Obama Will Announce He’s Sending ‘Jobs’ Legislation to Congress

The “plan” now has a name, and it isn’t “stimulus” or the “No, seriously, this time it’s gonna work” bill.
From ABC News:
This evening, President Obama will do more than call for job creation, he will announce he is sending legislation to Congress for quick action.
“The president will unveil tonight The American Jobs Act, a plan of bipartisan ideas to create jobs right now and is fully paid for,” Communications director Dan Pfeiffer told ABC News.
The final price tag is still being calculated but it could reach $400 billion, paid for by savings elsewhere in government.
And it is crafted to appeal to Republicans who have control of the House, where all money bills must begin their legislative track.
The catch is that “still being calculated” part. In a couple of days the total jumped from $300 billion to $400 billion?
If you can’t or won’t watch tonight’s speech announcing the “American Recover and Reinvestment Jobs Act,” here is the speech, and subsequent Democrat promotion of the plan, in a nutshell, courtesy of the NRSC:
Update: Jay Carney reiterates that the plan is “fully paid for.” Can’t wait to hear how that one’s explained.

Truth, like sunshine in a dark room, is hard to hide.
Actually, the reason for Barky to speak before a joint session is to tell them Congress has been an impedement to his agenda, and of late has been somewhat irrelevent and no longer useful, so he’s just going to abolish Congress by Executive Order.
Why does zero have to send anything to congress? I thought he was our ruler. My guess is he wants to be able to blame congress when it doesn’t work (again).

Gosh, I’m all atwitter, aren’t you? The president doesn’t create legislation, he suggests ideas for legislation. The government does not create jobs, it destroys them…but, this president breaks the mold.
The first president, touted as a Genius, who turns out to be a fraud, a nincompoop, a liar, and totally incompetent…unable to speak coherently without using a teleprompter.

There is NO OTHER reason for him to address Congress in person than to point his finger, probably the middle one, at the Tea Party congressfolks and blame them for everything, including global warming, the ice age, and the size of Micelle’s arse. Yup, it’s all an act, alright.

He must have watched “The American President“. It was on a few nights ago.
He may indeed know we are on to him. He does not care. We are the fools not he. He is the man with the plan. The plan will proceed with or without anyone’s but his own approval. To assuage his ego he must publically lash out, again, at those that “don’t get it” – He won. He is in charge. It’s our fault that we are screwing up his gig. He ain’t havin’ any of that.
Oh, and he dares us to just try to stop him. Yeah just try it.
We have the first president who actually believes his own press clippings and rhetoric. He is addicted to the fame.

MO Needs Another Vacation Jobs Act
Here is how he will pay for it. He will simply announce that his original plan called for $800b of investment, but to appease Republicans he cut it in half and will take the savings from those spending cuts to pay for the $400b in his plan. Seems like normal Washington logic to me.
I have an idea: how about we “pay” for it first — cut $400B of waste out of government — and after we see that happen, THEN we talk about spending more. Or not.
That is a lot of zeros. Maybe he is going to put the final nail in our coffin and sign the USA over to China. That is where we are headed anyway, isn’t it?
“Fully paid for” means not having to borrow to pay for it. It does not mean spending borrowed money on something else or spending less borrowed money.
Translation:
-unspecified elimination of “waste, fraud and abuse” in other programs
-starting in the year 2021
-subject to approval by a new commission

Maybe Joe Wilson could make it a two way conversation again. Maybe yell out that Obama wants to hang white people from a tree.
One look no further than the People’s Republic of Hawaii to find the lesson of too much unionism.
Hawaii leads the nation in percentage of workers that are union. This is one of the reasons that it took longer to repair a two-lane bridge on Kamehameha Highway near the Naval base than it did to build a second Tacoma Narrows bridge in Washington State.
It also leads the nation in ratio of state and city workers to population.
It’s two largest sources of revenue are the U.S. Military and tourism.
Barry is de-funding the Military. And people are not having the spare cash to come here.
Incidently, the number of Chinese tourists in the state is rising dramatically.

As usual, he will offer pie in the sky measures to all the free loaders and his supporters in the Country and blame Republicans if they don’t deliver. It matters not that it isn’t his money and that we don’t want him to have any more of our money to play with. Will his plan work? What plan? This wasn’t much of a plan – it was a wish list that will magically “be paid for.” Protecting collective bargaining by unions was a dead giveaway the direction this “plan” will ultimately take.
But kudos for Obama not directly blaming GW Bush for his mess (this time) or taking a cheap swing at the Supreme Court (this time).

This ‘I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today’ crap is too far beyond reality. Anyone in their right mind knows a sitting Congress can’t obligate a future Congress for future spending or cuts. Let’s cut the crap and stop the ‘baffle ‘em with bullsh!t’ games.
This baseline budget garbage needs to be sent to the dustbin of history too. Built in spending increases, indeed!
That worked quite well for Chavez and unfortunately, our military is otherwise occupied in foreign lands to quell a coup de grâce here.
They are surveying their newly acquired real estate and all the trappings that come with it. Hawaii is second on the list after Taiwan. They’ve already bought Hawaii just don’t be surprised when the eviction notice comes in the mail.
At least, Taiwan won’t do down without a fight.
With reference to the sign pictured on top of this column- How many of you are sick of these signs STILL up at various (union) construction projects around the country. There are some around here that have been up for two years now, but I don’t see any real progress. Plus, from local reporting, these road projects were on the books before Porkulus, so why do they get credit for it? Finally, the sign basically tells you three times that this was a porkulus project, as if we are too stupid to realize it if they only mention it once. I think the only job created was the sign maker, but he is probably laid off now as well, based on the success of Obama in “creating or saving” jobs.
