The administration that acted in contempt by ignoring a judge’s order to lift the Gulf drilling moratorium will be looking for illegalities in rising oil and gas prices. Whew! Help is finally on the way!
CBS News’ Mark Knoller:
A nickel says somebody from the SEIU and/or AFL-CIO ends up on this commission. I’d bet more but that’s all I have left after filling my tank this morning.
Anybody found illegally trying to hold down the price of gas will be punished to the fullest extent of the law — at least that’s my speculation (oops, poor choice of words).
Do you think there’s a chance the “task force” will conclude that ballooning prices are caused by failed energy policies and could have little to nothing to do with private sector fraud and profiteering? Don’t bother to answer that.
