To mark Labor Day 2010, President Obama will join hands with AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka in Milwaukee and pose as champions of the working class. Bad move. Trumka’s organizing record is a shameful reminder of the union movement’s violent and corrupt foundations.
The new Obama/AFL-CIO power alliance — underwritten with $40 million in hard-earned worker dues — is a midterm shotgun marriage of Beltway brass knuckles and Big Labor brawn. Trumka warmed up his rhetorical muscles this past week with full-frontal attacks on former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He indignantly accused her of “getting close to calling for violence” and suggested that her criticism of Tea Party-bashing labor bosses amounted to “terrorizing” workers.
Trumka and Obama will cast Big Labor as an unassailable force for good in American history. But when it comes to terrorizing workers, Trumka knows whereof he speaks.
Meet Eddie York. He was a workingman whose story will never scroll across Obama’s teleprompter. A nonunion contractor who operated heavy equipment, York was shot to death during a strike called by the United Mine Workers 17 years ago. Workmates who tried to come to his rescue were beaten in an ensuing melee. The head of the UMW spearheading the wave of strikes at that time? Richard Trumka. Responding to concerns about violence, he shrugged to the Virginian-Pilot in September 1993: “I’m saying if you strike a match and you put your finger in it, you’re likely to get burned.” Incendiary rhetoric, anyone?
A federal jury convicted one of Trumka’s UMW captains on conspiracy and weapons charges in York’s death. According to the Washington, D.C.-based National Legal and Policy Center, which tracks Big Labor abuse, Trumka’s legal team quickly settled a $27 million wrongful death suit filed by York’s widow just days after a judge admitted evidence in the criminal trial. An investigative report by Reader’s Digest disclosed that Trumka “did not publicly discipline or reprimand a single striker present when York was killed. In fact, all eight were helped out financially by the local.”
In Illinois, Trumka told UMW members to “kick the s**t out of every last” worker who crossed his picket lines, according to the Nashville (Ill.) News. And as the National Right to Work Foundation (pdf), the leading anti-forced unionism organization in the country, pointed out, other UMW coalfield strikes resulted in what one judge determined were “violent activities … organized, orchestrated and encouraged by the leadership of this union.”
Trumka washed off the figurative bloodstains and moved up the ranks. As AFL-CIO secretary, he notoriously refused to testify in a sordid 1999 embezzlement trial involving his labor boss brethren at the Teamsters Union. No surprise. Thugs of a feather: Trumka’s violence-promoting record echoes the riotous Teamsters strikes dating back to the 1950s, when the union organized taxicab companies to target workers with gas bombs, bottles and fists.
And now, Trumka is spearheading a Democratic Party get-out-the-vote campaign by far-left groups — publicized in the revolutionary Marxist People’s World — to “energize an army of tens of thousands who will return to their neighborhoods, churches, schools and voting booths to prevent a Republican takeover of Congress in November and begin building a new permanent coalition to fight for a progressive agenda.”
Take those as literal fighting words. The bloody consequences of compulsory unionism cannot be ignored.

Not just whomever is elected. Think of the violence that erupted when the Rodney King police trial ended with acquittals. Remember the violence when MLK, a man that based his entire movement on peaceful resistance, and judging a man by the color of his character rather than the color of his skin, was murdered in Memphis. Once we throw “their” President out on his ass, violence will hit the streets all across America.
He’s going to lose, and America is in for a troubled fall of 2012. And possibly into the Winter.
It’s already happening in Wisconsin (state Fair goers), and Philadelphia and convenience stores in numerous cities.

O/T sorta, but it appears that Reid, with McConnel’s help (either knowingly or as a pawn) has forced the R Senators to be close by for tonights speech. What has occured is McConnel McConnell introduced the resolution measure to disapprove a $500 billion increase in the debt limit yesterday and Harry Reid has conviently scheduled the vote for immediately after the speech.
If you ask me McConnel needs to go.

I talk to union-types all the time. The common themes is that they believe the world’s problems are caused by the greedy fat-cats and CEO’s that steal all of their hard earned money and won’t share a dime of it.
Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid. Many of these union workers would not even begin to listen to reason. They believe they are or would be treated like slaves without people like Trumka and the unions.
Little do they know, they are treated as pawns in the money and power grabbing game that Trumka and his kind are playing.

I have union members in my family. One is a hard working proud third generation electrician, and he is a good man. But I avoid any talk of union, and union abuse with him, because to these people the union is religion. I worked for UPS in 1981 in Long Island while going to Law School, night part time manager, wonderful 2AM-9AM shift. Teamster’s were in the house. One night a package fell off the conveyor belt and I went to pick it up. This little scrawny bastard got right in my face and said: “get your f***ing hands off that. That’s union work.” Many of the union workers taunted us about them making TRIPLE time on certain holidays, while we got our regular pay. Many of them were routinely SOB’s to all management, knowing that they, the inmates, ran the asylum. I dont think you could fire one of these people unless he killed somebody in front of you.
Some union Joe’s are OK, even when I workd at UPS, there were some decent people there. But I find most of them to be primadonna’s who have gotten fat and spoiled, and have forgotten what doing a day’s work for a day’s pay is all about.
Yes we know. And if the LSM weren’t his defenders and supporters of all causes left-leaning, it would have exposed his ideology and background before he got through the 2008 primaries.

Depends on why he killed the union member. Once, at UPS, a union officer was coming to talk to the union troops. I heard one guy say: “***k him. I aint got time for this”. An instant later the union foreman punched this guy square in his face, putting him down and bloodied. He said “dont you EVER disrespect your union again”. Union “justice” was done. The guy was helped up, took his beating, and shut his mouth. Was anybody fired, suspended, even reprimanded?? Not a chance. It never happened…officially speaking that is. This is how these creeps operate.

I have had the unfortunate experience to have been in companies that were failing and militay units that were poorly led and falling on their rears.
When it was obvious things had gone to hell in a handbasket and we were in a death spiral, the leaders who got us to that point tried vainly to rally us.
When they did they all sounded just like Obama did tonight. What was on display tonight was not Presidential leadership. It was desperation and panic articulated by someone clearly not up to the task.

This is an over the top assertion. It is made because she sat with Trumka? Does Mrs. Obama know the details of Mr. Trumka’s history? Establish a conection to Mrs. Obama’s knowledge of everything Mr. Trumka has done, and then there might be cause to take her task, be snarky, or suggest that she might be something she is, or is not.
Speaking of Mrs. Obama in this manner is akin to that New Yorker cover showing her as some sort of Angela Davis radical.

It would be totally unnecessary if you could furnish some facts about these Marxists’ history,past associations, accomplishments, and evidence of their true beliefs.You criticize critic’s doubts and impressions while hiding everything about these folks.GWB was scrutinized and hounded for every thing he did during his entire lifetime.We learned every grade, transcript,his blood pressure the hour and date he reported for military duty etc.and he came out completely authentic. Show us some of these peoples grades, passport and travel records,scholarships earned,law degrees(Why have they both lost their law licenses?), who were their clients,friends,associates,students,finances, etc. If some of these facts are revealed and they are truly who they want us to believe they are, I for one, will apologose for my doubts and never raise the issues again. During the last national teamsters strike against UPS I made the mistake of ‘visiting’ the strike zone in front of the UPS locally. I was told by a trusted relative at the time, to go home. He was a striking teamster and told me there were guns involved.. “go home”.
Naive I guess, I was shocked by this… I now realize this kind of “Hoffa” style brutality is not unusual..akin to “Chicago style” politics.

I have no idea that Pres Obama knew of Ayres and Dohrn’s activities when they hosted him in thier home. Do you know what Pres Obama knew about Ayres’ and Dohrn’s history and when he knew it?
Haven’t read Obama’s books and I am unwlling to make any assertion that there was a ghost writer. What proof do you have to make the assetion that Ayres wrote for Obama? Hmmm, you used the caveat ‘probably’. You aren’t even sure of your own assertion.
Can you be sure that Ayres volunteered that he was a member of the weather underground? That he told Obama he was responsible for bombings an mayhem? That Dorh did the same thing?
