DNC Chair: Republicans Want to Make it a Crime to Be An ‘Undocumented Immigrant’
**Written by Doug Powers
As far as sheer entertainment value, I was a fan of Howard Dean as Chairman of the DNC, but I think Debbie Wasserman Schultz may soon surpass him, if she hasn’t already.
For the purpose of being factually correct, substitute “illegal aliens” where Wasserman Schultz says “undocumented immigrants” (transcribed from the video below):
I think the president was clearly articulating that his position — the Democrats position — is that we need comprehensive immigration reform. We have 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country that are part of the backbone of our economy. And that is not only a reality but a necessity. And that it would be harmful if — the Republican solution that I’ve seen in the last three years is that we should just pack them all up and ship them back to their own countries, and that in fact it should be a crime and we should arrest them all. I mean that was the legislation that Jim Sensenbrenner advanced a couple of years ago.
She does know that it is a crime to be an illegal alien, right? Normally something that has the word “illegal” right there in its name is a big clue that it might not be legal. What’s next? Will mean old Republicans want to make car theft (undocumented vehicle procurement) or shoplifting (uncompensated one-way commerce) crimes too?
Here’s the video:
See and hear some of Debbie’s greatest hits here.
There seems to be an inordinately high number of people with the name Schultz saying dumb things these days.

This woman is a stupid-ass, left wing dolt. Find the guts to speak up voters, before you lose it all.
zzzzyyyyyzzzzz…Is that you??
Using a stolen or fake social security number is not an infraction. It’s a felony. Illegal aliens belong in federal prison.
Although this story doesn’t exactly fit with what you express, it shows that if you are in a certain ‘class’ (this country is SUPPOSED to be a classless society, BTW) you can, in fact, get away with murder.
An update to this story reveals that this Colorado state Senator was cited for three misdemeanors by the State cops in Texas.
PS To above comment…. no one bothered to investigate why she was driving on the wrong side of the road that killed this pregnant woman!!..
Love ya!!

Duuuuuuudddee, put down the bong, so I can educate you.
The first time a person enters the country ILLEGALLY, it’s a CRIMINAL MISDEMEANOR. If the person is then deported and reenters the country ILLEGALLY, then it’s a CRIMINAL FELONY. The first time the person gets a fine and deportation, the second time he/she is elegible for jail time and then deportation. Got it?
Here’s a little more irony for ya and I will get back on topic….
Since the words “Grand Jury,” have been coming up frequently in media coverage of the accident, Morse’s decision is understandable. Additionally, as we discussed last week, adding controversy to the incident is the fact that — although Williams was a leading proponent of seat belt legislation — none of the three passengers in her vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. Williams’ appointment as Chairwoman of the Transportation Committee would have undoubtedly been met with intense scrutiny, at the very least.
Just trying to expose the “two Americas’ we live in.
O.K. folks…here is the unvarnished truth about Obama’s decision to visit Joplin, Missouri in person, vs the other states devastated by these natural disasters…

By the way, I consider this to be an open thread, until we get one. There haven’t been any others posted and it is a holiday tomorrow. For those of us compelled to blather on without ceasing, we need something to post on…right?? If not, we will commandeer another ship! Pirates ahoy!
I’ve read quite a bit about Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I’m going with Andrea Lafferty’s assessment of her skills:
I’m glad this post cannot be used to make me a member of the “He-Man Woman Haters Club.”
Also, Bibi made a comment about those who had lives and property lost with the tornado when he was here for his visit last week. Right after that, bho said he planned to visit MO so those there could gaze on his face about his concern!
You are 100% correct with your list of states, you are a d you get to see bho, you are a r, sol!
L
Don’t know about that, Happy, but I bet he’ll be passing out those nifty ‘Made in the USA’ t-shirts and mugs!
After only a couple of months on the job, I’m ready to award Ms. Wasserman-Schultz a lifetime achievement award in the Knucklehead hall of fame. I’m sure that she will continue to add to an already impressive array of bloopers and blunders. With hard work she may well raise the bar to a level of incompetence not seen since…well since the man she replaced. As to Nobama going to Joplin to give another worthless speech, my question is – haven’t the people of Joplin suffered enough already?
I’ve driven that stretch of road. It’s as flat as a pancake, wide open with little traffic, and you can see for miles. She told you what was going on. She was watching her mirror while her kids were fussing around in the back seat, instead of watching where she was going.

The working conditions you mention are the reasons for child labor laws and the birth of unions (which have long since passed their ‘sell by’ date).
A good reason to repeal minimum wage laws. Also reason to bust NEA and teacher’s unions…. the public isn’t getting what it’s paying for. I don’t know about your state (I think it works the same in all states) by my state pays for public schooling through property taxes and I don’t have kids. Never have, never will…
Why should I have to pay for liberal indoctrination of other people’s kids?
New DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Shultz Makes Inauspicious Debut
COMMENTARY:
Curiously, Wasserman Shultz is most excited about the idea that voters will be reminded in the upcoming election that Obama signed women pay equity legislation, named two women to the Supreme Court and established the White House Council on Women and Girls. The outreach to women during the campaign “will be unprecedented,” Wasserman Shultz said.
The saddest part is that Wasserman Shultz doesn’t seem to believe that women are very smart. As long as they remind women that Obama has engaged in efforts designed to appease women’s advocacy groups, the chair doesn’t think that such gender-neutral worries as losing a house to foreclosure and being unable to afford a tank of gas are of any concern to a woman.
To hear Wasserman Shultz speak, one would think such things as government deficits, disturbing foreign policy maneuvers and staggering unemployment numbers are things only men would think are important matters for consideration during an election cycle. As a woman, I would like to ask Wasserman Shultz, what good is pay equity legislation for women if they can’t find a job? No; what “will be unprecedented” will be watching Wasserman Shultz promoting her myopic, shallow and utterly insulting perception of her own gender.
In the meantime, the degree of irritation inspired by this brittle little stick currently residing in Debbie’s Girl Power craw was revealed in her incoherent ramble regarding the “No Tax Payer Funding for Abortion Act” (H.R. 3).

I too have driven those roads in Texas. You can see for ninety miles ahead of you and behind. (slight exaggeration)
I didn’t hear or read about her excuse of kids in the back seat raising hell. There are two remedies in my mind for that problem.
!. Pull off the road, yank ‘em out of the car, blister their butts with a mesquite tree switch, them put them back in the car.
2. Velcro them to the back seat and BUCKLE THE DAMN SEAT BELT!
1 and 2 can be used in conjunction with each other.
My mother used peach tree switches and it didn’t hurt my mental stability one EYE-O-TA!
PS… I’m also a Tex-vet (Ret)…
Interesting how someone doesn’t realize that something is illegal it is against the law?
Leftists will lay the smack down on someone for a parking ticket (that’s because it has a fine and more money for the government) but won’t lay a finger on the illegal aliens (who provide votes for the democrat party)
You mean the ones that say WTF? and were passed out at the Tuscon “memorial”
campaign rally“service”?I just heard a snipit of Obama in Joplin a few minutes ago. He is really fired up telling everyone “We will stand with you! We are not going anywhere! We will help you:”! Until the next election, when they vote republican. They’d better get all of his help fast…it is going away.
No, no Happy, since he produced the fake birth certificate they now have Made (NOT BORN) in the USA, shirts and mugs. Clever, huh?
FIFY
So, according to that logic, since ‘immigrants are good [economically]‘ we can extend or apply that reasoning..
We take in more immigrants (legal and illegal) than any other country in the world (noting that 2 nations have populations that are, respectively, 3.5x and nearly 5x ours..), and, yet, our economy is lagging (arguably) behind the recently growing ones. If immigrants are so good for us, and we take in SO very many, why isn’t our economy the ‘roaring tiger’ of the
world? Further, a recent article published by CIS showed that about 55% of all immigrant families receive some sort of welfare/basic assistance (via the taxpayer).
Similarly, recently Mayor Bloomberg of NYC said something to the effect (not exact, and from memory..), ‘give us immigrants and we can send them to Detriot to revitalize the economy’. And what did Mayor Dave Bing have to say? His response was, again paraphrased from memory: ‘No. Our problem is not shortage of people nor labor — it is a shortage of jobs’.
We can’t take care of the world and we need to start focusing upon dealing with our own first.
Further, back to the question or detail regarding ‘legality’, what you are saying would only be true in the extremely rare subgroup of illegal aliens that happened to sneak across the border once, not accept employment of any type, and be able to support themselves from day one (eg. be independently wealthy). Now how many people do those conditions describe?
Sure, there probably are a few, but overall? Not.Very.Many. The second an illegal alien works in the US, they break two significant laws and often times more (never mind the loss to the US Treasury in unrecovered income taxes, the cost imposed upon local LE and individuals in terms of stolen ID/ID theft, etc).
The old unquestioned axiom that ‘immigration is good’ for the US no longer applies. It may have been true in the flowering of the industrial development of the US in the turn of the last century, but now is a different time with different needs and WE HAVE NO SHORTAGE OF PEOPLE OR LABOR.
-Independent in detail and spirit.
Wasserman-Schultz only cares about profiting from her political poison. She is no different than a drug dealer who sells narcotics to addicts.
She, Pelosi, Reid and all the rest of them are simply the distributors of misery who take a cut for said distribution so that they can sustain a certain lifestyle, consequences be damned.
If people on the right don’t change their voting patters and start electing small-government, rule-of-law believing representatives, America will implode upon itself and be lost forever.
Sadly, something tells me Romney will be the next president of the United States. With that outcome, the status quo will continue and it will be a matter of time before the United States of America becomes the United Socialist States of Mexico.
Why are we surprised Little Debbie said what she said? She is simply using Newspeak. Relax, it’s only going to get worse as 2012 nears.
Ah, but we don’t know how many Barry W A N T E D to go to, and the Republican Governors of the states listed above said, “No Thanks, Barry.”
I know that Oklahoma would rather Barney Fwank retire there permanently than Barry spend 5 minutes there.
Uh, not Republic of Texas, though. Right?
The DNC chair needs to read Title 8, 18 and 19 of the United States Code, for that matter so does JaNo.
I get that in the 80′s, illegal aliens probably were a boon to the economy. Times have changed, the high number of illegals is costing the taxpayer to the point that the deck you got built for half the price now comes with lots of extra taxes you pay for the worker’s kid’s welfare, the family’s medical expenses, section 8 housing, education, prison costs for the 7 times your worker got busted for a DUI, etc. Cheap labor is no longer cheap and the social security funds the govt. was celebrating from a worker with a taxpayer ID or fake SSN is bunk now, SS is still going bankrupt.
The border is no joke anymore. The world is very dangerous today. Terrorist groups are building tunnels for the Mexican drug cartels and paying them upwards of 30,000 dollars to bring in goods and people. Look up the Tijuana tunnels, American task forces are finding them with irrigation systems, electricity hook ups, rail systems, ventilation. All the amenities you would find in tunnels going to the Gaza strip. One Pakistani nuke, through the tunnel then on to a train for detonation at Al Queda’s choice? Retaliation for Bin Laden? But hey, I got my house painted for 500 bucks, what a blessing.
I always thought it was a crime to be in the country illegally. Silly me.
Civil war first, 123…Civil freakin war! We will not go quietly. This country is worth dying for.
Civil war won’t happen. Mexicans are taking over the USA by breeding faster than everyone else. Nothing can stop the power of compounding. The USA will eventually be trashy and crime infested like Mexico. Nothing will stop this.
DWS is a dithering idiot. I don’t know how these people get elected.
I also think the government has that in mind already and are ready to counter with mercenaries. Remember the foreign paramilitary force training up in Montana or somewhere? That was a while ago, so can’t remember it so well and I have to run or I would look it up. I didn’t understand it at first, but looks like getting ready for American uprising fight.
Perhaps our author could have said it better, but it’s not a crime to BE an illegal alien, it’s a crime to enter the country illegally.
And Shultz used the totally debunked figure of 12 million illegals residing in the USA. The Dems trot that old lie out everytime they speak on this subject, shameful.
happy2behere said:

In the immortal words of Massachusetts Atty Gen..Martha Coakley-
It is NOT Illegal to be Illegal….in Massachusetts….or apparently anywhere else that democrats need votes!
Nice. But I refuse to believe that. There are millions of right-thinking people in this country who will fight like hell against the demise of the greatest country that ever existed. Once this country goes, so goes the world. We are the last hope for humanity. I believe that most Mexicans agree with this and would fight by our side.
The only men who could stand this fugly lberal is a weak, effeminate wussy.
Can you name any Mexican politicians that are against illegal immigration? The mayor of Los Angeles used to be a MECHA leader.
Some Mexicans are against illegal immigration, but MOST Mexicans support illegal immigration. Mexicans will be the majority of the USA. You are in denial if you disagree with me.
I don’t give a crap about politicians…Mexican or otherwise. It is the PEOPLE I’m talking about. And I want to know where you get your statistics that MOST Mexicans support illegal immigration. Link please. I don’t believe that LEGAL immigrants and U.S. born Mexicans support illegals from ANY country just piling in here uninvited and against our laws. There are some, but I doubt that they are in the majority.
Common sense dictates that most Mexicans have a relative or friend that is an illegal alien, so naturally they support illegal immigration.
Every anchor baby supports illegal immigration because their parents are illegal aliens.
Why do you think Obama is bashing Republicans for wanting a better border fence? He wants the Mexican vote.
And you SHOULD care about politicians. They decide the future of the USA.
And I live in California, so I have good idea of what Mexicans support.
Mexicans have the highest dropout rate of all high school students. They also have a high rate of teenage pregnancy. This means they have chosen a life of poverty. Poor people vote Democrat because they want handouts from other taxpayers.
Links? Out here on the ground in the real world, Scrappy. Direct observation.
I live in a mostly hispanic city. the legal immigrants from Mexico I’ve known here over the last 30 years (there have been many) virtually all have relatives and friends here illegally.
I used to say I favored a high level of immigration, and that it was the illegal immigration that I objected to, but I have come to realize they are two sides of the same coin.
We’ve had too much immigration. It has become badly corrosive. We need to shut it down for a while so we can adapt and adapt to the recent immigrants we already have.
I agree with stopping all immigration for a while, but….
1. It will never happen.
2. Even if Mexican immigration were to cease completely, Mexicans will still become the majority of the USA because they breed faster than any other group
The people who breed the fastest win. Period.
Or one with a hymenated name, for that matter.
Only if they don’t interbreed with the still much, much larger native population.
There is still substantial mixing going on now. One of the many dangers we are creating by continuing the massive immigration is we’ll reach a point where that will no longer be true because the invading culture will realize conquest really is within its grasp.
At that point the lines get drawn. We are bordering on that now, with gang wars in L.A. between hispanic and black gangs in neighborhoods where the anglos have already all been run out.
Sadly, most people are so fat and happy they don’t realize apocalyptic warnings really could be true until the apocalypse is actually upon them.
And by then it is too late.
Roland, the problem is that most Mexican immigrants do not assimilate. They do not want to learn English. They truly believe that the southern USA belongs to Mexico. They teach this nonsense to their kids. Their kids grow up to hate the USA, and to love illegal immigrants. They believe in Aztlan and Reconquista.
They would assimilate if we insisted on it. We do not. Instead, we give them ballots in Spanish.
That is way beyond crazy.
Please, PLEASE keep a camera in front of this woman at all times. You just know this is the tip of the iceberg. Please let us plumb the depths of her stupidity.
From Doug’s quote …
“For the purpose of being factually correct, substitute “illegal aliens” where Wasserman Schultz says “undocumented immigrants”
Could also be stated
“For the purpose of being politically correct for socialist groupthink, substitute “future Democrat voters” where Wasserman Schultz says “undocumented immigrants””
The Democrats will print ballots in any language that assures their continued presence in Washington D.C.
That’s no surprise. It’s sociopathy, not lunacy. The Democrat politicians are all moral relativists, and moral relativism is just an excuse to engage in sociopathic behavior.
It’s the airhead voters who are getting royally screwed but continue to mindlessly vote Democrat who are way beyond crazy. They can see what the Democrats do, and they know they are getting screwed by it, but they continue to vote Democrat anyway. Just plain nuts.
Wow…so if I’m an “undocumented driver,” it’s okay then, because I will no longer be driving illegally, because I’m describing myself with the word “undocumented,” rather than driving illegally without a license?
Of course not, but it just shows how much the Democrat Party will bend over backward for non-citizens who’ve stole over our borders for freebies. They are their future voters and lifeblood of their party.
It isn’t out of stupidity that this Debbie Wasserman Schultz person tries to make a distinction in this case, it is out of political necessity and desperation that she does it. And, she knows that it works to use this sort of semantics in our culture. We can make hay out of it all we want, and poke fun, but the fact of the matter is that they have the sympathetic ear of the MSM, and also that of much of the ignorant public.
I’m pretty sure that she knows precisely what she’s doing here, and such talk won’t harm the Dems in the least. In a nation and culture where words have lost their meaning, bleeding hearts everywhere bemoan the actions of evil Republicans who aim to continue considering it a crime to do “undocumented” things outside the lawful auspices of our country.
She’s a blonde.
too funny
Making a crime a crime. Go figure.
Since the Left wants no borders, lets invite all our English, Czech, Canadian, and Vietnamese friends to come? Why should the Mexicans be the only ones to party hearty? Besides, how many orange and lettuce pickers can the country support anyway? BTW, most illegals in Georgia are working factory jobs.
This woman is so dumb, she embarasses my box of rocks.
Did you notice, like um, that little Debbie just loves to play with her hair?
This is someone whose intellectual and emotional growth ceased somewhere around the ninth grade.
I don’t know what she is but that is not blond. Dirty sand maybe?
Debbie is in a class all by herself. Therefore, a new word is required to accurately describe her talents. I submit the following.
Dumidity: The ability to blather on and on ad infinitum without clearly articulating a single rational thought.
So why was Debbie hanging out on the roof all day and night?
She heard drinks were on the house.
Let me see if I got this right:
One can enter the country illegally and yet not be an illegal alien? Sounds like something like the new math in our govt. schools where 2+2=whatever you want it to be as long your feelings aren’t hurt. If you enter the country illegally, you ARE an illegal alien, pure and simple.
We have a legal process for entering this country. Those who enter via the legal process and abide by our laws are welcome to come.

A diagnostic test for syphilis involving the fixation or inactivation of a complement by an antibody in a blood serum sample.
…and the long-term effect is dementia. BINGO! We have a winner!
Seriously, if “misspeaking” or lying was a crime, Wasserman-Shultz, Pelosi, and company would be spending 20-to-life in the local hoosegow.
Drinks on the house eh? OK I see some people had a good week-end
. Happy Dumb Debbie Day to all.
I think we need to be more forceful in our offerings here.
It is in fact a crime to be in the United States illegally. However, operating a motor vehicle at excessive speeds is also illegal, but is not a crime. There are more than enough other violations of law that are not criminal to justify the need to specify the criminality of these acts.
We must not stop and assume that people will get the part about this being criminal activity on the sole basis that is illegal. We must show the facts more clearly. Things cannot be demonstrated as criminal on the sole basis of illegality; they must be DEMONSTRATED as criminal (in the way I just did, for example).
Yes. These liberals are coddling actual criminals. We must drive home the point that it is a criminal offense (as opposed, say, to the level of a parking ticket).
Lots of illegal stuff is not criminal. We have to drive home the fact that this stuff is.
RWR

I know I’m late to this party, so forgive….
but did she ACTUALLY say that it was “necessary” to our economy to have people here illegally??
Which part of the economy would they be vital to – I mean, other than liberal elitists who depend on them to raise their kids, cook their meals and maintain their lawns??
I see. When election day rolls around, those who pick the person with the best chance remaining to defeat the Democrat are doing “identical behavior” to those who mindlessly vote for the Democrat.
Riiight.
Indeed.
ROTFLMFAO! Who’d've thought that Joe Biden would have a female counterpart? The edgiest comedian couldn’t make this stuff up! I hope the democrats keep her! she is like a gift from heaven for us!
Next maybe she’ll say the Republicans are trying to pass laws that say that only the House can introduce legislation involving appropriations!
I’ve written this before but it bears repeating:
You folks in the rest of the country are now discovering what we in Florida have known all along: Debbie Wasserman Schultz is an idiot.
*kick* Sorry, it was going into a loop…
ChapB, RWR, etc., don’t put words in my mouth please. THE definition the crime is entering the country illegally, not BEING an illegal. It’s a definition that a seasoned political writer would be careful about. I think Doug just missed this one, that’s all.
riiiight. Are you mental?
Whenever someone says “undocumented” just cheerfully correct it to “criminal”.
let me see if I have this straight: You’re saying that it would be a crime to commit murder, but it wouldn’t be a crime to be a serial killer? How is being in this country illegally not illegal???????
I guess I’m just not seasoned enough.
Praise the Lord and pass the oregano.
True Liberal…
Basic premise (by law)…if excludable at entry (no proper documentation)deportable after entry.
To all…
18 USC 1325 – Entry without inspection (EWI = jumping the border)
18 USC 1326 – Re-entry after deportation. Voluntary returns are not deemed “deportation”.
Here is one poll that shows only 40% of Hispanics support attrition through enforcement, and 54% support amnesty. Not that the 54% support illegal immigration, just an amnesty “solution”.
