Tom Harkin: Get Arrested to Save Medicaid
**Written by Doug Powers
At a rally in DC yesterday, Sen. Tom Harkin said this concerning Medicaid: “We need some of you probably getting arrested for doing things you shouldn’t be doing.” Oh come on, Senator, only so many people can serve in Congress at any one time.
Harkin never did say if the purpose of getting arrested would be to somehow make a point about Medicaid or to get health care in jail, but maybe he was “walking the talk” by trying to get himself arrested for subornation.
Harkin also said “we need you to exercise your constitutional right to petition your government.” And if that doesn’t work, break the law:

Democrats have been very good examples to follow in that regard. They often don’t let inconvenient laws get in their way.
I almost knew without looking harkin was a d! Do you have to have a lack of o2 to the brain to be a d?
L
Dude,
Speechmaking 101, Chapter 1 says…
Do not drink alcoholic beverages prior to your speech
Incoherent thought = sheer nonsense
Ya looked and sounded like a fool, dude.
Iowa’s Biggest Embarassment; Tom Harkin
And yes, I am qualified to say that.
Save Medicare. Axe Medicaid.
“Hello, my name is Tom Harkin, and I am a graduate of the Al Sharpton School of Broadcasting.”
And it matters to AARP.
Harkin followed by Bernie Sanders? Talking about dying children? You know where this is going.
The usual **stuff** from the socialists.
old hippies Like I assume this putz is will never ever forget their “glory days” demonstrating in smelly sit-ins at their posh colleges and running around causes general mayhem whil eon acid…… those days when they may actually have gotten — dare i say it — LAID! eew… sorry y’all;)
LOL. Really. I confessed to my theater director after a play I was in that I had a “few glasses” of wine prior. She replied “Well, no wonder! I could tell!” Me sawwee mommy…
…And you would be quite right.
It does make you wonder what he was talking about. That could be anything from “civil disobedience” to voter fraud.
Medicaid was supposed to be a stopgap help to the indigent. You can see that that mission has morphed.
So, when you get arrested to save Medicare, you can send the bail request and your lawyer bills to Tom Harkin. I’m sure he’ll gladly pay for them.
Tom Harkin is an Idiot!
Defecating in public? “Man I just couldn’t hold it anymore!”
Isn’t there a law on the books about encouraging people to commit crimes?
It’s going to take generations, if ever, to root out this knuckle-dragging entitlement mentality, especially when it is being actively exploited by politicians. If you truly need help, you can get it. But most taxpayers are not in the mind to go to work every day to supply the needs and wants of millions of ne’er-do-wells and grifters.
Well that occurs nearly everytime a Dem or RINO opens their mouth in public.
When did Democrats ever let that get in their way?
I know there’s quite a few folks from Iowa and Minnesota on here.
Suppose we can dump Harkin in 2014?
And maybe get Levin and Franken out as well?
okaaaaay.
If that’s number 1, then
2. move next door to a state trooper to cook meth.
Was he a union shop steward before becoming a senator? The mentality is the same.
Whad did Iowans do? Elect Harkin to the Senate to keep him out of Iowa as much as possible?
Lead by example, Tommy m’boy.
Ah yes, Mr phony war hero who lied about his wartime Service now wants others to get arrested. This guy is an oversized scum bag.
Well said, and already evident by all the corporations “going Galt”, not hiring, not expanding, just in a holding pattern. Now, the American taxpayers have to follow the leader and starve the BEAST!
Tom Harkin- CPUSA, Iowa said:
“constitutional right”
Every time I hear one of these leftist d-bags talk about The Constitution, I have to laugh.
About Franken…he is very adept at stealing elections, so I’m not sure how to get rid of him. I am surprised, however that we haven’t heard much from him since arriving in the Senate. He has a notoriously vile temper and is also a clown (unfunny). But he has managed to rein it in, or else his cronies are covering for him!
Yes yes, of course. The Left certainly does take solemnly abiding by the Constitution most seriously.
Franken’s backers in the Minn Dem Party apparatus were most certainly adept. I have yet to see evidence that Franken, personally, is much adept at anything.
He obviously wasn’t wearing his glasses when he got the note from Soros. It said to NOT get arrested. Think of all the polling locations you can’t get to if you’re sitting in jail!
*With comments like those, I hope people understand we are in for some dark, dark days ahead; The progressives are stirring up their base, which includes union goons, and there will be violence; Conservatives, and conservatives in the GOP, need to stay above the fray, be at the ready to practice self defense, and prepare for the worst, as they will surely bring it!
*Like ALL government programs, Medicaid is heavily abused by the moocher class; When you basically give something away for free, like Tenncare here in Tennessee, the couch sitting, donut eating, Oprah watching layabout reprobates come out of the woodwork like mice out of a newly mowed hayfield!
Here is Al’s daily affirmation said each day on his way to the Senate.
I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me
After another worthless day, he goes home to his mirror and repeats 10 more times.
Reality for Al…he’s not good enough, he surely isn’t smart enough and he is genuinely hated across America.
Tom was probably having acid flashbacks
Not Franken, but the people who helped him are. They were the same ones who pulled it off during the 2004 WA ST Gubenatorial election. Not only was it the same people behind Franken as Gregoire, but the circumstances were way to similiar to be coincidental.
This includes making sure you have video evidence of the whole thing.
WTF? I’m just not into Harkin so I completely missed the message. All I know after looking at the video is… He’s gotta go.
Barky’s version:
I’m Soooo Good!, I’m Sooooo Smart!, I soooooo love me,myself,and I!!
Peope must adore me!
The entitlement mentality. My personnal experience.
I grew up in a working class home in the 50s and 60s. No Medicaid then and no foodstamps, Until 1966.
My parents wouldn’t have taken them if those were available, earlier on, and didn’t take them when they were. Their attitude was one of, we can provide for our kids. Pride in not taking handouts. Then it was called being on the dole.
The next generation, my brothers, sister, and cousins all moved into the middle class and some moved into the upper middle class. We studied hard and worked hard. We had good parents, but parents without money.
The thing the leftist have taken away from the lower economic classes is ambition, and replaced it with, if you can’t do it on your own don’t worry we have you covered. Bad idea, really bad.
It’s a simplistic look at the problem, for sure, alot more can be said. The feeling that I want something more than a hand to mouth existence is a real motivator,or I should say can be a real motivator.
As too Harkin, he’s a fool along with all his leftist buds that preach this trash.
you guys remind me of Homer, whilst burning his GED:
“I am so smart
I am so smart
S-M-R-T
I mean
s-m A-R-t!”
*Good point; And I am serious about the level of unrest; It is going to get ugly; Think Wisconsin on steroids; We must remain the adults, as even P-BO will continue his playground tactics!
*Liberty or tyranny folks, pick a side and let’s roll!!!
Think Longshoreman in WA ST.
I fear even worse. The economy plunges off the deep end and the havoc and disaster from the result of this WH admin policies will drive the nation to civil unrest the likes of which we have never seen in our lifetime.
The Democrat Party is really high on the politics of snitchery…I wonder why they haven’t offered rewards for people to snitch on Medicaid fraudsters?
Of course they aren’t really interested in”saving” Medicare. They are only interested in making it a perennial campaign issue.
The democratic party, IMO, has adopted the perennial attitude of being offended at the “social injustice” and “unfairness” of the conservative supported capitalistic system. They will forever harp on how the poor are mistreated by conservatives/GOP. It’s sick.
“We need some of you probably getting arrested for doing things you shouldn’t be doing.”
Promoting the breaking of laws; how is that not sedition?
Well, if anyone knows about getting arrested (cough) Chicago 1968 (cough), it’s little Tommy Harkin.
Hey, wasn’t he married to Hanoi Jane as well?
Regards,
Peter H.
That was Tom Hayden.
FirstSkirt: I can’t say enough about your belief. The only folks that treat the poor properly are conservatives. They are the ones who really help the poor. A job and a chance to get ahead is help. I don’t know who said it, but “a helping hand and not a handout”.
It is sick, what the “social justice” crowd or gang has done to the image of conservatives and GOP, and to add to it what they’ve done to the poor.
Hayden, Harkin – it’s hard to tell libtards apart.
I have the same problem with Chris Dodd and Bernie Sanders.
Regards,
Peter H.
You do get free healthcare in prison
I have trouble keeping these two sorted out:
Johnson or Clyburn …. which thought Guam might tip over if we send too many troops there ?
I get Maxine Waters and Shirley Jackson Lee mixed up too. They both say stupid things and are communists. Which one told the Tea Party to go to hell and which one is the star-struck moron who swoons whenever Obama comes into view?
Harkin should be aressted
This idiot at Rolling Stone thinks that WE want to start a civil war, an actual (with shooting) civil war.
It seems that (at least parts of) the leftist media are trying to advance that narrative. That’s how they operate: start something, then blame the right for it.
This HAS to be illegal!
All together now… What if Sarah Palin had said that at tea party?
Nope. Don’t want it at all. But……..I’m planning for it.
Save Medicare. Axe Obamacare.
