Attaaaaack Waaaaaaatch; Update: The laughter continues

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 14, 2011 12:15 PM

This is simply brilliant.

Ezra Dulis and Misfit Politics with Brandon Morse cranked out a quick, hilarious rejoinder to Obama’s 4th Brigade of Snitch.

Humor is always the best revenge.

Watch Attaaaaack Waaaaaatch. YouTube gold:

The Obama 4th BoS will never live this down.

More Attaaaack Waaaaatch fail via The Hill:

A new Twitter hashtag designed to help fight misinformation against President Obama appears to have backfired in early use on Wednesday.

…The hashtag was already in heavy rotation by Twitter users by Wednesday morning, but many users are conservatives such as columnist Michelle Malkin, who offered up her own daily column as an example of an Obama “attack.”

The website is meant to be “the first line of defense against a barrage of misinformation,” according to an email from Obama’s campaign manager announcing the launch on Tuesday.

More on Obama’s laaaaaaughingstock:

Obama for America national field director Jeremy Bird told ABC News that the site’s goal is to offer “resources to fight back” against attacks. Mostly, that means fact checking statements from the likes of GOP presidential contenders Mitt Romney and Rick Perry and conservative commentator Glenn Beck and offering evidence to the contrary. The site is designed in bold red and black colors, and uses statements like “support the truth” and “fight the smears.”

The response to the site has been less than stellar.

On Twitter, where the Web site has an account to help Obama supporters submit evidence of “attacks” on the president using the hashtag #attackwatch, nearly every tweet about the site has ridiculed it.

“There’s a new Twitter account making President Obama look like a creepy, authoritarian nutjob,” an Arizonan tweeted. “In less than 24 hours, Attack Watch has become the biggest campaign joke in modern history,” a contributor to conservative blog The Right Sphere wrote.

Commenter Fuzzy: “Notice how WAPO’s article on this, “Attack Watch, new Obama campaign site to ‘fight smears,’ becomes laughing stock of the Internet” is NOW called “Attack Watch, new Obama campaign site to ‘fight smears,” becomes laughing stock OF CONSERVATIVES”? Gee, I wonder what happened there? Luckily, we all have the original title screen grabbed, tweeted, and/or in our readers.”

Update: Readers and friends are sending their Attack Watch poster designs. Obama can finally claim success — the Hilarity Stimulus is working!

Attack Watch is virtually already over before it even started. Drudge is running a WaPo blog post from Elizabeth Flock saying it instantly became a laughing stock of conservatives.

Unsurprisingly, ZERO mention of any of it on HuffPo, (I’ve been hanging out there lately…).

You just go out to the site and register. Then just a matter of turning in your neighbors to the regime in the same manner that then little George Soros did to his innocent Jewish neighbors.

I would imagine if you turn in a 100 of us, you may earn enough points for your own iPhone. Use it with pride.

I got my email invite to join Attackwatch, so I sent a response:

Thank you for this forum to dispel rumors about the president. I have been troubled by a number of statements that have never been refuted, and it is getting harder to discuss these with uninformed voters without proof. So in the interest of refuting the smears, please provide the documentation to refute these “rumors”
    • Obama never attended or graduated from Occidental
    • Obama never attended or graduated from Harvard
    • Obama received financial aid as a foreign student
    • Obama traveled to Indonesia on a foreign (UK) passport
    • Obama has a low IQ
    • Obama’s Social Security Number is actually from the state of Connecticut
It will be really easy to shut up the other side if you just release the documentation to refute these allegations. Please do not wait like you did with your birth certificate, it just fuels the fire.

I received a nice thank you and request to send money, but I am not holding my breath that they actually address the items listed.

we wouldn’t have had 4 more years of Bush.

Great, so that means that we would have cut and run from Iraq, the place would have descended into mass mutual genocide, and al-Qaeda would have had a brand-spankin’ new base right in the heart of the Middle East from which to spread the jihad wave.

OK, back to the subject: it’s certainly possible for any public figure to defend himself from “smears”, especially one as adored by the MSM as Obama, without creating a Stasi-lite.

This attackwatch.com is so embarrassing, and I mean for the country, you have it wonder if perhaps that was the point. Probably not, but still. Even Bush at his lamest wasn’t that bad.

I was trying to come up with something equally crazy and the best I could come up with was this: recall the “Mission Accomplished” banner that Bush/Rove did? Imagine that they had also launched a website with it, appealing to the citizenry to report anyone who had doubts about whether in fact the mission had truly been accomplished. There would be names and rebuttals and that sort of thing.

Conservatives & Republicans would still be enduring taunts about it. How could Obama, supposedly a political genius, be so obtuse?
