Chris Christie: Climate Change is Real, Humans Contribute

And you thought the global warming loveseat was crowded before

From NJ.com:

In case anyone had any doubts on where Gov. Chris Christie stands on climate change, he made his position crystal clear this afternoon: It’s real and it’s a problem.

In vetoing a bill (S2946) that would have required New Jersey to stay in a regional program intended to curb greenhouse gases — a program Christie plans to leave by the end of the year — the governor said “climate change is real.”

He added that “human activity plays a role in these changes” and that climate change is “impacting our state.”

I don’t yet know why Christie vetoed the bill if greenhouse gases are such a problem. Maybe the “fixes” were too expensive, but if some politicians think they can swim in the waters of AGW without getting wet or soaking taxpayers, they should think again. As Joshua advised at the end of War Games, the only winning move is not to play.

Moving away from mid-80′s movie references as fast as I can, here’s Christie from earlier this year:

“I can’t claim to fully understand all of this,” he said. “Certainly not after just a few months of study. But when you have over 90 percent of the world’s scientists who have studied this stating that climate change is occurring and that humans play a contributing role it’s time to defer to the experts.”

He added that climate science is complex and “we know enough to know that we are at least part of the problem.”

Defer to the experts? No thanks.

Ann Coulter says Christie is the only Republican who can defeat President Obama next November, but if he’s going to keep talking like this, I beg to differ (I beg to differ anyway, but especially now).

Of course, there’s always a chance that Christie’s just tired of Republicans wondering if he’s going to run for president and this is his way of getting them to stop asking.

    The Issue:
Sharif El-Gamal, CEO and developer of the “Ground Zero Mosque” project (aka Park51), is blatantly dishonoring this year’s 9-11 Anniversary by using it as a $7-10 million fundraiser for the Mosque. He and other organizers are now employing a different tact to fundraise by marketing their mosque in kinder, gentler language.

    He should be impeached.

Obama will not be impeached by this Congress no matter what he does, nor will his ineligibility or various other crimes be investigated.

I don’t mind being ignored when I say this and I appreciate not being called names….but this is why Barry will not be impeached…ever:

Members of Congress knowingly assisted in getting an ineligible candidate on the ballot in 2008 and have participated in covering up their crimes until this day. Any impeachment or investigation would result in members of Congress going to prison…therefore…impeachment of Obama will not happen.

If the House did take up impeachment, for whatever reason, the process and massive discussion of Obama that would take place would finally answer the question of “Who is Barry Soetoro”. It would matter not whether the Senate voted to remove Obama from office…his presidency would effectively be over…..but….to protect themselves, Congress will never impeach Obama. They would rather be made irrelevant, which they now are, than expose their members to the possibility of wearing prison orange.

Spend a little time looking at the evidence of Pelosi’s two different DNC certification forms, and the Democrat Party Of Hawaii’s refusal to certify Barry to be on the 2008 ballot until the words, “per the Constitution” were removed from their certification form.

Congress and the media,(including Fox), will prevent the truth about Obama from being revealed for as long as they possibly can.

‘Scientists’…the term is losing its value…..say there may have been as many as 8 ice ages in the last million years. Each ice age is part of a cycle of the earth warming and cooling. We scarcely had a presence on earth over much of that time, so no one would claim that mankind caused the ice ages. The warming and cooling cycle occurs independent of man. Are we leaving some kind of footprint on the atmosphere ? Maybe. But we are leaving our footprints everywhere. Does Long Island today look like Long Island of 1500 a.d.? Do the prairie grasses still blanket the midwest ? Do the rivers still flow just as they did when the Europeans first came ? Of course not. In living, we change things. Global Warming is a ploy to create fear and anxiety in the minds of the great unwashed, and in so doing, make it easier to rule over them. It is the Ruling Class that peddles this nonsense that we should fear.

This has become a litmus test issue as far as I’m concerned. Anyone who aspires to high office and is gullible enough to fall for the lies which undergird this matter in the name of science are unworthy of our trust.

Look at all the “scientific evidence” developed in Nazi Germany proving that Jews were genetically inferior. There are people who are still convinced of the legitimacy of this propaganda.

Al Gore recently bloviated that the anti AGW folks were paying false scientists to deny the “truth”. A common pattern – whatever deception the libs are practicing is exactly what they accuse their opponents of doing. It is they who are paying pseudo-scientists with government grants to prove the theories their careers depend on.

Any candidate who is too foolish to see through this kind of group-think will never get my vote.

Too many conservatives scratch someone off of their list over one incident or comment. Even Reagan, the one who all conservatives are measured against, had to compromise on many issues with Democrats. There are many uncompromising conservatives in this country, yours truly included, but there aren’t any in politics who can will a national election.

Sometimes we should overlook a comment in order to elect the best candidate. Democrats have been very successful at doing that. Their candidates move to the middle during a campaign and so must ours.

Reducing CO2 doesn’t clean our environment at all. In fact, resources allocated towards CO2 reduction could be better used to actually clean the environment.

Really, who cares what Christie believes? He vetoed the program because he is capable of divorcing ideology from reality. That’s an important quality in a leader — doing what is right in spite of what you may believe. He wouldn’t be my first choice on the Republican ticket, but I’d feel comfortable with him in the White House, and I’ll give him good odds at beating BO in 2012.

Now if we could only get Rubio to run, it would be a slam dunk.
