David Axelrod: To Create Jobs We Need to Do More of What Didn’t Work the First Time

It’s too bad certain members of the administration feel compelled to offer previews of what might be in President Obama’s “jobs speech” next month, because they’re spoiling the, uh, surprise.

From The Hill:

David Axelrod said Sunday that lawmakers need to take action to jumpstart the struggling economy.

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Axelrod, a senior strategist for President Obama’s reelection campaign, previewed the coming jobs speech by the president next month. Axelrod emphasized that renewing a payroll tax cut and rebuilding the nation’s crumbling infrastructure will be among the items Obama will want to push through.

“Rebuilding the nation’s crumbling infrastructure” to create jobs? If only somebody would have thought to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to do that very thing sooner! Oh, wait. And don’t forget about the billions more put towards “crumbling infrastructure” last year.

Meanwhile, the president’s defense of the economy is “it would have been way worse if we hadn’t taken action”:

President Barack Obama said on Sunday he expects to be judged in the 2012 election over his governance of the American economy, which he said was still not growing fast enough.

“For me to argue, look, we’ve actually made the right decisions, things would have been much worse has we not made those decisions — that’s not that satisfying if you don’t have a job right now,” Obama told CBS in an interview taped last week and aired during his annual vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, an island near Boston.

Were it not for the Obama administration’s prowess, these folks might have had to wait in line for two nights instead of just one.

Here the guy’s getting grey hairs trying to make the world a better place for you and me – and you go and rip him a new orifice? Sing it with me; “We are the world! We are the childre….” Just threw up in my mouth a little. Sorry.

Anyhow, you get my vote for rant of the day.

Nope…somethin’ ain’t right about that. He is demonstrating his abject hatred of all things military. I think of that when I see a flag at half-staff. Damn him.

God Almighty On High I am so sick of listening to this administration’s horsedump. Today the anointed one says that his bad polls are not because of him. Au contraire. He says that his bad polls are the result of the American People being upset with Congress…

These times require a great leader, and Barky is not even a mediocre one.

Right now he owns the most devastating label of all: President Wimp – someone that can’t lead and absolutely no answers to our country’s problems.

We will see another Texas cowboy, a TEA Party leader, or even a successful entrepreneur in the White House before long.

They are selling genuine hope. That’s what the people of this country desperately want and need.

Yeah the CCC etc. It was pretty cool. They built a lot of national parks lodges. But it was all window dressing paid for by actual working free market taxpayers.

Anything not done as a result of direct public demand is a criminal waste. Axelrod knows this but the Sirens’ lure is powerful and he is hoping most Americans are not students of history. Self deport yourself and your family to some old world Socialist bastion Dave, like Russia or Norway maybe. You’ll be happier.

Statists must no longer have free access to taxpayer dollars. To permit it is absolutely a criminal malfeasance. No more.

Answers? LOL. Obama has no answers to the country’s problems because he is deliberately creating crises for his Statist ends. He is a genius after all. Don’t you know that this is planned? None of this is a mistake, it is all by design.

you gotta admit, this total lack of a clue whatsoever by Emperor Barack and his GreasyHair gang of thugs is pretty funny.

they hate us so much, and have done so much damage to our nation, that they literally will ride the Marxism horse to a landslide loss in 2012 just for the fun of F’g all of us over for another 16 months (and for the years thereafter it will take to flush all the Marxist Sewage out of our system and make us America again).

wish we still had public hangings.

I watched Axelrod on one of the Sunday shows and he was clearly out of sink with his usual spin. The guy struggled with some of his answers, most of his arguments were disjointed and frankly, he didn’t look like he was having any fun.

This indicates to me that the President’s team is in disarray. I believe the President threw out the comment on his bus tour that he would have a jobs plan after vacation out of complete desperation. The comment may even have been unscripted.

But there is no “jobs” plan and there never has been one. Now the poor White House staff havwe to work through the nights and weekends to come up with a “plan” while their boss is vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard – all because Obama mispoke. Anyway that’s my take.

Back to the Sunday shows – Axelrod looked like he was suffering from indigestion during the whole interview – the kind you get from stress. I think Axelrod is really struggling to spin a message and his heart’s no longer in the fight.

In my opinion, he is on the wane with respect to his power in the campaign. I think he is being pushed out by Robert Gibbs, who has reappeared on the scene and was also making the rounds this weekend, but was much more polished and on message than Axelrod.

Mark my words – Gibbs will have a bigger role than Axelrod soon – at least in the public messaging. (By the way, that has been Gibb’s goal for a long time.)

Even though I am just a Tea Party terrorist (or whatever is the latest slur), I know a little of what I speak.

I went toe to toe in a debate with Axelrod at the end of June, and I clearly got to him. I think underneath he thinks of our little encounter, and his worst nightmare came true when the President was challenged by Ryan Rhodes (bless his courage).

These people are no great intellects, believe me. They can be defeated. They need to be debated at every chance, just like Ryan Rhodes did.

This is the first rule of business, that if your business is doing well (growing and profitable) keep doing the same, but if your business is not doing well, you must change things or that trend will continue.
This is why you never want to have an academician run anything, because theories that make up their learning process NEVER FAIL. Global warming THEORY, Keynesian economic THEORY, Darwin’s Evolution THEORY, etc. THE REASON THESE ARE STILL THEOIES, IS BECAUSE THEY CAN’T BE PROVEN OTHERWISE THEY WOULD BE FACTS.

Here’s an easy jobs plan you could write while waiting for wifey to get dressed for the beach.

    1. Cut taxes- Don’t worry about “paying” for it which Nancy Pelosi screams about. We just borrow more if we don’t get enough. But remember, it is proven that if you cut taxes, you increase revenues because more people are working wich means more people paying taxes at a lower rate = more tax revenues. Funny that.

Well, that’s the plan in full. Specifics about which tax and whose tax don’t really matter. Just cut them somewhere and the economy will improve, revenues will go up and if you do it now you will be reelected in Nov 2012. The bigger the cuts, the easier reelection becomes. After all, Obama does nothing that isn’t campaign oriented.
