Rosie O’Donnell: Hard to Believe All These Tornadoes Aren’t Caused By Global Warming

By Doug Powers  •  May 27, 2011 04:25 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

Before considering her argument, it’s worth noting that this analysis is from the same Science Laureate who doesn’t believe fire can melt steel.

Transcript from Radio Equalizer:

ROSIE O’DONNELL (Tuesday 24 May 2011 46:45): It’s hard to find a reason that is not environmentally centered, that [doesn't have] something to do with global warming or what the planet is going through. The amount of tornadoes…it’s like three times the highest amount ever before, right? Something weird is happening with all of these natural catastrophes.

JANETTE BARBER (executive producer): It’s global warming. People can say whatever they like. It’s global warming.

At least Rosie’s having trouble finding a reason the cause of tornadoes isn’t environmentally-centered, so maybe there’s hope for her yet.

And at least some of the mind-boggling tornado numbers, believe it or not, can be chalked up to humans — there are more of us around to see them.

Is this really the end of the world? Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods?

No, we simply live on an active planet. Earthquakes are continuous, a million and a half of them every year, or three every minute. A Richter 5 quake every six hours, a major quake every 3 weeks. A quake as destructive as the one in Pakistan every 8 months. It’s nothing new, it’s right on schedule.

At any moment there are 1,500 electrical storms on the planet. A tornado touches down every six hours. We have ninety hurricanes a year, or one every four days. Again, right on schedule. Violent, disruptive, chaotic activity is a constant feature of our globe.

Is this the end of the world? No: this is the world.

    It’s time we knew it.

Didn’t we have the Ice Age some 20,000 years ago? Before the Ice Age, it would of been warmer, then said Ice Age developed, and then logically, because we are no longer in the Ice Age, it obviously got a hell of alot warmer. So, were all those drastic changes in temperature because of global warming as well?

And Rosie, since you are eating for 2 people, are you and the demands your fat-as* puts on the planet part of the reason why we might have this global warming, if it does exist at all?

Put down the fork. Go outside and exercise. And if you are really concerned about it getting too warm, move to the northern portions of Canada. Up there, it is still as frickin’ cold as a whore’s heart, and the temperature often reaches near -35 Ceslius.

You won’t be nearly as affected by global warming as you might think you are while living in California. Of course, there aren’t many lezzies up there, but you can’t have everything in life, can you?

Yes. Then around 100BC to 400AD it got warmer, trade increased and Rome took over, well, the world. Around 400AD to 800AD it got damn cold again and little was done. The Huns moved from the cold in Asia/Europe and displaced the Goths, etc. who invaded Rome. Then from about 800AD to 1300AD we had a warming trend that was about 5 degrees warmer than it is today. The Vikings went everywhere; from North America to the Urals, south to Saudi Arabia. The term Russian comes from the word Rus meaning north or people of the north. That was their influence; practically global. Around 1300AD to about 1700AD it got cold again. Paintings show heavy ice and snow because it was so novel. Then around 1700AD it warmed again. There was a “little ice age” around 1775-1780 or such. But that ended and this is were we are today. So it should start getting cold around 2100AD.

Right now, is just a time between ice ages.

Tornadoes are actually the product of warm tropical air, laden with moisture, meeting unseasonably cold upper- atmosphere. So tornadoes are not associated with global warming, which decreases number and intensity. In fact the mild warming we have had for the last 15 years lessened tornadoes enormously and contributed to record harvests all through North America.
Here is a enumeration of tornadoes by year:
    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/05/27/tornadoes-and-global-warming-still-no-linkage/
It is very likely that 2011 will be close to a record for f4,f5 tornadoes.
This because it is abnormally cold. Likely a portend of many years of a cooling cycle.

AND, there is a larger population now, resulting in more towns, thus better chance that a tornado will hit buildings rather than huge fields. The tornadoes themselves are incredibly powerful and not to minimize that fact. But the jet stream, el nineo, etc. all play a part in the strength of the storm.

Why is that a good thing? How about proving that you can get the REPUBLICAN and CONSERVATIVE vote! If we cared about the Dem and leftist vote, we would be Democrats! That rules out Romney, Pawlenty, Giuliani, Christie, Johnson and Huntsman.

What do you expect from Rosie?

Her old man was from County Donegal.
It’s not like the family came from County Meath or Cork.

Did they have cars 11-12 thousand yrs. ago?
Or maybe it was all those big animals ‘cuttin’ da chez?’

Actally the increased tornadic activity is caused by upper level cold temps. Thus they have nothing to do with the warming model that the idiots have proposed. They also are associated with the periodic la nina similar to the activity in the 30′s. But you have to have intellence to know that and the hollywood people definitely are lacking there. In 10 years, the temp will change to that which we experienced in the 60′s.

The amount of tornadoes…it’s like three times the highest amount ever before, right?

A local meteorologist recently commented that there are a lot of crazy theories out there as to the increase in tornadoes. He said he and others attribute it to people being more educated in spotting them and in the improved technology used to identify and track them.

    1. Everything wrong with the economy is the fault of conservatives.
    2. All weird weather patterns and natural disasters are due to global warming … and the fault of conservatives.
    3. Every belligerent action taken by America’s enemies is the fault of conservatives.
    4. Any loss taken in battle is the fault of conservatives.
    5. Any bad hair day experienced by Michelle Obama is the fault of conservatives.
