President Rerun schedules another Rose Garden finger-wagging session

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 12, 2011 04:55 AM

Time for President Obama to wake up and look like he’s doing something about jobs again!

Today, he’ll take to the Rose Garden with “teachers, police officers, firefighters, construction workers, small business owners and veterans” — read Big Labor supporters with a few non-union tokens tossed in — as he wags his finger again at Capitol Hill to pass the jobs bill.

Which, er, he’ll finally get around to sending to Capitol Hill later tonight.

President Rerun will be quite busy this week, rehashing his warmed-over porkulus plan across the country.

President Obama will again press Congress to pass his American Jobs Act during a Rose Garden event on Monday morning.

A White House official said that the president will send his legislation to Capitol Hill on Monday evening when Congress comes back in session.

Obama has begun a full-on campaign to rally the public behind his plan in an effort to both spur the economy and put Republicans on defense.

On Friday, after unveiling his plan to a joint session of Congress Thursday night, Obama traveled to Richmond, Va. to sell his plan.

The president is scheduled to continue his road show this week with trips to Ohio and North Carolina.

Bad news for taxpayers. Every time he reintroduces his recycled jobs proposals, the price tag gets higher. A few more times and the now-$450 billion plan will cost as much as the original failed porkulus.

Harp and change!

It’s Beltway Groundhog’s Day. Agggggghhhhhhhh:

Update: I just got this White House e-mail outlining how President Rerun and the taxpayer-funded Office of Public Engagement (everything you need to know about them here) are using the jobs road show to drum up the yoot vote:

Good Morning Everyone,

On Thursday President Obama unveiled the American Jobs Act, a set of ideas supported by both Democrats and Republicans that Congress must pass right away. Its design is simple: to put more people back to work and put more money in the pockets of working Americans.

To get more informed about President Obama’s plan you can get the facts about the American Jobs Act and check out the White House blog to find fact sheets, information about how the Act will support young Americans, and how you can make a difference in putting America back to work. On the blog you can also find the schedule for White House “Office Hours” on Twitter, where you can ask real-time questions to senior staff. And look bipartisan smiling!

This Sunday, the nation will mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. I vividly remember waking up to the news in my freshman dorm room at Arizona State and the thoughts and feelings I had that day. President Obama asks Americans to remember the lives of those lost and honor those who serve our country today by engaging in service this weekend. The Office of Public Engagement staff will recognize the President’s call to serve by participating in a group service project this weekend and we encourage you to do the same. Send us pictures to be highlighted on our website of your 9/11 service activity as we honor this day of rememberence. And with that, I give you the weekly update.

Call of the Week

Today, young Americans from across the country joined me and Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement Greg Nelson on a national conference call to discuss how the American Jobs Act will increase employment opportunities for young Americans. Greg and I fielded questions on patent reform, how the plan tackles structural unemployment, and what kinds of opportunities young entrepreneurs will have out of college and beyond.

For the Win

This week’s “For The Win” spotlight is on 17-year-old Jacob Bernstein. Jacob has written a poignant reflection on how the tragedy of 9/11 inspired him to unite his community through service.

Feedback Forum

Many of you have asked to for tips on how to get more involved. Well, here is your shot. The American Jobs Act will create new opportunities for citizens across the country to prosper, but we need your help to spread the word. We all have people in our lives that are struggling to find work and are desperately seeking opportunities to provide for their family. Let’s get teachers back into the classrooms, police and firefighters back to protecting our neighborhoods, and fight to give our veterans employment opportunities after they’ve fought so bravely for us. Write about it in your local newspaper, in your school newspaper, on your blog, on Twitter, on Facebook, everywhere. Please send us what you post!

Week Ahead

We have an exciting week coming up. On Tuesday, September 13th I will be hosting a web chat with a chief economist from the National Economic Council to answer your questions about the immediate benefits the American Jobs Act will have on young people. I will also be hosting our second round of Regional Campus Engagement Calls. If you have never recieved and invite to one of these call and would like to, let me know.

Here is the schedule for the Campus Engagement Calls next week:

Southwest Campus Call- Monday, September 12th at 6:00pm EDT
Midwest Campus Call- Tuesday, September 13th 6:00pm EDT
South Campus Call- Wednesday, September 14th 5:00pm EDT
West Campus Call- Thursday, September 15th 8:00pm EDT
Northeast Campus Call- Friday, September 16th 5:00pm EDT

This weekend is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices that millions of Americans have made for this country. It is also a time to celebrate how far we have come and the work that remains to build up our nation and win the future for our generation and the generations to come.

I look forward to hearing your stories. Have a great weekend, see you next week.

Sincerely,

R.Cho

Excuse me? Did I miss something here? I never learned in any of my econ classes that employees from the public sector created wealth for the government. They are paid out of TAX dollars, are they not?

How many jobs do YOU think that a teacher, a police officer, a construction (read “union”) worker, or returning service veteran create in a week…month…year…decade…century…since 1776? Exactly! They receive payment for “services rendered” from government entities, NOT from clientele, NOR customers.

And, taxation? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that widening a base of taxpayers will bring in more tax dollars that raising taxes on a small percentage of the population.

For example, let’s take 100 citizens, 3% of whom account for 75% of the federal income tax receipts, 47% pay the remaining 25% of the federal income tax receipts, and the remaining 51% of wafe earners pay 0 dollars in federal income tax.

Raise the tax rate for that 3% at the top, who make, let’s say $10,000,000/yr., from 36% to 70% and the gov’t will receive $21,000,000 in income tax. But let’s say we opt to have that 51% of wage earners who earn an average of $45,000/yr., yet pay no federal income tax, start paying income taxes at only 10%. This group, who previously paid ZERO in taxes, will now contribute a whopping $10,327,5000,000!

That’s a hard decision to make, isn’t it? $21,000,000 or $10,327,500,000…yeah, the latter is ONLY $10,306,500,000 more! And, 51% of the work force is finally paying a share…not a “fair share,” but a share of the tax burden.

Keep in mind, I only figured for 100 citizens, not all of them.

This fool is either clueless or he intentionally and systematically is ruining our economy. Under the guise of insanity, repeating the same ineffective behavior over and over again, I believe it’s the latter. Considering his policies to date, he has engaged in a huge scheme to redistribute wealth in this country, running up huge debts that we and our progeny will be required to repay in the future. Now is the time for our Representatives to show leadership and put an end to this immediately by letting the bill die in the House.

I’ll grant you that Barky probably is a fool, as there is no substantial or hard evidence to prove otherwise. However, make no mistake, those behind his throne pulling his strings are far from being fools, and ruining our economy is part of their plan.

In his debt ceiling speech on July 25, Obama said,

Understand –- raising the debt ceiling does not allow Congress to spend more money. It simply gives our country the ability to pay the bills that Congress has already racked up.

He has a complete disconnect between the bills that Congress racks up and the proposals that he continues to send to Congress. This time, it’s another $450B+ that he wants to rack up.

Dems used to be branded as “tax and spend”. Now, they’ve switched it up. They spend our money, then ask for taxes to pay for it.

R’s need to start trumpeting the label of “Spend and Tax Democrats”.

And to the fullest extent possible.

    They’ve earned it.

I wanted a little more information on this “jobs act”. So I googled and found the information on the White House site. Curious I followed links within to see how to comment or ask a question. What did I find? You have to go through a black news media outlet to do anything. There is absolutely no evidence of multicultural efforts.

Then I looked at the act. Tax breaks are present, but they involved the payroll taxes. Now if I am not mistaken, this is medicare and SSI. I thought we had a problem funding these programs?

Am I alone in not understanding what is going on and how this nut is helping anything???

A select number of working Americans are designated as contributors and another select number of working, and many non-working, Americans are designated as recipients, in this wonderful redistribution scheme, just to make it equal, don’t you know.

WOT but I was just listening to Hannity on my way home and heard the two most ridiculous statements.

Hannity: “I am the quintessential undecided voter, anybody but Obama.”

Dick Morris (paraphrase): “Even the Tea Party people are backing off of their principles knowing how important it is to defeat Obama.”

No Sean, you are the quintessential “party over principles” Republican (not conservative, REPUBLICAN… you know, the guys who HAVE no principles?).

No Dick-head, most of us Tea Party activists have no intention of voting for a liberal Demcorat, especially if they run as Republicans.

This is EXACTLY why we keep getting bigger and bigger government. Idiots like Hannity and Morris (yet another ex-Democrat forcing the Democratic agenda onto the GOP ticket) who absolutely positively will NEVER fight for principles. Automatic Republican voters (sure Hannity, when was the last time you voted for a Conservative party candidate? When did you ever vote for the Democrat when he was more conservative than the Republican?).

I’ve had it with Hannity and his career of paving the road to hell with his good intentions. I have never in my life felt more anti-Republican than I do today. And I was a Democrat in the 1970s.

I used to complain about all Obama’s golfing, but now I hope he spends every day from now on playing golf. Every time he gets near the White House, it just brings more bad news. Higher taxes, stiffer CAFE standard changes (let’s all drive plastic roller skates with air bags), more end-runs around the immigration system. Obama, just stay away from Washington, you’ll break something.
