Obama Bus Tour: Obamneycare Edition; Updated
**Written by Doug Powers
President Obama’s “absolutely positively not a campaign event” bus tour is under way. Obama’s trip on “Greyhound One” (slogan: “leave the blaming to us”) prompted the Romney campaign to dub it the “Magical Misery Tour.” President Obama wasted no time launching a return salvo by… comparing Romney’s health care plan in Massachusetts to Obamacares.
From the Politico live blog:
President Obama spent a good amount of time at his “town hall” in Minnesota on Monday talking up his health care law, and trying further still to tie it to the plan enacted by the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
“You’ve got a governor who’s running for president right now who instituted the exact same thing in Massachusetts,” Obama said. “It’s like they got amnesia. Like, ‘Aww, this is terrible. This is going to take away freedom for Americans all over the world — all over the country.’”
People expressing unfounded concern for their constitutional liberties are such crybabies, aren’t they?
You might have notices that I added a bold “s” to the end of “Obamacare” in the first paragraph. Remember when Debbie Wasserman Schultz said that the term “Obamacare” was disparaging? Good news: If you add an “s” to the end of it the term is now acceptable:
Obama also reflected on Republicans labeling his signature law “ObamaCare,” saying: “I have no problem with folks saying Obama cares. I do care. If the other side wants to be the folks that don’t care, that’s fine with me.”
For some reason I’m reminded of Monsters, Inc. motto: We scare because we care.
And finally, Jay Leno has more information on the areas the bus tour will cover:
President Obama is off on his three-state bus tour this week. I believe the three states are Confusion, Delusion and Desperation.
Update: By way of Hot Air, President Obama was confronted by a couple of Tea Party members Monday:

I think you’ll find that Ms Malkin is not quite the nose-holder you may think she is. She’s quite capable of critical thinking, and I would be shocked – shocked mind you – to discover that she doesn’t “get” that we need conservatives in office, not Republicans.
I can totally agree with that! But maybe I should consult Phillis before I actually commit to that idea. I’m a RINO, you see. Gospel according to Phillis.
Oh yeah and that the two of you need to get a room.
I have seen the banter between ya’all and Phil. Frankly I think we are wasting our time here. The RNC, the elites, and the quasi-conservative media have annonited Perry and Romney.
I do not give a RIP about November 2012 yet. Frankly, who freakin cares.
The purpose of the current exercise is to put a conservative in the White House. Perry and Romney are not conservatives. Well, if you do not want them, then we should not be tearing each other apart on the issue of the general election.
The other day I mentioned I supported Bachmann, because it was time to choose. I got lots of what about Sarah? What about Cain?
I love them all. I think Rick Santorum is incredible, but its time to choose our conservative to defeat the RNC. We can get to Obama later.
It is time to choose. If Cain, Palin, or Santorum are picked by the majority of you over Bachmann, fine, I will join you. But if we go forward three or four conservatives, we’ll not have sufficient mass to defeat Perry and Romney.
We need to pick our conservative, focus our efforts, and do battle with the RINO’s. The Marxists come later.
Who did YOU vote for?
I have registered Indy since 2000. Can’t figure out how I’m a RINO. And I don’t give a flying f@rt for the GOP. I am looking for a genuine conservative leader. Period. By that I mean integrity, guts, traditional conservative values and the charisma to sell it. Phil doesn’t know what that means.
Am I allowed at this point to point out that you’re an idiot? I need a ruling from Ms Malkin.
I submit almost every single one of your posts as evidence in support of my position.
Mysogynist: I’m on a woman’s blogsite, genius.
Racist: I’m on a Filipino woman’s blogsite, genius.
And I’ve repeatedly and frequently expressed my respect and admiration for that Filipino woman… genius. Not to mention that Michele Bachmann is currently my favorite Presidential candidate, followed by Herman Cain. As I’ve expressed here before.
Bigot: well, you got me there:
I’m utterly intolerant of socialism and Islam, and of any opinion expressed in support of them.
I could point out that that definition says “any” differing… and I’m quite tolerant of Judaism and Darwinism.
Maybe you’ve never known any real bigots or racists… I have.
Then again, as I don’t fawn over the female (non)candidate you like, that makes me misogynist.
Better check that beam in your own eye, before you go poking at the mote in mine.
Is this bus a lowrider? If it isn’t I’m going to be really disappointed.
For 1.1 mill? I wanna see that baby bounce.
I’m not in favor of refusing your right to voice your opinion. I just find it insulting that I am talked down to simply because I point out a flaw in his premise of the DREAM Act and he links to an article concerning glowbull worming.
That doesn’t justify a ‘petulant 7 year old’ comment and I won’t let it pass.
Sorry, that’s the facts of life as I see it, don’t like it? Don’t comment on my comment’s. Put me on IGNORE.
Amen, great post, agree wholeheartedly!
Why do people think conservatism is in the minority and that we have to apologize for it?
Everything is indicating, at this point, that the majority of people agree with conservatism to one degree or another. If that’s so, we don’t need to “reach out” to the left, whether it’s left in the Democrat or left in the Republican party.
There is another issue here by the way.
The American people have the right to have the President and representatives they want. Any party that feels compelled to deceive the voters by running candidates who are soft on that party’s principles is undeserving of winning the office.
We conservatives should present our principles, select candidates who most represent those principles, and then win or lose… on those principles. And accept the will of the people, no matter how fecal-pated they turn out to be.
Point to H. Come in please. In Philville, anyone who voted McClown is a defacto RINO.
Why are notorious noseholders Doug Powers and Michelle Malkin not RINOS?
There’s some wisdom. To date, I’m with Bachmann – but that could change. When some here can’t seem to identify the enemy, the friendly fire gets counter productive and more than a little annoying.
PS…
Gratuitous verbal abuse or “name-calling” itself is not an ad hominem
Btw, by “accept”, I don’t mean embrace a 2nd Obama term. By “accept” I mean, realize that they chose what they wanted, and now’s the time to haul out the guns in revolution, because political solutions have failed.
How many times have you slide the HNIC term out there? Need I post the links?
Ask numerous women posters opinion of your interaction with them, most know?
Need I post the links of you stating that you will vote for Obama and did in ’08. No wonder you love Phil, you’re a liar too.
Conservatives don’t need liars and bigots.
Funny how Phil dissappears when the real issue hits the fan
Phil – Cat got your keyboard?
Who did you vote for?
Who do you support? (Besides The Donald)
Why are notorious noseholders Doug Powers and Michelle Malkin not RINOS?
Apparently, he took his dolls and dishes and went home. Or, Mom called him to dinner.
Either way, I don’t care. I don’t suffer self-important pseudo-intellectuals very well.
I believe Phil voted for the same guy I did, Bob Barr, he was the only Constitutionally eligible candidate on my ballot.
Well, I’m outta here. Got to get up early to work so I can help support the entitlement parasites.
Timmy will be looking for the quarterly extortion payments in the near future.
Peas OUT! Peas OFF, Phillis!
I don’t believe he was asking who he voted for in the general, not the primary.
As expected. The Philly Flier…
A tale told by an idiot
Full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.
Nite WP / VP / OK
Nite John Boy
Dream on Phil
Did you go wave at Odumboears today when he visited? …It’s a loaded question, I mean the two hand one finger salute.
Nite bro!
Thanks VIrginia Patriot. Even Fox is saying, “It’s now a three person race.”
Utter nonsense, but you sense the media once again pushing the herd towards the establishment candidates.
I confess, I do not know what I am going to do, if Romney or Perry gets the nomination. I agree with Mark Levin. The Republic is in such a state that if we do not reverse course it is over. Slowing momentum it merely a delay.
I do not think anyone on this site knows what catasptrophy awaits us if Obamacare is implemented. Why do you think Obama is doing everything to delay the courts and fight the Congress. Every day Obamacare, like a parasite burrowes deeper and deeper into our national fabric. If we elect a President who would only tweak it or compromise its implementation in return for other “favors” our freedom is doomed.
IMO that is what is at stake. When Bachmann would not budge on the debt ceiling her courage and strength won me over. That was the tie breaker.
But again, I’ll take any of the four that the majority of you and the Tea Party endorse. We cannot afford to lose.
As Patton once said, “It’s root hog or die.”
I missed him by 12 days. Went to Nordic Fest in Decorah. Tomorrow he stops in Peosta which is not even a wide spot in the road.
He’s flailing. Nite!
We have a 2 party system. We typically vote for Republican or Democrat. The others on the ballot from Independent to Green Party to Libertarian to Conservative do not constitute a majority or anywhere close to it. Maybe there is a good reason for that.
If you want to vote conservative, go ahead. It won’t be a majority view and elections are won by a majority so you’ll be making a point but will have virtually zero impact on the elections. Maybe someday in the future, it may make a difference but I won’t care at that point because I will be dead.
I don’t want to be in that group. No name calling needed.
So why are any of you ex-Confederates eligible?
Have to share a strange story. In our little town cenmetary we have many Union veterans from the Civil War. All are marked with a brinze insignia labled “G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic).
The other day I walked by a grave with the G.A.R. marker and saw this soldier’s grave said “36th VA Infantry CSA.” Ahhhh……. Someone screwed up.
This Veteran’s Day I intend to decorate his grave with a VA flag. I doid some research and found that it is possible that at the Battle of Fisher’s Hill in 1864 this guy and my great Grandfather might have been shooting at each other. Now that is too weird.
Another nights sleep and it will all be over
Nite bro
When people ask me my party affiliation I tell them I am a Constitutional Anarcist.
Works every time.
Hey Flyoverman, I think most of us here DO know what catastrophy awaits us with the implementation of (move that “s” up) OBAMASCARE—it’s the rest of the population (voting and nonvoting) that I wonder about.
On a lighter note, I’m so bummed over how dreary looking Greyhound One is—I mean, for $1 or $2 million I was expecting something more colorful like the psychedelic Partridge Family bus.
You are SOOOOOO right. He should have rented the Budweiser bus that accompanies the Clydesdales. That’s style!
That’s a Dennis Miller …. BEAUTIFUL !!!
Turn out the light. It’s past your bedtime! Nite everyone!
Fiery Exchange At Broke Hussein el Bama Town Hall
DECORAH, Iowa – Barry got into a heated back and forth with a Tea Party activist who demanded to know at the end of a town hall meeting here whether or not Vice President Biden had called members of the Tea Party “terrorists” during the debt ceiling debate.

BTW, too bad Odumboears doesn’t visit Peosta in the the spring, the pig sh!t in the fields would leave
I got one better for you. In Jan of ’11 the first phase of OdumboearsCares kicked in taxing suntanning salons. My question, is the IRS waiting to collect on this cat?
Flyoverman,
This is an honest to goodness question. I probably need to read up more on Bachmann and her background but I do have a question.
I am stuck on her lack of executive experience whether it be as a business owner or governorship.
I agree her stand by her stated principles is quite refreshing. What other reasons do you have that puts her in your #1 slot?
Hey, I just read this from Oblabber’s campaign trail today:
“I am very pleased to be out of Washington,” Obama said as he took the stage at a town hall event in Cannon Falls, Minn., about 45 miles southeast of Minneapolis.
Hmmm, guess he’s practicing for the evening of Jan 21, 2013.
T-minus 524 days … and counting …
She has managed her own business. She has had a private legal practice. Shed is an experienced Congressman.
A veteran is preferred, but at least she will listen. My number 2 would be Santorum. I like Palin a bunch, but she did not commit in time.
Flyoverman is an old man and needs his sleep
Bachmann has/had family businesses in both farming and Christian Counseling, a tax litigator and of course a US Congresswowan.
Barky broke the glass ceiling on experience.
Apparently she has business experience, but her weakness is executive experience and of course Senators, not Representatives become presidents.
But of course Obama had no business experience or executive experience. So I think all Bachman needs to a strong VEEP candidate to run with her. How about Trump
Green eyed Lady: ‘Under My Bus’ was very funny. Thanks for the laugh.
Your links are always informative, but this one deserves a special thanks.
THANKS
Apparently Obama went into a rant against a teapartier today. His thin is so skin, the pink shows through. He only has contempt for middle america.
Family business, farming, counseling, etc. aren’t in the category of leading a large organization and departments such as would be required in the Executive Branch.
As for Barky breaking the glass ceiling on experience, I would say he has demonstrated why the glass ceiling needs to be replaced with titanium.
No matter the training a doc may have, I wouldn’t want to be their first surgery patient.
As for the VEEP candidate, I highly doubt Trump would take being second fiddle well. Make him a valued adviser, definitely. Cain would fit the VEEP bill.
As for Sarah, she gets a pass due to the legal constraints she is under. Also, I don’t know if this is true as I don’t have the link but according to Hannity (I believe) a reporter tried to press her for answers at the Iowa State Fair. Her reply was “I’ll get back to you as I have some pressing business to attend to.” Reporter’s reply, “What pressing business?” Sarah’s response “I need to speak with that heifer over there.”
Honestly, I’d pay for tickets to see Sarah debate Barky. It would be a riot.
We do?
What I see is the Marxist Party and the “ooooh! We wanna be Marxist too plzzzzzzzzzzz!” Party.
We need a REAL TWO PARTY SYSTEM.
Sure!
Since we are kicking around candidates, Palin can’t legally announce until the end of August, at the earliest …someone said she could go as late as November, before making an announcement.

Unring The Bell !!!
Uh, no, dipstick. Not “the exact same thing.” Under RomneyCare, if I choose not to live in the state of Taxachusetts, I’m not affected by it at all.
Pasadena Phil said:

Just sticking with the facts here. Cobb’s “record” was broken before he ever set it. The major league career record for triples (309) is actually held by “Wahoo” Sam Crawford, a teammate of Cobb on the Detroit Tigers for many years and fellow Hall of Fame member, who retired from MLB in 1917.
If you choose not to live in the United States, you’re not affected by Obamacare.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
Ask Ms Malkin of her opinion of my interaction with her. No, I don’t treat all women equal, just as I don’t treat all men equal. I respect Ms Malkin, so I treat her respectfully. I don’t respect Palin much, so I don’t treat her with much respect. I don’t respect Obama at all…
As for the HNIC term, I *like* that term. I learned it from the movie, “Lean on Me” with Morgan Freeman (whom I remember fondly as “Easy Reader”) in the part of “Crazy” Joe Clark. I broke down laughing when Robert Guillaume told him “Contrary to popular opinion, I’m the HNIC!” (only he used the forbidden n-word which I’m not allowed to use because of the color of my skin…)
Obama is NOT the President. I refuse to even intimate that he is. He is my philosophical enemy. At *best* he’s the HNIC.
Chris Rock has a routine which he begins, “Black people… hate n-words.” (only, again, I can’t use the word because of the color of my skin). He then went on a diatribe describing these “n-words”, and it was wonderful, because he sounded like Jeff Foxworthy talking about rednecks (an ethnic slur anybody can use, regardless of skin color; ain’t equality grand?)
Since then I’ve been on a part-time crusade to get the n-word accepted as equivalent to “redneck”. I think it would take a lot of power away from the race-baiters (of all skin colors).
But, I digress. I like HNIC. I don’t like it because it hurts people; I like it because of the amusing image it puts in my head of someone trying to take more authority than he rates, or pretending to be in charge when he isn’t. In other words, Obama.
I’ve also used the term “Bog Irish” on here. I’ll have to tell my mother that I’m bigoted against her family.
The only “minority” I recognize is the individual. Tiptoeing around language, only certain people can use certain pop culture references… that’s BS. THAT is racism.
Inserting humorous break in the discussion – here.
Personally, I’m going with Bachmann unless something significant happens.
I’d like to know whether Phil voted for Boxer or Fiorina in 2010. I am suspect of people who spend all their time telling me why I shouldn’t vote for someone and never why I should. Nobody likes a Negative Nancy.
It seems this bus tour isn’t helping bho all that much, Rasmussen has him at -23 today. Tied for the lowest since elected! How low can it go?
L
As long as she’s in the hunt, me too. I started with her and she’s given me no reason yet to abandon her.
Not low enough.
Looks like Sock Puppets Rolling Disaster Revue is a case study in the law of Unintended Consequences. People are getting a close up view of the person that is continuing to destroy any future for this country and they do not like what they see. Sock Puppet blithely points fingers at everyone and everything but himself – Hey Barky, people are on to you!!
Barry “Copperfield” Soetoro will attempt an illusion to make all his bad stuff disappear.
He “owns” this terrible economic disaster by working the Cloward-Piven strategy to absolute perfection. Anyone that doesn’t believe this has bought into his illusion….and delusion.
all.my.friends.know the low rider.
New Campaign slogan:
The last 4 years were all bad luck. Obama 2012
Is ‘bad luck’ the new name for Bush now?
L
Barky’s Economic/Jobs Plan:
1. Buy some big black buses and ride around the Midwest.
2. ??????
3. Full economic recovery and jobs for everyone!!!
In that case, do you really want to take a chance on four more years of “Bad Luck Barry”?
Here’s my list for what to call that disastrous bus Obroke is riding around in:
The Big Bad Black Bus
The SWAT Team’s Bus
The We Have to Pretend We’re NOT Campaigning Bus
The Reminds You of the Economy Bus
The This is What Being Broke Looks Like Bus
Heh….that’s all I got…
re: Debbie W-S talking & getting heckled.
she said ‘economy turd’. Nice.
Okay, how about:
The Darth Vader Tour Bus?
The Money went down a Dark Hole Bus?
The Don’t Call this a “Black” Bus Bus?
C’mon help me out here…..hah!
Spacey – where did you see/hear the Debbie W-S bit?
Karl Rove was saying last night that September 22nd is the last practical date to enter the race as anything after that date will not guarantee access to all the caucases and ballots etc.
So Sarah or anyone else can go up to that date before committing. They could do so afterward but may suffer not getting into everything they want to.
Of course, waiting till Sep 22nd has it own risks of not being in the fight soon enough.
Hey, hey, Tragic Bus. Gonna get my Tragic Bus
How about BHOserBus…since it was built in Canada, evidently.
Caution: The following link contains dark sardonic humor… (yes it is about Obama’s bus)
How Barrack Obama could win in 2012
