More bad news for Silky Pony

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 21, 2011 11:52 AM

About $2 million in federal campaign matching funds that disgrace former Democrat Sen. John Edwards planned to use as legal fees in his adultery/bribery case must now be returned. The Federal Election Commission finally got around to slapping Edwards for violating election spending rules.

Shed no tears for Silky.

Via National Journal:

The Federal Election Commission has unanimously voted to require former Sen. John Edwards to repay $2.3 million in federal matching funds.

In a meeting Thursday, the commission approved an audit that showed Edwards’s campaign exceeded the amount of money it was allowed to spend during his 2008 presidential run. A preliminary audit had showed Edwards received more money than his campaign should have been given.

Edwards has about $2.6 million remaining in his campaign account, according to recently-filed disclosure reports.

FYI: His criminal trial is set for October.

And did you catch this? John Edwards tried to launch law firm before indictment.

Perhaps he, Eliot Spitzer, and Anthony Weiner can pitch a talk show proposal to MSNBC.

Oh, no. Wait. Fellow Democ-rat Al Sharpton already nabbed the gig.

You are right. People in Edwards lofty position eventaully believe they are too important as to be immune from law and, therefore, untouchable, which is why they are so often stunned when they not only get caught, but are prosecuted and convicted.

RetiredPoo-Poo said something really stoooopid about Tea Party Nation Corp, not Associated with the individual Tea Parties that are NON-Profit.

Tea Party Nation Corp. is a for-profit entity created by Phillips in 2009. Other groups in the state that also brand themselves as tea party organizations are set up as nonprofits, and Phillips has been criticized for this difference. On Wednesday, Phillips acknowledged there are dozens of tea party groups in Tennessee and said it may be confusing for people. It’s not a case of having “fake” organizations, he said, rather deviations in political ideology.

There are a lot of tea party groups,” Phillips said. “There are certain issues we don’t see eye to eye on.”

In the kind of society we live in, I don’t believe there is any way to stop it. In fact, I would expect that there will be those who will identify with the Tea Party movement in an effort to discredit it. But I consider it a badge of honor that this is occurring; it wouldn’t be happening if the Tea Party was irrelevant.

My religion does not support homosexuality, but I do. I was asked why I was supporting and marching with the homosexuals in parades, when according to the church, homosexuality is a sin. I responded that God gave people free will. God gave people the right to choose-even to choose sin. That’s why there is a heaven and a hell. So I will fight for people to have the right to go to hell if that’s what they choose. I’m not here to judge. I was placed here to fight for justice for all people.
