Tom Harkin: Get Arrested to Save Medicaid

By Doug Powers  •  September 22, 2011 02:32 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

At a rally in DC yesterday, Sen. Tom Harkin said this concerning Medicaid: “We need some of you probably getting arrested for doing things you shouldn’t be doing.” Oh come on, Senator, only so many people can serve in Congress at any one time.

Harkin never did say if the purpose of getting arrested would be to somehow make a point about Medicaid or to get health care in jail, but maybe he was “walking the talk” by trying to get himself arrested for subornation.

Harkin also said “we need you to exercise your constitutional right to petition your government.” And if that doesn’t work, break the law:

Democrats have been very good examples to follow in that regard. They often don’t let inconvenient laws get in their way.

About Franken…he is very adept at stealing elections, so I’m not sure how to get rid of him. I am surprised, however that we haven’t heard much from him since arriving in the Senate. He has a notoriously vile temper and is also a clown (unfunny). But he has managed to rein it in, or else his cronies are covering for him!

*Like ALL government programs, Medicaid is heavily abused by the moocher class; When you basically give something away for free, like Tenncare here in Tennessee, the couch sitting, donut eating, Oprah watching layabout reprobates come out of the woodwork like mice out of a newly mowed hayfield!

Not Franken, but the people who helped him are. They were the same ones who pulled it off during the 2004 WA ST Gubenatorial election. Not only was it the same people behind Franken as Gregoire, but the circumstances were way to similiar to be coincidental.

The entitlement mentality. My personnal experience.
I grew up in a working class home in the 50s and 60s. No Medicaid then and no foodstamps, Until 1966.
My parents wouldn’t have taken them if those were available, earlier on, and didn’t take them when they were. Their attitude was one of, we can provide for our kids. Pride in not taking handouts. Then it was called being on the dole.
The next generation, my brothers, sister, and cousins all moved into the middle class and some moved into the upper middle class. We studied hard and worked hard. We had good parents, but parents without money.
The thing the leftist have taken away from the lower economic classes is ambition, and replaced it with, if you can’t do it on your own don’t worry we have you covered. Bad idea, really bad.
It’s a simplistic look at the problem, for sure, alot more can be said. The feeling that I want something more than a hand to mouth existence is a real motivator,or I should say can be a real motivator.
As too Harkin, he’s a fool along with all his leftist buds that preach this trash.
