Latest Terrific Creator of Jobs: Government Regulations

We already know that unemployment and food stamps are are great ways to stimulate the economy and create jobs, and Massachusetts Rep. Ed Markey now adds government regulations to the list.

Transcript by way of Weasel Zippers:

“Now the Texas governor Rick Perry has also said that the EPA is a job killer and called for president Obama to put a moratorium on all regulations for at least six months. This despite independent research that says environmental regulations actually create new jobs. In his book, Perry called global warming “one contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight.”

More regulations = a healthier economy and more jobs! And if you’re assuming those jobs are probably just more regulators, well, I’ve got news for you — you’re right:

null

Markey isn’t alone in his “regulator stimulus” claim:

Not everyone in the Obama administration sees a problem. The EPA thinks new regulations can fuel the economy and hiring. The EPA wrote in February that “in periods of high unemployment, an increase in labor demand due to regulation may have a stimulative effect that results in a net increase in overall employment.”

Think of the possibilities — Shutting down little kids’ lemonade stands alone could provide thousands of jobs in the near future!

Go to Regulations.gov to see just how many ways the government is stimulating the economy.

The thing Libs can’t understand is that to give a government job to some one you have to take the salary for it from someone else. Where is the gain? You soon run out of other people’s money.

I think this is a system you could warmly embrace……if you were a parasite.

Good corporations constantly look at how to trim corporate divisions because they are cost centers that bring in no revenue. The Federal goveernmen has morphed into the exacat opposite. They want to expand to grow their power and the expense of the rest of the enterprise, in this cae the United States.

The term “starve the beast” is not a punchline.

I’m beginning to think that Krugman’s aliens have been here since 2008, and switched our boobs in Washington with their own even bigger boobs, whilst we were sleeping.

There really are boobs bigger than what the Dimocrats put there? Amazing!

What’s more disheartening than kniwing there’s this much stupidity in government is knowing we’ll never get rid of them because the American electorate is cumulatively stupid enough to believe this BS and won’t see the need for reform-minded candidates.

Neal Boortz attributes that stupidity, on the part of both the bureaucrats and the public who elected the politicians who put the bureaucrats there, to government schools. I think he may be onto something.

Finally! Someone else who is willing to see the electorate for it is.

You’re both right, and Boortz is more to the point than most.

I’d just like to add: follow the money.

Markey’s just another political demagogue mouthing the most recent rhetorical talking point. These people can’t possibly believe this gibberish. If the do, their terribly misguided. If they don’t then they are rank liars. Take your pick.
