    NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing.

    At JBPHH (Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam) solar electric cells are being installed everywhere at a cost of millions. My family tells me that the same thing is happening at Tinker A.F.B. in Oklahoma.

    I’m a bit of a stick in the mud, I guess. I get upset when congress orders DoD to go ‘Green.’ I look all around this base and see contractor’s installing solar cells and solar water panels (which are great, by the way; I have on my home. I love hot water!)

    At the same time, I am also seeing rotation dates extended (no money for transfers and shipping household goods), downsizing ships AND personnel, deployments being extended, training cuts, etc. due to lack of funding.

    It sometimes seems that we are doing the moral equivalent of installing a swimming pool in your backyard while the roof needs new shingles.

    Such a finding is even possible because of the newer generation of space-borne sensing platforms. They had to be developed, tested and most importantly, calibrated accurately.     Kudos to the academicians and researchers that dared to think and publish such data. Sometimes the most important voices that need to be heard are the ones that most do not agree with.

    While I am not a proponent, generally, of ‘global warming’ theory, conserving resources and making things more efficient does serve the interest of our nation and humankind overall.
    At the same time, humans should think seriously of resource consumption vs. carrying capacity/sustainability, and find, and work towards, a long-term sustainable population level. Human population growth, unchecked into the future, will eventually reach a point where catastrophic changes to the natural and economic environments WILL occur.

    “Regions” of the earth are overpopulated and vast areas of land are grossly mis-managed, but the earth IS NOT OVERPOPULATED ! The idea that it is or soon will be is as great a hoax as GoreBull Warming !

    Geez, this was one of the big scarey chicken little thingies in the 70′s when I was a looney lib (UW Madison no less). Soon, the population will exceed the planet’s ability to sustain us. Mass starvation, violence, genocide, death, lions and tigers and bears, OH MY! The other big scare was, oh yeah, GLOBAL COOLING! New Ice age is coming ya know.

    I remember the global cooling scare of the early `70s too. In the late `70s or early `80s, the late great Paul Harvey exposed (for me) that the same socialist east Europeans who started the early green / environmental movement also started the global cooling hoax. It`s been the same ones since with the addition of new idiot blood that has morphed it into global-warming /-climate change /-climate disruption. The main point: it has been a socialist hoax from the beginning !

    People have been revealing that he’s a liar for 20 years. He still seems to be making money at it, though. As with all con men, at first you blame them for being dishonest.
