Pelosi: Boehner Chose to ‘Go to the Dark Side’

Internal polling among both parties must show their numbers softening among the fanboy base. A couple of days ago the focus was on hobbits and trolls, and also recently the LA Times reported that John Boehner mentioned Star Wars in a meeting of GOP leaders.

Not to be outdone, Nancy Pelosi picked up the Star Wars light saber, and, after using the laser sword for a quick periorbital wrinkle removal procedure, waved it at John Boehner:

Right before the House voted to reject a Democratic debt-ceiling plan, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi didn’t mince words.

Pelosi pulled out a Star Wars reference on the House floor, saying that Speaker John Boehner “chose to go to the dark side” and court the most conservative members of his conference, rather than work on a bipartisan compromise.

“It’s time for us to end this theater of the absurd,” she said. “It’s time for us to get real.”

That statement would imply that Pelosi didn’t assume Boehner had been on the dark side all along. Maybe that benefit of the doubt is her idea of the “new civility.”
