Waxman: Jews Trending Republican Because They Want to Protect Their Wealth

I’m of Irish descent, so Henry Waxman probably thinks I started voting Republican because the GOP was offering free whiskey — just as he believes Jewish voters are trending right to keep their money:
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), a prominent Jewish congressman, said the Jewish vote is a concern for his party.
“I think Jewish voters will be Democratic and be for Obama in 2012, especially if you get a Republican candidate like [Texas] Gov. [Rick] Perry,” he said. “But there’s no question the Jewish community is much more bipartisan than it has been in previous years. There are Jews who are trending toward the Republican Party, some of it because of their misunderstanding of Obama’s policies in the Middle East, and some of it, quite frankly, for economic reasons. They feel they want to protect their wealth, which is why a lot of well-off voters vote for Republicans.”
Maybe they’re trending away from the Democrats for the same reason lots of other people are: Because the last few years have been a disaster.
As for Waxman’s strategy, I don’t know how effective calling Jewish voters dumb and greedy will be in bringing them back into the Democrat fold, but we’ll find out next November.

Republicans support Israel, Taiwan, and the American people–Not Hamas, China, Iran and don’t bow to their leaders or negotiate without preconditions. Waxman is a blowhole-STFU.

Ah the greedy jew meme, an oldy but a goody. Been around for several hundred years, and cost 6 million jews their lives in the 40′s. The jews are the bankers, and the banks cause the financial collapse, so let’s blame this mess on jews. So progressive! This debacle we find ourselves in was caused by government with agendas instead of equality. Fannie and Freddie were created to give the poor a break in home buying. Great intent, poor execution which led to this mess. Easy loans to our poor black and hispanic constituents. Yeah, but the taxpayer and the responsible homebuyers wind up with the bill for this gubmint agenda. Stimulate car sales, especially green car sales, stimulate green energy, stimulate government workers, stimulate unions, stimulate grandma and grandpa on medicare/medicaid/social security. Someone pays for all this constituent largess, and it always is the taxpayer. But now that half the people pay no income tax, that half cares nothing about the problems, until it effects their benefits.

Oh, I think he’s in some hot water with them by trying to control who they admit and keep in their tribe.
The leader of the Navajo tribe, the nation’s largest, along with some Natives in South Dakota, were blasting Obama over his health care plan.
I’m not sure though how much of the Jewish vote Obama himself will lose. There’s a lot of Jews in this country who seem content to sell Isreal down the river so they, like many other religious folks, can look good in front of other liberals and get a check in the mail.
I like FOX NEWS, but they jumped the gun much too quick on Obama’s Isreal rhetoric and made it sound like 90% of Jews were ready to go GOP.
It’s no coincidence that many of these folks vote for pension benefits up the whazoo in Northeast cities and then run to Florida where they still get their pension but avoid all the local taxes they voted for.
Personally, I hope Waxman keeps up his rhetoric. California is now in play for the GOP in 2012 and it’s going to force the unions and the DNC to waste their resources on a normally safe state.

How long must we suffer these fools? Henry Whackjob has been in Congress for how long? His comments smack of racism against jewish citizens. Had this been a conservative, all hell would have broken loose. Just like the “jews”, I’m trying to hold on to the money I’ve earned.

I once asked Ron Kuby on the air (WABC NY) if he ever apologized to blacks for being white. Believe it or not he stumbled for an answer until Curtis Sliwa (co-host) stepped in. I never got an answer from Kuby. So yes, I can believe there are environmentalist who wish they were born animals. I would only ask that they be born skunks, an animal most fitting for liberal wacko environmentalist since only skunks like skunks.

If you`d had skunks take up in your basement (twice) and stink up the whole house AND upon calling Animal Control Services only to learn that there is no number in my county to call to get anyone to deal with pest skunks “unless” they are rabid, you`d hate skunks as much as I do !

Protecting your wealth … Is there a problem with that??
I take issue with the statement:
It isn’t the “wealthy” that comprise the TEA party. If that were the case, Buffet, Kennedy, Gates, Kerry and others like them would be Republicans at minimum, and TEA party fanatics at best. The wealthy have theirs, and don’t pay INCOME TAXES, since they generally don’t make an income- they have investments. They have a vested interest in the government tax code, since it provides them with the loopholes to hide their wealth, and the bailout if their investments go south. So they pay lobbiest to influence policy and tax attorneys to minimize their liabilities. Instead, the people I see at TEA parties are workers that make a taxable income (of any size) that just don’t want the government to take too much of it. None of them expect a tax rate of zero, but they don’t want a rate of 90% either. Even my son disparaged the TEA party until he got a job and now complains about how much taxes he pays- welcome to the dark side son.
This reminds me – saw recently we have boots on the ground in Libya. Has that been in the news? I’m sure it’s OK, Obama wouldn’t do anything we didn’t like would he?
Amazing, the mentality of people like Waxman who is supported in his views by how many millions of people? Kind of like those 45% of people that approve of Obama and think he should be reelected.

So tell us please who really deserves our money? …liberals want to spread the wealth to those who “really deserves it”….so who exactly are they? It can’t be the poor because in all these years you have been taking the money the only increase the poor have gotten is in their numbers
I am not so happy with our Jewish friends who might be temporarily swayed to be less than overwhelmingly Democrat because, SPECIFICALLY, they are concerned with wealth retention, concerned about Israel, or concerned that gay marriage that offends the Orthodox.
I agree with all of these worthy sentiments. But I have lost my shyness about saying what I feel in my heart about a demographic that overwhelmingly votes for open borders, internationalism, and basically feels comfortable only where the values of NYC/Chicago/LA prevail and despises and ridicules red state America. No, after all their years at the very core of American Leftism, I am not particularly thrilled that there are a few issues of the moment driving them to the right.
