Bob “The Silencer” Bauer steps down, but not out, as Obama’s WH legal counsel

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 2, 2011 11:22 AM

Word from Washington this morning: White House legal counsel Bob “The Silencer” Bauer — husband of Fox-bashing Team Obama spinner Anita Dunn — is stepping down.

But he’s not retiring. He’s just switching seats on the bus, as usual, and gearing up for another bully boy presidential campaign.

A senior administration official say Bob Bauer is resigning as White House counsel to return to his private law practice and serve as President Barack Obama’s personal attorney and general counsel to Obama’s re-election campaign.

Flashback:

The thug politics power couple of Anita “A Pox on Fox” Dunn and Bob “The Silencer” Bauer isn’t going anywhere. I said it earlier this week and on Fox News early Thursday morning (vid here).

I’ll remind you again of Bauer’s handiwork during the 2008 campaign:

*It was Bauer who lobbied the Justice Department unsuccessfully last fall to pursue a criminal probe of American Issues Project (AIP), an independent group that sought to run an ad spotlighting Obama’s ties to Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

*It was Bauer who attempted to sic the DOJ on GOP donor Harold Simmons and sought his prosecution for funding the ad.

*It was Bauer who tried to bully television stations across the country to compel them to pull the spot. All on Barack Obama’s behalf.

Bauer’s specialty is stifling dissent. He’s married to the woman Obama entrusted to lead the campaign to de-legitimize critics in the media.

They’re saddling up for 2012. Does the GOP have anyone capable of combating them?

I know one.

Anyone hear what that slimy Axelrod is up to? All theose people out there working on the re-election campaign are definitely up to no good. I’m sure they are digging up dirt on anyone who might possibly, remotely, run for POTUS. That is why they need a legal beagle on the re-election staff. They need to know how far they can go without getting thrown in prison. They will libel and slander as much as they can get away with. Oh man…this is going to be so nasty. I dread this election season! Evil is spreading through the marxist dem party and they will stop at nothing. Just look at who is in charge of everything. They don’t play nice.

Have you heard about all the “flashmob” acts of vandalism and fighting that are breaking out all over the country? Something is going on and I think they are being orchestrated. I hope there is some investigation going on to find out what is behind all this. It could be the start of “creating a crisis that would be terrible to waste”.

Do you mean besides the collapse of the dollar from the U.S. defaulting on it’s debt? Or the final last stand of Israel against the muslim world? Or economic collapse brought on by $5 per gal gas? How about world wide food shortages from floods, drought and ethanol production, or hyperinflation caused by QE3 & 4 by the fed?

The bad news is, with the Everest-like pile of money that they’ll be able to devote to a campaign which by necessity will amount to nothing more than a torrent of Republican-bashing (what else do they have to run on?), I’m afraid that they’ll be able to make it stick.

And although no one can doubt Sarah Palin’s combative qualities, her high negative ratings overall – and particularly among independents – would only mean that Tina Fey would get another Emmy award.

The potentially good news is, trying to convince voters that “It could be worse” was basically the Republican strategy in 2006 and 2008, and see where it got them.

Funny you should write this. Mayor Rahm Emmanuel closed North Ave. Beach this past weekend–supposedly for “heat related health issues” of some beach goers. It wasn’t that at all, there were flash mobs involved–violent ones. Our new chief of police lied through his teeth and backed up Emmanuel. The Chicago Trib did NOT cover the story; however, ONE columnist in the Sun-Times verified that there was, indeed, violence at the beach. A direct quote from Emmanuel followed her assertion: “If we didn’t close the beach, imagine the questions we might have to be answering today.” That doesn’t sound heat-related to me. I’m telling you, the gloves are off in Chicago. Now gambling and an IL DREAM act are supposed to be signed by Quinnochio (pat quinn-gov. aka liar, liar, pants on fire.) meh

Are you kidding? The “first step” happened a long time ago. There is absolutely no risk involved with Barry being arrested for fraud/etc., (if that is even possible), that could be worse than continuing this fraud/charade for two, or maybe even six more years.

It was stated in Michelle’s portion of this thread that Bauer would return to his private law practice and serve as Barry personal lawyer (law office with one client?). If Barry were indeed to be arrested/indicted, then Bauer’s exit would make sense. I think Barry’s possible arrest is more speculation than one based in reality. Certainly plenty there to ponder, though.

Bob, I am with you. I posted this on a newer link. No one noticed. This is huge. Orly, of all people, will be the one that saves this ailing country.

F Bob and Anita, the toilet is swirling.

Ray, for some really strange reason there are a lot of people who post here who don’t believe the only issue that matters, the ineligible fraud in the White House, is important, especially the lady, Michelle Malkin, who is nice enough to let me continue to post here. There are some here that are very interested in the issue, and I appreciate their post on the subject very much.

I pray this time we get discovery, but if not, this issue WILL NEVER go away. It’s not like there is any doubt left about the usurpation of the presidency, and massive evidence of election fraud and the mother of all cover-ups.

There are some quotes from Obot lawyers at http://www.obamareleaseyourrecords.com that indicate they are worried. Imagine knowing, as the Obot lawyers do, that Obama is a fraud from the get-go, and in no way eligible to be president, and then spending your time trying to help him get away with the biggest fraud/charade in history. No wonder lawyers are so unpopular!

If the media, especially Fox News, is ever forced to break their silence on this issue the scam will end in a matter of days.

Sorry Bob, I missed your response last night. I live and breathe on the BirtherReport, like every two seconds. The Post & Email is one other, along with World Net Dailey.

I fell in love last night. Someone posted about zilla and Donald Turmp. So, I searched and found these links.

Ann Barnhardt will end up dead before I get a chance to kiss her. What a wonderful young lady. Check her out, and then cancel your cable service.

Gee, I wonder whether Bauer’s release of the fraudulent BC on 4/27 has anything to do with his resignation?
    Go to World Net Daily for Corsi’s article;
