President Zero; Update: White House runs away from costly EPA regs
Scroll for updates…Obama retreats from multi-billion-dollar EPA ozong regs…

Critics of cypher Barack Obama have been calling him “President Zero” for years. (See here here here here, for example.)
Now, the lib media is discovering just how fitting that moniker has been.
After today’s report of ZERO net job growth, the New York Times “reports” on the “demeaning” “new” label:
G.O.P.’s New Obama Label: President Zero
It took the Republican National Committee exactly 94 minutes to coin a new, demeaning title for Barack Obama: President Zero.
In an email to reporters, the R.N.C. took note of the worst job report in nearly a year, saying that there has been “two and a half years of Obamanomics and nothing to show for it.”
The monthly report, which showed a 17,000-job gain among private employers but no growth overall, provides Mr. Obama’s Republican rivals with the perfect opportunity to criticize him as they prepare to gather for another nationally-televised debate next week.
And it gives Mr. Obama an even more gloomy backdrop for the jobs speech he will give to a joint session of Congress next Thursday. In the speech, Mr. Obama is expected to call for a renewed national effort to put people back to work and trim the nation’s deficit.
It’s not a “new” nickname. It’s just been re-confirmed.
In response to the dismal zero-growth news and jobless rate stuck at 9.1 percent, President Zero’s Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told a cable news anchor this morning:
“I do feel like we’re going in the right direction…”
Right off the cliff…

More news/reax:
WSJ… “The U.S. economy failed to add jobs for the first time in almost a year, raising the odds of a return to recession and putting more pressure on President Barack Obama and the Federal Reserve to revive a moribund labor market.”
CNBC… “It was the first time since World War II that the economy had precisely net zero jobs created for a month.”

Update: On Tuesday, Doug Powers noted that House GOP John Boehner sent the White House a letter flagging massively expensive, proposed EPA smog regs.
Today, the White House rejected the controversial ozone regs:
President Barack Obama on Friday asked the Environmental Protection Agency to withdraw a proposed regulation for ozone air quality standards, citing the nation’s wobbly economy.
President Obama, in a statement, said that by requesting withdrawal of the ozone regulations “I have continued to underscore the importance of reducing regulatory burdens and regulatory uncertainty, particularly as our economy continues to recover.”
A passenger enters a Kansas City Metro bus that warns of an Ozone Alert in Kansas City, Missouri, last month.
The EPA’s ozone rule has been among the more controversial regulations proposed by the environmental agency. Republicans and industry groups say the rule would be too costly to implement and lead to a slowdown in economic growth. Earlier this week, House Republicans said they would hold a vote this winter on a bill to prevent its implementation.
You might consider this another bow to Boehner.

The term PRESIDENT ZERO doesn’t even begin to do justice to this loose cannon on deck as He destroys our economy. Zero is a kind of neutral number–not good, not bad. Although capable of making things much better or worse as a digit holder.
***
I prefer the term COMRADE OBAMA for The Messiah. It explains why we are always taking it in the shorts with His bad decisions. Nothing neutral here–just bad to the bone for our country and economy.
***
I hope this 1 year delay in implementing more unnecessary but job killing EPA regulations includes the impending shutdown orders for lots of coal fired power plants. The damage from their shutdowns will be much more immediate than the longer term damage done by these unneeded ozone regulations.

Literally? Or Fellini-esque?
Is the flying blood-pressure cuff a metaphor for…………oh, never mind.
Or is that Ingmar Bergman? I get confused.
I know how to stop a thread.
Sorry. Guess I’ll get back to work.
Have we seen proof?
Oh yeah, it’s right there with an official Hawaian BC and all his college transcripts. You just gotta look real hard and squint your eyes jest right.
FIFY
Yes, Obama claims Every Single Cabinet is a separate power of government. Much like the courts, legislation and executive branches. Claims he can’t control what they do (in order to distance himself from their destructive actions). But now he can stop these EPA regulations?
I prefer Pekinpah!
oops; s/b ‘Peckinpah’
lo siento
Recovery? What freakin’ recovery? STOP using the word recovery, Obiwankadope! Everything you and your people do damages our economy and our Constitution. I’ve never distrusted the “government” the way I do now.
Oh yes, blood gushing everywhere! Like a Monty Python picnic sketch!
There’s a wall in the WH.
BHO and his advisers stand in front of it and throw.
So far, nothing is sticking. plop plop plop
Though occasionally something does bounce back to hit Obama right between the eyes….

And that good sir, more than anything is what drives me up a WALL about this pResident. Any time He’s being interviewed you see these contemplative pauses to ensure He’s getting the correctly encrypted messages across to the hard left.
Nothing Neutral should be His middle freaking name. Bring up an issue or topic and his toggle ‘defaults’ to “is this good for the Progressive Cause”? It’s just how He’s wired.
Nothing Neutral also equates to: Zero Peace for Conservatives. In order to combat His 24/7 365 Agenda you’d have to a) get a divorce b) disown your family c) quit your profession and d) be prepared to go toe-to-toe and from coast-to-coast at the drop of a hat.
Otherwise, He wins.
yes; “and the blood goes psssssssssss in slow motion..”
plop, plop, fizz, fizz…
November 2012 where the relief is!
I realize the pic is supposed to be Obama-Urkel, but wouldn’t a pince-nez be more appropriate, seeing as how Obummer is taking his cue from FDR?
Obama’s claim that he has no control over regulatory agencies is ridiculous on it’s face. He is not only the Commander In Chief, he’s the Chief Executive Officer of the entire Federal Government. That includes the entire bureaucracy.
Every single agency head and their top managers serve at his pleasure and must do his bidding, with or without his knowledge, or risk being fired. He has the ultimate club. And he knows it, so I believe he’s blatently lying.
You lie,
you big fat
lying liar!
People, don’t let him get away with saying this crap.
Thank you CO2! Those of us with facilities and keeping compliance records have been bombarded since mid July with calls and e-mails from EPA contracted compliance firms to warn us of the approaching reporting deadlines for CO2. It has been a nightmare and as I dove into it to get a handle on whether we were compliance I discovered all they did was take old estimated fugitive methane release calculations and call the values generated CO2 “equivelents”.
Methane as a green house gas, m’okay, not farting every 45 seconds is doable. CO2 as a GHG? try exhaling at the same frequency you fart. Its about the same damn thing for industry.
I appreciate the feedback, DanMan.
Just to clarify, certain things have changed already, such as the 1099 reporting requirement, which was repealed, but the point is that the requirement was signed into law in the first place. Initiating the regulations, then stepping back from them when they shouldn’t have been forced upon us originally, shows a pattern of shooting first then asking questions later. That’s not how government should be run.
Obama now wants to double down on stimulus spending to create jobs, but he is still spending the original stimulus. The fact that it has resulted in zero jobs for August should make it clear that additional stimulus money will not help. Any increased amount of stimulus spending times zero still equals zero.
You can’t get the water level of a pool to rise by taking water out of the deep end and redistributing it to the shallow end. All you get is more waste and evaporation even if you do it twice as fast.
We really can’t blame Obama. With globalization taking hold America’s best days are behind us. We will just have to adjust to the new reality. I have a family member that graduated top of her class here in USA then immigrated to Europe to find work. If you have a good work skill you will be able to find a job in the world economy. If you’re a high school drop out you will end living at a place like diginty village in Portland, OR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dignity_Village
Now we just need to eliminate all welfare programs so that only producers eat and the slackers immigrate someplace else.
Off Topic
“Valerie Jarrett, a close friend of Barack and Michelle Obama is the former CEO of Habitat Company, which managed Grove Parc, a federally subsidized apartment complex on Chicago’s South Side that can be accurately described as a slum. Jarrett is now a senior adviser to the president.
On Wednesday with great fanfare the awarding of a $30.5 million federal grant to revitalize Grove Parc–by tearing it down–was announced.
The irony is thick here. Jarrett’s Habitat runs Grove Parc into the ground, and now the federal government funding its demolition and the building of its replacement.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan, Sen. Dick Durbin, and US Rep. Bobby Rush attended the Grove Parc ceremony. Jarret was not there. In fact, no mention of her role in mismanaging the unhappy homes was mentioned by the Chicago Sun-Times or the Chicago Tribune.”

Gee willikers. Can’t call him, “President Food Stamps”. Can’t call him, “President Zero”. All that doesn’t matter to me as long as, on January 20, 2013, I get to call him “Former President Obama”!
Now if Boehnor and Comapny had stood up to Obama during the Budget Ceiling Non-Debate, imagine the concessions Boehnor and company would have gotten on the budget-and the reaction to all this by the financial markets.
Imagine.
More bad news for Obama. Another major Obama bundler and green loan recipient, The Underpants Gnomes, Inc., have also gone out of business. Locals are not happy.
i would prefer to call him former president obama much sooner, if any weak kneed politician could only pull the trigger on impeachment articles!
The President has delayed ONE of his mistakes.
Just one.
We need to roll back the entire progressive agenda to restore America to a competitive position.
How about we void every law since 1962 and have a do-over?

Gotta love those Texas conservatives who support Rick Perry, father of the TX DREAM Act 2001.
Considering the massive evidence of a long list of crimes Obama is involved in, the most damaging to America being the usurpation of the presidency, I would much prefer he be called something like:
Inmate number O-666.
Oh, and forget impeachment, it will never happen no matter what he does.
Bullfeathers! Yes, we CAN blame Obama. He is the one doing this to us! With the help of his marxist cronies, every one of them. We all know how we can get our economy booming again. This country is the BEST when our free market is allowed to do it’s thing. And we all know who is preventing that…the socialists in power. My God man, we can’t even advertise our products any more if they have a little salt in them!
75% of the American People are on to Obama and he won’t be getting away with it much longer. I just pray it isn’t too late to reverse the damage. My husband thinks the tipping point is tipping as we speak, and it may already be impossible to stem the tide of economic collapse.
Tell your husband,”Bob the Birther”, completely agrees with him.
And…have a great Labor Day weekend.
kwrxxx, I prefer to believe you’re half right. Yes, we have to contend with globalization. It’s already here and we need to use our economic machine again to make it work for us. I do not however, believe our best days are behind us. When government gets out of our way gain, our best days can still be ahead for us and particularly, for our kids and grandkids.
When government gets out of our way again…..
We, as legal Americans, are “born” with certain inalienable rights…..
But this gubmint wants to give and take away.
Back at you, Birther, from another crazy, right-wing extremist birther!
Eat lots of meat!! And don’t forget to turn UP your A/C! Could be a hot weekend, due to that global warming causing thing called summer!
The days are dwindling down to a precious few…enjoy them to the fullest and use the resources that God provided for His People!
Vegetarians and atheists can ignore my last comment.
We may be @ that point. With all the regulations that have been created since BHO took office, it will take awhile to get rid of them (and bad old ones) after we win in 2012. We have to stand by our pols while they get this done, push them but remember that it may take more than 4 years to undo.
I agree, there are opportunities out there to exploit. Americans are the most creative people out there.
We used to be the best civilization in history when we were just Americans living under Constitutional law. With less than 4% of the world’s population, we accounted for more than 30% of the world economy. Why don’t we go back to that? We just aren’t good at this globalization thing. No one is. It killed the Roman and English empires and it will kill ours too if we don’t wise up.
bho’s up coming speech will amount to a bunch of zeros. Zero in content follower by his spending proposal which will contain more zeros.
The tipping point is about the cost of gov. We are paying for failure in all forms. The failures of central planing are all around. How much more money would be available for disasters if the states held the money? How much money is wasted on salaries and office space for federal workers who dispense the money back to the states with strings attached. Mr. Zero will reduce us all to zero.
My guess is that Obama will do what he always does when he is cornered on a particular issue: change the subject. I don’t know if he can succeed on the economy this year but there is a major build up of US military going on in Afghanistan right now. I expect something big next year. We already know where the Iran nukes are. If we now know where the Pakistan nukes are, I expect that we will take both out and then pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq soon after. Are we ready for Obama the conqueror?
Why is Perrybush’s “conservative” Texas criminalizing childhood?
I don’t know but why is it so hard for Texans to see that if it weren’t for their state constitution, their state would already by worse than CA. The same things that ruined CA (illegal immigration, inflows of populations from liberal states and corrupt GOP) are destroying their state? Perrybush is a big part of that.
So stop bashing us CA conservatives. You are making the same bed for yourselves and CA, not being as parochial as TX, was not as unpopular around the country as TX is and will be. You will need all of the friends you can get in a few years.
Zeros for all! We are witnessing the total exposure of gov corruption. So many of our citizens have traded honor and integrity for sucking up to the powerful. The “I’ll scratch you back if you scratch mine” has placed the country in peril. All in the public eye have done this. Those running the banks, Wall Street, Hollywood, large corporations, Higher education and the Media have acted like groupies to the political elites. They all colluded to mislead the public. Now the fruits of their labors are being exposed for the frauds they all have been. I’m sick of hearing the CEOs now complaining that bho is anti-business. Why didn’t they see that? Because they thought they would be getting bennies from him and since that didn’t happen, they’re mad. Well, I’m mad too! At all of them for putting their own selfish interests above the welfare of the country. They all suck! This is what happens when those who think they deserve more or feel they can buy perks while sticking it to the rest of us. Watch for the “elites”, our self-proclaimed “betters” to reap what they have sewn. “All are punished”!
Bill Clinton should be learning a new appreciation for the Republican party because but for them goes he.
Of course that has not one thing in this world to do with all liberals being convinced that no matter how many total and abject failures they and their ideology suffers that they alone are the saviors of the creed. How are the grandly deluded ever to know?
Case in point:

Pretty simple.
If Obama merely reversed himself 180 on virtually EVERY policy he truly believes in, then he’d make one of the best presidents in American history.
And if I had wings, I could fly to the store to pick up milk and bread.
