Introspective Obama: Hey, I’m not telling enough stories; Plus: “I’m all dinged up”
Double-digit unemployment. Disgruntled left flank. Rising grass-roots discontent. Economic egghead exodus. Gargantuan stimulus scandals. Bloody corruption.
Mired in failure, President Obama has once again figured out what his real problem is.
Saul Alinsky to the rescue!
Obama also said that when he reflects back on his tenure in the White House, he thinks his administration did not do a good job communicating what they were doing for the American people.
“I think that the more you’re in this office, the more you have to say to yourself that telling a story to the American people is just as important as the actual policies that you’re implementing,” he said.
He trotted out his one-trick narrative pony after the November 2010 midterm shellacking, too:
After a suffering a “shellacking” in the midterm elections, President Obama acknowledges what many have seen as his chief weakness – failing to sell the importance of several legislative milestones to the American people.
“I think that’s a fair argument. I think that, over the course of two years we were so busy and so focused on getting a bunch of stuff done that, we stopped paying attention to the fact that leadership isn’t just legislation. That it’s a matter of persuading people. And giving them confidence and bringing them together. And setting a tone,” Mr. Obama told 60 Minutes’ Steve Kroft in an exclusive interview set to air Sunday.
“Making an argument that people can understand,” Mr. Obama continued, “I think that we haven’t always been successful at that. And I take personal responsibility for that. And it’s something that I’ve got to examine carefully … as I go forward.”
So, gird your loins for more toxic plants and stage props, plus an expanding catalogue of progressive fables, as the Yarn-Spinner-in-Chief attempts to story-tell his way out of his economic and political morass.

This is descriptive of his entire current effort. I have long commented that Obama’s Achilles Heel is he is an ideolog; a true believer. He is not a politician like Bill Clinotn, whose motivation is to stay in office for staying in power’s sake.
Obama “mission” is fundamental transformation. He is not a politician as much as he is a crusader.
It is a trite analogy, but he is like the Doomsday Machine from the original Star Trek TV series. You can hit it, distract it, provoke it; whatever. It may turn towards you briefly, but as soon as it can, it reorients itself back to the original course.
Its course to its intended destination is relentless.
Why else when the green jobs initatives are blowing up in his face would he still be preaching green jobs, pushing for more loan approvals and promoting these ludicrous high speed rail dreams?
He is willing encased in his ideology. He is comfortable with it, believes in it, and will never abandon it. If you do not share his beliefs you are a heretic and thus an enemy.
I want to hear the birth story all the way through college days. That’s a story I never tire of hearing, because I’ve never really heard it.
I would rather bho get on the tube and tell us ALL about his and teams involvement in solyndra, F&F, and all other crooked stuff they have been doing. HOW many here thinks that would happen?

It’s working too… for instance, the Left has been trotting out a “Bush caused Solyandra” meme…. When a lib says Bush’s energy department got the ball rolling on Solyandra and is really just as much to blame as Bambi, what is the GOP response? crickets mostly…. It can never be satisfactory. Government deficit spending is by definition an illegal taxation on the American People because it is based on money not yet earned and therefore not yet available to be taxed.
My boss is a very successful old country boy who speaks and observes things in simple terms. “John, I know we have roads and bridges and such as that, that need to be fixed. But I want to know how they are going to pay for it. Everyone talks about spending money, they need to be talking about making money. If we aren’t making money there is no money for the government to spend. It’s real simple. They need sombody in there that understands that.”

How would you like to be in a foxhole with this guy?
Will OUR candidate who runs against him INSIST on seeing his college records? Will our candidate nail him to the wall on his years in Wright’s church? Will our candidate have the courage to keep on this subject throughout the campaign? No other POTUS has EVER been so secretive about his past. This must be exposed! If it isn’t, we have lost a golden opportunity to take this imposter down once and for all and show how awful he really is. I strongly suspect, if the truth gets out, that he is hiding this for a huge reason. This man who lied his way into the presidency of the United States did not graduate from any college or university because he either screwed up, or he never went at all. Last I heard, lying on an employment application is grounds for dismissal!

I suspect he never attended a single class while on campus of any college in which he was suposedly enrolled. He eased on through, his entire caricula and college career made up, abetted by his mentors who had crystal clear vision of what Barky could do for them.
In otherwords Obama is saying he needs to do a better job at lying to the American people.
Off topic…Apparently, the WH thinks it will be just fine for the Supreme Court to go ahead and hear the case regarding Obama”care”. This scares me. Why are they NOW so willing to let the SC hear this? They were stonewalling, NOW it’s o.k.? That means the decision will be made before the election. Why do they want that unless they have something up their sleeve? I don’t trust them and I’m truly scared they are going to make a move that will screw this country…BIG TIME! Do they plan to get rid of one of the centrist/conservative judges somehow? We have to watch this very very closely.

Obama: Call the EPA, they have “a few” regulations for you to read before you go fishing. We have to protect the environment, the supply of fish, the ramifications of eating too many fish, the number of calories in fish, how you clean, bone, and cook the fish, what days of the week you are authorized to go fishing, the type of boat you use so the impact on the shore line is minimized, the kind of lure you use…it must not be made of an endangered material, the conditions under which you prepare the fish…open fire, kitchen, etc.. There is more, but you can read it yourself. Be sure to have $1,000 for a license. The price went up because of the taxes needed to print the regulation booklets.

Obama’s Disquieting Heroic Fantasies
I have written before about Obama’s deep, almost desperate, need to portray himself as the opposite of what he is, to conceive of himself in a way that is at odds with reality. We have seen it in all sorts of areas, including claiming himself to be a voice of civility, portraying himself as a champion of bi-partisanship, lecturing others about profligate spending, and saying he is the only responsible “adult” in Washington. Now we see this habit in a new arena – this time, the president as Obama the Stoic, a man so committed to “pressing on” for the cause of social justice he just doesn’t have time to feel sorry for himself. Indeed, he has now decided to sermonize to others not to complain, not to grumble, and to “stop crying.”
This is akin to John Edwards hosting a weekend seminar on the importance of marital fidelity.
If there has been a president in my lifetime who has felt more sorry for himself – who has laid the blame for his failures on more people (George W. Bush, the Congressional GOP, the Tea Party, conservative talk radio hosts, millionaires and billionaires) and more things (ATMs, Japanese tsunamis, the Arab Spring, Fox News, Wall Street, et cetera) – I can’t think of who that might be. As the wheels on the Obama presidency come off, as his record of ineptness becomes more indisputable, Obama is becoming more intemperate, more aggrieved, more prickly, and more detached from reality.
What we are seeing is a president attempt to create, almost out of whole cloth, his own character, his own narrative, his own truth. That might work in an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel; it works less well in an American presidential campaign.
To watch a young child indulge in heroic fantasies of himself can be charming. To watch a president indulge in heroic fantasies of himself is disquieting.

Actually, we the people are all dinged up, not Obama. He’s teflon coated because of the smitten media and the people with whom he surrounds himself.
We have taken one Liberal hit after another from this administration, his bureaucrats and sycophants. That’s why there has been no economic recovery.
While he talks about his own vision for making things better, his bureaucracy keeps making things worse!
I believe he is deluded by his own ego, which gets fed every day, one way or another. He must be realizing though, that the numbers don’t lie. He is headed down hill and will surely lose in 2012. I think he’s getting panicky.
His only salvation is those people who will not vote, or will vote for a loser Third Party candidate, rather than the mainstream candidate who is not perfect in their eyes.
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of the possible.
