Romney: On Second Thought, Maybe Humans Aren’t the Cause of Climate Change… Mostly

By Doug Powers  •  August 25, 2011 09:11 AM

**Written by Doug Powers

Over two months ago, Mitt Romney told a New Hampshire audience, “I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that.” Al Gore offered praise and polar bears rejoiced.

At some point between that early June day and now, Romney had a scientific or political epiphany that caused him to tweak his position:

He was asked about global warming at a town hall meeting in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and said he believed the world is getting hotter and humans contribute in some way to the change.

“Do I think the world’s getting hotter? Yeah, I don’t know that but I think that it is,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s mostly caused by humans.

“What I’m not willing to do is spend trillions of dollars on something I don’t know the answer to.”

It’s not an official anthropomorphic flip-flop yet because Romney’s still of the opinion that humans are causing the climate to change — it’s just a question of how much (or little). One thing’s for sure: Whether or not at some point Romney flat-out says humans aren’t the cause of climate change — or even declares himself a proud global warming denier — will directly correlate with his standing in the polls. That science is settled.

(except for some reason Obama’s–his is private)–somehow we need to make it as easy on them as its been for Obama. (maybe not quiiite as easy)

O/T: Sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but it`s important and scary. Mark Davis, subbing for Rush just mentioned it; Ann Barnhardt wrote Aug. 18, 2011, http://barnhardt.biz/ that the American Psychiatric Assn. (APA) is moving to normalize pedophilia. Folks, this will remove a stumbling block to sharia law in the USA. Sharia law and the koran “condone, allow, even encourage” mostly adult males to have sex with children of both genders.

It seems each new day brings reason for a whole new level of disdain for all things islam !

I heard that too. And they have renamed pedophiles “minor-attracted adults”. This gets sicker every day. God cannot be pleased. And He will not be mocked! There is a moral disease permeating the world and we must fight against it with everything we have. Evil is strong, but it is also easy to spot.

Has anyone noticed that commercial with the little girl in a scant swim suit in the water, jumping over the waves, etc. Her swim suit is very flimsy and clings to her body. Then she walks away and looks almost naked. She is about 7 or 8 years old. Every time I see that I think of the pedophiles who get off on stuff like that. Why do they put that kind of commercial on the air? Are they that blind? Or am I just a sick-minded old fool? Don’t answer that, please! I really think the commercial is a bad one and it has been running for quite some time now. I can’t even remember what the product is, but I don’t think it has anything to do with little girls jumping over ocean waves.

My point is that it is not your job as a voter to decide Supreme Court cases. It is your job to pick people you think will uphold the Constitution.

As to the question of your morality or hypocrisy or whatever it is with regard to your complaints about Obama’s eligibility, if you think the biggest problem with Obama is his eligibility ….. well, again, you are riding Phil’s screwy train.

    Reality matters.

There are two sides to every vote:

    1) Who you are voting FOR.

    2) Who you are voting AGAINST.

If you can’t vote FOR someone who is in the race on election day, your job as a voter is to stop the worst one from damaging the Republic.

If it comes to that on election day, some damage will be done. It is already a fact. Your job is to minimize the damage, not to ride on some moral high horse/unicorn facing backwards shouting “I am not a noseholder! I am a man of principle!”

Nobody cares about your ego or what you think are your principles when you are doing the clearly wrong thing.

Both require that both parents be citizens at the time of the child’s birth (allegiance is an adequate substitute for this purpose).

Explain this. If allegiance is an adequate substitute, you have Rubio’s parents who swore allegience to the U.S. and were waiting to become citizens. Rubio was born here of parents who fled Cuba because of persecution and were diligently working toward full citizenship, which they did achieve. Sounds like allegiance to me.

First, at what point did they swear allegiance? Where’s the proof of this oath or affirmation of fealty?
Second, “allegiance” is adequate because it speaks of allegiance to a king. We don’t have a king.
Third, I don’t subscribe to Blackstone, but to Vattel. Allegiance is adequate for a Blackstone interpretation, but a Blackstone interpretation does not solve the concern the Founding Fathers had; to ensure that the commander in chief not only was loyal to the U.S., but had no possibly conflicting loyalties. A Moslem can swear allegiance and be lying through his teeth. Only the Vattel definition secures the purpose of Article 2 section 1. As such, it must be the definition the Founding Father’s followed, or else they would have worded it differently. They were literate men in a literate age, and knew the difference between “natural” and “native”.
