear NOT ONE politition from Obama to Palin, have what it takes to save these nation so much as there own rear ends and to keep the masses happy…more so whats sad is too many voters don’t see the dangers till the fire is at there feet.

Happy Easter! y’all.. hope you got to share with your loved ones!

(didn’t want to goof up the real thread with this)

Ya might share this with your loved ones, too.

to all of the Col. Allen West supporters and ANYone who yearns for the America that we used to be, please give this a listen: (a 17 and half minute speech and Q&A to the Center for Security Policy)

here’s but a brief transcription for your enticement: (at 8:25 min.-10:52)

“We must understand that in this new, 21st century battlefield, the strategic objectives are so important, the #1 thing is, we MUST DENY the enemies sanctuaries; how interesting it was that we heard just this last week ..we heard Pakistan say: we’re not going to allow you to fly drone attacks anymore..

See, we must come to the understanding that the enemy we’re up against; this non-state, non-uniform, belligerant that does not respect borders or boundaries, we have to take the fight to him. And the most important thing that we must recognize is that you cannot continue down the path of “a nation-building, occupation-style of warfare”…because that drains your economic resources, even more so, that makes the men and women that we send to defend this nation TARGETS on some of these large, static bases which only has one or two roads by which you can enter and exit those bases.

We must get back to a point of understanding that the greatest asset that we have as a nation when it comes to our military is our strategic mobility,..coming back to our maritime forces.. we must understand that this enemy is going to seek to establish himself in what he believes are going to be very difficult places, but if you look at what is happening right now, since the first of January, and I have to tell you, that the world that we knew on the first of January… is already totally different … we don’t know where it’s gonna go by the end of this year….. there’s a clock that’s ticking, we got about 18 or 19 months, because there’s a window of opportunity that our adversaries see; because we’re economically weak, we have an incredible….. deficiency… in leadership in this country, and we have a deficiency when it comes to strategic vision …

Everyone of those countries, when you look across North Africa and what’s happening in the middle-east, they share one. common. thing. and that’s the latorals(sp?- couldn’t find it) ..and if we’re going to be successful, as we move forward, understanding our economic strength and how it’s tied to our national security, we must build up a force.. that is able to use that stategic mobility to quickly get to these difficult places …and launch our forces to deny that enemy sanctuary. We must be able to cut off his flow of men, materiel, and economic support… we must win the information operations war. And we NEED TO BE ABLE TO CORDON HIM OFF to reduce his sphere of influence all across the world… and that includes right here in the United States of America….”

At $4.00 plus and rising per a gallon of gas are any of these Celebutards aware that spending $10 plus per person to go to a movie cinema is one of the first expenses to be cut by most families/individuals? Maybe they’ll soon need that $35,000 they just gave to The Imposter.

Not sure what you mean by imposter, but quite correct on the money.

Most of the major issues from immigration to offshore drilling to health care are 60-30 against Obama’s position. The direction of country is nearly 70-22 against.

So I think the American people know where they stand on the issues, but 47% of Americans do not pay taxes.

That is the bracket Obama will focus on.

I won’t except excuses this time. If the American people don’t get it right in 2011 and 2012, they’ll get what they deserve and not an ounce of sympathy from me for their stupidity.

Obama is under 50% in the low income brackets.

Everything you need to know about liberalism can be derived from the fact of its almost universal popularity among people who live in a fantasy world insulated from the reality that the rest of us face, and whose entire careers revolve around the creation of fantasy.
Conservatism, on the other hand, attracts people as they grow up and become acquainted with the reality of raising a family and earning a living in the real (non-celebrity) world.

Confine someone to an ivory tower long enough and they almost always sway to the left. Liberalism is in direct opposition to the facts of life.

But liberalism isn’t just confined among ivory tower elites. It’s also popular among another group of ivory tower residents – the recipients of government welfare and union benefits, who are also shielded from the facts of reality. The whole movement is a cult of fantasy.

Hey folks…I think I have a solution. Let’s each of us find ourselves a democrap socialist “0bama buddy” who doesn’t pay any federal taxes. Then, (this is the hard part, but it will save us each 10X the amount in the long run) we each pony up $500 for a one way plane ticket for our “buddy” to the nearest socialist country hell hole (I mean utopia). They get what they want, we get what we want. What do you think?

The rich and elite become content, soft and forgetful.

And it will never change for the most part. Only the very wise and spirtually humble can see it, much less avoid it, so yeah, we’re in some serious trouble.
