Stonewalling (as usual) on government spending

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 4, 2011 11:55 AM

Where did $1.3 trillion in federal spending on contracts and grants go?

The most transparent administration ever won’t say, and as this House Energy and Commerce hearing revealed yesterday, the White House has stonewalled on a FOIA request to find out for more than six months:

Cue sound of flushing toilet here…

Intergroup Dialogue (ID) is a tool practitioners can use to engage alienated groups in safe conversation about their identities with the goal of improving understanding, dismantling perceptions of the “other,” and creating alliances which can help pave the way to greater intergroup cooperation and peaceful coexistence. In this course, participants will learn the principles and practice of ID through participation in and guided reflection on a multiple-session, identity-based dialogue facilitated by the instructors.

    WTH?

What exactly is a “conflict entrepreneur”? What do we mean by a “resource curse”? And perhaps most importantly, what is the difference between peacekeeping, peacemaking, and peacebuilding? To help practitioners, scholars, and students answer these questions, USIP has developed Peace Terms: A Glossary of Terms for Conflict Management and Peacebuilding.

The Iran Primer offers a comprehensive but concise overview of Iran’s politics, economy, military, foreign policy, and nuclear program. It chronicles U.S.-Iran relations under six American presidents and probes five options for dealing with Iran.

It already has. As I posted either above or on another thread (with links), it is being distributed to anyone in government who wants to see them. Once again, they are playing games instead of being forthright. I couldn’t care less that Scott Brown and Kelly Ayotte “believe” that the person in the photos is OBL anymore than I care that they “believe” that OBL is constitutionally qualified to be president. This is just not the way to handle it. Truth is only available to the ruling class?

I don’t have strong feelings about whether they should be released but I have strong objections to the way this (and everything else for that matter) gets handled these days. These guys would have fumbled the announcement of the Japanese surrender in WWII.

This is exactly the kind of obtuse thinking that really makes me crazy.

A top Republican who has seen the death photo of Osama bin Laden says releasing the picture publicly could endanger U.S. forces in Afghanistan or elsewhere.

Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, says the picture could inflame anti-U.S. sentiments around the world and hamper intelligence cooperation with the United States. He says conspiracy theorists won’t be persuaded no matter what the U.S. does.

First of all, this is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee! Hello! OUR TROOPS ARE IN DANGER ALREADY!!! There is a WAR going on!!!

Second, conspiracty theorists? What a red herring! There are key terrorist leaders who know Obama very well and would recognize him in these pix and who would then know for sure that he is dead. Everyone else can take a hike.

It really frustrates me that we have troops fighting wars to supposedly protect our freedoms and national interests but we are afraid of antagonizing the enemy because it would jeopardize the safety of the troops. Are they American soldiers or UN “peace keepers”? Either fight or come home.

According to Sun Tzu, antagonizing the enemy is a fundamental tactic in fighting a war. Unless we are outmanned, outgunned and in a bad strategic situation, in which case we should be retreating.

Somewhere along the line, no-lose T-ball has become the military standard for fighting wars. Proportional response leading to stalemate and long, drawn-out and expensive engagements.

It’s not just Obama that has to go, it’s EVERYBODY!
