Where is Adnan Shukrijumah? We’re looking at you, Pakistan.

Since 9/11, homeland/national security officials have been on the hunt for Adnan Shukrijumah. He was most recently tied to the NYC 2010 bombing plot involving convicted Colorado jihadi Najibullah Zazi and I’ve been keeping track of his various alleged sightings for nearly 10 years now.

Refresher:

Adnan Shukrijumah. Does the name ring a bell? It should if you have been a regular reader of this blog since its inception in 2004.

In August 2004, I reported on the FBI search for the high-profile fugitive and al Qaeda operative billed as the “next Mohammed Atta.” There’s been a $5 million bounty on his head for six years. He has been reportedly spotted at or near the Mexican border and allegedly has met with Latin American gangs. In 2007, his name came up in wiretaps related to the busted NYC/JFK bombing plot.

Well, he’s still on the loose. And he’s still apparently hard at work on global jihad.

So, guess who may be harboring this fugitive and now-rising al Qaeda leader?

Surprise, surprise.

Rhymes with Smackistan:

He was not a member of the South Florida “sleeper” cell that plotted the 9-11 terrorist attacks, but former Broward County Community College student Adnan El Shukrijumah has risen to the top ranks of al-Qaida’s global operations, according to the Justice Department.

The Saudi-born El Shukrijumah, who studied computer science and chemistry at BCC, left his family’s home in Miramar for Trinidad the week before the Sept. 11, 2001, assaults. His whereabouts were a mystery for years.

But last July, the 35-year-old was charged along with four others in an alleged al-Qaida plot to attack New York’s subway system and targets in England.

El Shukrijumah, a one-time legal U.S. resident and citizen of Guyana, is now a fugitive believed to be in Pakistan, according to the FBI.

Staying at another Extended Stay Qaeda Residence Inn, perhaps?

Of course they are not our good friends. At the moment each nation finds the other useful. That’s all.

Most goes to Israel and Egypt, but Pakistan comes in a comfortable 5th, at least until the data became unavailable (prior to Iraq and Afghanistan military operations). They need lots of $ to defend against that very hostile nation India, you know, where Bombay is, the place where all those misunderstanders of islam were provoked into murdering unarmed innocent people.

When you look at the list of countries that receive US aid, you begin to wonder if it is aid or tribute:

I might take some heat for saying this, but as far as I’m concerned, if it wasn’t for Israel, I would like to see the entire ME blown to smithereens. I know there are some “innocent” civilians over there (children), but they brainwash all of them to hate civilization, especially Americans and the Jews. That is not going to change. They would rather kill us than look at us.

They harbor terrorists because it is their biggest industry. If there were no terrorists, the USA would not give them money. . . so Pakistan has an economic incentive from us to keep terrorism alive and well in their country.

When we question Pakistan, they know where the terrorists are so they go kill some (maybe some they have a local disagreement with anyway) and say look how many terrorists we killed.

The end to this problem would be to treat Pakistan and Afghanistan the way we treat Cuba diplomatically. If you go there, and get a stamp in your passport from there, you can go anywhere else in the world, but you can’t come to America.

No economic or diplomatic ties at all until they show a willingness to join with the rest of the world trying to figure out how to live in peace.

That gives them incentive to end terrorism instead of continue it. But hey, we’ve got John McCain calling Libyans his biggest hero so certainly Americans have people looking out for our best interests among the powers that be. . ./s

There is nothing to win in Afghanistan and we get all we need in the region in a partnership with India. With India we don’t need relationships with Pakistan. I’ve only been saying this since about 2001.

Follow the money trail on that. Sometimes I get the feeling they are allowed in because they do have the potential to mean harm…..when the need for that comes. Sleeper cells.

When you say “terrorism related cases” what that really means they were found and investigated in terrorism sweeps after 9/11, but were NOT found to have any relation to terrorism. They were arrested on unrelated, minor charges. None of the convicted men served jail time and all had to undergo background checks and stay clean for 5 years before they were naturalized. It is more like getting a ticket for your tail light being out at a DWI sobriety checkpoint. You are not who they are looking for, but they are going to write you up anyway.
