Iranian Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani faces execution for refusing to renounce Christianity: Where are the Hollyweirdos and Euroweenies now?; Update: White House statement; Britain, EU stand up

Over the years, I’ve highlighted the plight of Muslim apostates around the world.
See here, here, and here, for example.
One of the early blog campaigns I was involved in focused on Abdul Rahman, the Christian convert who fled Afghanistan in 2006 and found safety in Italy after Muslim mobs demanded he be killed for abandoning Islam.

A Christian on trial
To oppose the Koranic mandate of death for apostasy is to take on the entire sharia-enforcing Muslim world.
Which is why you never hear purported anti-death penalty bleeding-heart celebrities say a peep about it.
It takes no guts or brains for Hollywood liberals (hello, Alec Baldwin) and America-bashing Brit journalists (hello, U.K. Guardian editors) to bemoan the execution of a convicted Death Row cop-killer who was able to pursue every last legal avenue for more than two decades.
It tells you everything about their selective outrage that they have nothing to say about the latest impending execution in Iran of a Christian pastor:
Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, the head of a network of Christian house churches in Iran, could be executed as soon as midnight Wednesday in Tehran for refusing to recant his religious beliefs and convert to Islam, said the chair of a commission that monitors religious freedom around the world.
A statement by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, an independent advisory group appointed by the president and Congress, “expressed deep concern” for the man’s fate.
After four days of an appeals trial for apostasy, Nadarkhani refused to recant his beliefs.
Leonard Leo, chair of the commission, said the pastor “is being asked to recant a faith he has always had. Once again, the Iranian regime has demonstrated that it practices hypocritical barbarian practices.”
Leo said that while the trial is closed to the press, the commission collects information from sources in Iran and around the world. A release by the group says their responsibility is to “review the facts and circumstances of violations of religious freedom internationally.”
“I would be disappointed if at the end of this whole maelstrom, there was no statement by our government on this situation,” Leo said. “At some point the United States has to stand up for the right of this pastor and for human rights more broadly and call countries to account for what they are doing.”
The commission’s statement also called the trial a sham and said Iran is violating the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Iran is a party.
Take action here.
ACLJ has been helping with Pastor Nadarkhani’s defense. Support them here.

Alec Baldwin’s first reaction when I sent out a reader’s tweet wondering why he didn’t seem to care about the case. He mocked:

Minutes later…

It’s progress. Anything to spread word of the story helps.

*Facing Execution for the ‘Crime’ of Being a Christian In Iran:
In 2010, the Iranian regime carried out 546 executions, more than at any other time during the preceding decade, and representing an increase of around 25 per cent on the previous year. Increasingly, execution is becoming Tehran’s favored method for dealing with anyone it deems an opponent — like Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, an Iranian pastor who has refused to recant his Christian faith.
Pastor Nadarkhani’s case is another grim illustration of the volatile situation faced by religious minorities living under Iran’s Islamist clerics. Even though the state formally recognizes the existence of Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians, these minorities are under no illusions about their subordinate status.
Since 2009, when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stole Iran’s election to claim a further term as the country’s president, the crime of “moharebeh” — waging war against God — has frequently been invoked against those who question the Islamic legal codes which underpin the state.
Yousef Nadarkhani sentenced to die for changing his religion.
Yesterday it was reported that Yousef Nadarkhani faced the death penalty in Iran unless, on the fourth and final opportunity, he recanted his Christianity.
This seemed too incredible to be true. However, Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) speedily provided original judgments and unofficial English translations. And, on the basis of the translations, it was clear: a man was actually sentenced to hang just for converting from one religion to another.
CSW now report that Nadarkhani refused to recant on the fourth and final opportunity. If CSW and the source they are relying on are correct, this means that Nadarkhani can now be hanged unless the Court decides otherwise.
*In Algeria, distributing CDs about Christianity will get you five years in jail.
Evangelical conservatives are fighting for freedom and basic human rights around the world. Our main adversaries are often theocratic governments.
Christians, like Youcef Nadarkhani, a pastor in Iran sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic for his faith, are on the front line of the global fight for religious freedom. On September 25, a court in Iran is set to decide whether he is a convert from Islam to Christianity. If the court finds that Youcef is an apostate, he can be executed.
Pastor Nadarkhani’s Iranian lawyer Mohammad Ali Dadkhah, a Muslim, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison and banned from practicing law by the Iranian government, essentially for representing individuals such as Pastor Nadarkhani.
The ACLJ is working with Mr. Dadkhah, a well-known human rights attorney who founded the Defenders of Human Rights Center along with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi.
A conservative Christian legal organization and a Muslim human rights attorney are battling theocracy together. This isn’t new for the ACLJ. In Pakistan, our office works with brave attorneys, some of whom are Muslim, willing to defend persecuted Christians.

Flashback: Texas executes Mexican citizen despite pleas from Obama, UN
***
This morning, I asked Press Secretary Jay Carney if the White House would weigh in.
At 2pm Eastern, this statement was released from the press secretary’s office:
The United States condemns the conviction of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. Pastor Nadarkhani has done nothing more than maintain his devout faith, which is a universal right for all people. That the Iranian authorities would try to force him to renounce that faith violates the religious values they claim to defend, crosses all bounds of decency, and breaches Iran’s own international obligations. A decision to impose the death penalty would further demonstrate the Iranian authorities’ utter disregard for religious freedom, and highlight Iran’s continuing violation of the universal rights of its citizens. We call upon the Iranian authorities to release Pastor Nadarkhani, and demonstrate a commitment to basic, universal human rights, including freedom of religion.
Good for the White House. May every other civilized country’s officials raise their voices and do the same.

More on White House reax.
Still no statement from State Department, which pleaded to save the life of a convicted Mexican child rapist. But they did tweet about World Heart Day today…
***
Update: Britain and the EU add their voices.
“I deplore reports that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, an Iranian church leader, could be executed imminently after refusing an order by the Supreme Court of Iran to recant his faith,” Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website.
“This demonstrates the Iranian regime’s continued unwillingness to abide by its constitutional and international obligations to respect religious freedom,” the statement said. “I pay tribute to the courage shown by Pastor Nadarkhani who has no case to answer and call on the Iranian authorities to overturn his sentence.”
***
EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on Thursday joined calls for Iran to free a pastor facing the death sentence for refusing to renounce his Christian faith, AFP reported.
“I urge the Islamic Republic of Iran to respect its international human rights commitments, including on freedom of religion or belief, and strongly appeal to Iran not to sentence Pastor Nadarkhani to death,” Ashton said in a statement.
“I call for Mr Nadarkhani’s immediate and unconditional release.”

If he wants support from Hollywood liberals, all he needs to do is kill a cop. That seems to do the trick.
I heard that in Saudi Arabia they’re actually going to allow women to vote (in 4 years). The horror!!
And 2 Saudi women have been convicted of driving. OMG!!
Where is NOW on this????
(crickets chirp)
George? Matt? Sean? Susan? Alec? Danny? Janeane? Michael? Wyclef?
*crickets*
LOL JHSII–the crickets are loud today arent’t they?
I can’t even find it in myself to be snarky over this. Here’s hoping that he’s allowed to leave rather than be put to death.
Barack?
But the MSM would rather feature the murder trial of Dr. Murray for killing Michael Jackson, than this crime against humanity.
perhaps he should appeal to hollywood if he claimed to be a gay environmentalist, who believes in global warming?
Among the many agendas of my liberal colleagues to reinvent America is the agenda to strip Western Civilization form the influence of the Bible and the influence of Christianity.
One way of doing this is eliminating Christians.
As long as Islamists are seeking the same agenda the secular power mongers share a common enemy with the worshipers of Sharia.
The secular left is in fact colluding with Islamists to eradication the influence of Christianity.
So, no, I comes as no surprise to me that the secular liberal Hollyweirdos and Euroweenies turn a blind eye to this. The followers of Sharia are doing their dirty work for them.
Don’t expect Hollywood or this government to stick up for Christians or religious freedom when it involved Christians. Don’t expect a segment on MSNBC on this case either.
Had a friend in college from Iran. She was so excited to return to Iran after the revolution because of all the wonderful things that were going to happen. Sounds a lot like all the ‘hope and change’ people are hoping for with Pres. Obama.
Living in a fairy tale (Hollywood?)world–until it crashes on top of them.
How could this be? There is no religious compulsion in islam, CAIR said so.
We may not be at war with islam, but islam is a war with us. And like it or not, Christianity is fighting for it’s very existence.
How about we swap them one Christian for one muslim (I vote we start with Barack, Ellis, or Hooper). Iran would have fewer Christians, and we would have fewer muslims. Win Win.
I’m praying for this good man and his family.
No matter how often these people try to sell Islam as The Religion Of Peace, their true colors emerge at some point.
I can’t wait to see what ilovemycunnilingus has to say about this.
Hey walterc #12, I like the way you think !!
I also am praying for this good man and his family as well as all of Christianity. We have to stay strong !
If only Yousef’s name were Troy Davis, and his crime a cold-blooded murder of a police officer, rather than mere conversion from Islam to Christianity.
John 11:24-26
24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Philippians 1:20-21
20According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Whatever happens, he is in God’s Hands.
It would be interesting to see how they would react if it was Scientology, or one of the other “non-Christian” religions so popular in Hollywood was under attack this way and some like, say, John Trivolta or Tom Cruise was in prison about to be killed for believing in that. Of course it would be a different story entirely. They would be screaming at the top of their lungs. So, one religion is worth defending but another isn’t. Yes, that is their stand. Spit.
I have a question…the other day my husband said he believes that mooslums worship the same God we do. I said, no they don’t. We got into a big “discussion” about it. My question is…Do Christians believe that our Holy Book, The Bible was divinely inspired by God? Most of us do. If that is the case, and you believe mooslums worship that same God, then you have to believe that the Koran was also divinely inspired by that same God. Oh…really? Case closed.
I just posted this on the Bully Thread, but it is more appropriate there. Sorry for the duplication, but it applies to this issue.
On September 29th, 2011 at 10:10 am, happyscrapper said:
I just heard a story on FOX about this “teacher” in CA (I think) who heard a student say “God Bless You” to another student who sneezed. So the “teacher” imposed a ban on saying “Bless You” because it was “disruptive” to the class. Anyone who said it would be penalized 25 points on their grade. Folks, this is going on all over the country in our government-run schools!
Our First Amendment rights are UNDER ATTACK! And no one can tell me that our kids don’t have First Amendment rights. They don’t check their Constitutional rights as citizens at the door of their classroom.
If I was a parent of a student in that class, I would tell my child to be sure and say God Bless you to the teacher as they hand him an apple, every morning. Then sue the heck out of him if he violates my Constituional right to freedom of speech and freedom of religious expression which is GUARANTEED to all the citizens of this country!!
The teacher has since backtracked because of all the complaints, but he still says he will “choose a less harsh punishment”. Um…no! There should not be a punishment for expressing your opinions and your beliefs.
Thank GOD the parents are vigilant and the students spoke up. We need to make sure our kids know their rights in the classroom!
At least Alec Baldwin has provided the same link as Michelle posted (to email the Iranian embassy) in his Twitter account now.
Those awful Christians trying to push their Nativity scenes into our schools! There’s your real religious intolerance, not those poor innocent Moslems in Iran, just trying to protect themselves from the violent spread of Christianity… oh wait… nevermind…
May God bless and keep safe this brave man. Would that we all carried ourselves with such courage.
Happy, they will not be attacked. Satan is very happy with people believing those things. Christianity on the other hand is the only target to be concerned with.
Also, it is the foundation for the American system of government. Reason #2 to only attack it.
Is Alec waking up? The Troy Davis thing made me angry. This story of Sharia run amok may turn me into an activist. Next thing I do is share this story on FB.
If it were a muslim being put to death in the U.S. for not converting to Christianity, not just Iran, but the whole world would be at war with us over it. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy with the religion of pieces.
Sharia Law in Minnesota.
It’s happening everywhere.
Praying for Yousef that he be spared martyrdom. But YOUR will be done, Lord.
Don’t bother trying to figure out a liberal’s logic.
When Janeane Garofalo, with a straight face, can say people who support Herman Cain are racists, untying the Gordian Knot seems like child’s play.
Excellent point.
Phil,
The video has been yanked.
I am not a Christian so I do not have a dog in this hunt but civilized people have some common basic rules:
1. Murder is wrong
2. Eating people is wrong
3. Children should be protected and cared for.
4. A person’s beliefs are not subject to the whims of the state.
There are plenty more but I think we can all agree that there are basic rules for civilized people therefore, Iran is not civilized and should be subject to our wrath
This just reinforces my faith in Christianity. The fact that satan is so afraid of Christianity that he is trying so hard to destroy it. satan does not care if the other “religions” survive, but Christ will be triumphant, and the evil one is trying to prevent that. We know who wins in the end and it ain’t mohammed!
Great. I guess it was just a matter of time (less than one day in this case). Minnesota is one of the major centers for promoting Sharia law in the US, an argument Minnesota blogger John Hinderaker of Powerline has been making for several years.
No surprise that we are heaering nothing from the WH. Remember it was DHS who in a 2009 report said that Christians who believe in “end of times” prophecies and stock pile food are possible terrorists. As for Hollyweird, remember Rosie O’Donnell believes that Christians are just as dangerous as Islamic terrorists.
Rosie O’Donnell is a sad, lost soul. Right now, she is heading for a very bad end. I will pray for her. No really, I will.
Liberals never employ logic, only emotion. And misplaced emotion at that.
What ticks me off is that they get away with declaring a fatwa against transporting alcohol because it promotes sin, yet I have to pay taxes to support a myriad of sins such as abortion among other things and get thrown in jail if I refuse.
Obama NEEDS to make a statement on this, if nothing else! The Pastor is an Iranian citizen, not American, so we have no recourse except to speak out against it. They do to their citizens what they want. Personally, I wish we could get all the Christians out of that hell hole and nuke the whole place. Maybe that isn’t very Christian of me, but it IS human!!
Ilovemycookpot: Wha? Since when?!
If we are going to have a tolerant society, we can’t have a protected class of people who are perpetually offended. That is the whole point of why Islam is incompatible with Western society, particularly in America. We need look no further than Europe to see what happens when tolerant people surrender their societies to the intolerant. They not only politely stepped aside as the barbarians invaded them, they passed laws incriminating defending their cultures.
Those who have no principles they would be willing to die for if necessary probably have nothing to live for either.
Holy Father, please take this pastor and his family in Your arms and give them faith in Your will. God bless them.
Amen.
L
Praying for this brave Pastor and his family.
Oh great. A Soylent Green denier.
Yeah, since when? My cupboards are filled with soylent green. Now what will I do with it? Crap.
Flyover…we posted at the same time!! Two GREAT minds!
That is pretty bad, but then you have the US Supreme court, in 2006, refusing to even hear an appeal out of CA regarding students in a 7th grade class being taught about Islam in school:
+1000
the greatest trick the Devil has pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.
Well of course that is to be expected. Minnesota’s growing muslim community demands that its culture and religion be promoted and accomodated. Employing sharia law is just a part of their overall evangelistic efforts. Oviously, dhimmis in federal, state and local governments agree.
Of course if Rosie O ever sees that post she will probably try to sue you for trampling on her freedom from religion
Sad thing is, these days there are many people that openly acknowledge the existance of the Devil and prefer to do his bidding.
Of course most liberals would only be able to stomach Soylent Yellow
NO ONE can be forced to recite prayers from another religion against their will. NO ONE. I don’t care what the Supreme Court says. My child will not recite an islamic prayer. I would yank her out of that class and have her take an “F” if necessary. But that is not constitutional. It infringes on freedom of religion.
They have been getting away with this stuff for so long, they have ramped it up and now we have awakened! They overplayed their hand, just as Obama is doing. It is going to be hard, but the fight.is.on.

The brave Iranian Christian Pastor will probably die for his faith in Christ. As did many of the original martyrs. May God bless him and save his life. There will not be any help coming from the U.S. Government.
***
We owe Jimmy Carter bigtime for his undercutting and removing the Shaw and installing the evil Sharia government that murders its own citizens at will.
***
And witness the weak (nonexistent) response to the kidnapping and imprisonment of our people there. At a minimum a naval blockade on any Iranian shipping in or out should have been done. If they want to play hardball–our Navy and Air Force know how to bring on a real hurt locker. Without providing any U.S. “boots on the ground” targets. We owe these losers some real big payback for their many years of crimes against us.

Too bad for him that more and more in the world are starting to recognize evil when they experience it. We still have a lot of work to do, but evil will be defeated! We know that for a fact.
Long overdue. Should be done now if we didn’t have a loser of our own in the WH.
It won’t happen on this watch!
First “heard” about this from a Tweet by actress Patricia Heaton. There are some white hats in show biz.
People don’t realize how precarious it is to be a Christian anywhere in the world. If it’s not Hindu nationalists and Muslims coming after you in India, it’s Muslims in Africa, the Middle East, and Indonesia. If it has nothing to do with Islam, it’s an autocratic government like China’s that forces worship underground. In the West, you’re subject to soft persecution for crossing secularist/atheist sensibilities.
It’s amazing to me how more people aren’t outspoken against the horrors of Iran’s theocracy. You’d think the stonings, hangings of rape victims and suspected gay men, lethal attacks on protestors, and persecution of religious minorities–especially Christians and Baha’i–would get more global attention. But mention Israel, a free and relatively tolerant social democracy, and it’s like saying the Lord’s Prayer in front of a crazed demon.
THat, and convincing Mohammed that he was Gabriel while dictating the koran to him.
The United States is guilty of throwing the Iranian citizens to the devil when we wouldn’t stand with them in their uprising. The citizens are mostly good people. It is the leaders who suck. I think that next time we have a chance, we should get behind revolution in that country like we have in so many others that we probably should have stayed out of!
AND, I think we should tell the UN that if they continue to welcome achmadinnerjacket to our soil we will kick their asses out of our country!! I am so tired of that man coming here and having a podium to spew his hatred.
Another reason I wish this got more air time in the BlameStream Media is that it might, just maybe, wake up some people to what “state imposed religion” really means.
When a kid says “God bless you” or a city has a Christmas tree, it’s not requiring anyone to adopt a religion. This Iranian case is exactly what the founding fathers were talking about when they discussed the “separation of church and state.”
careful there, Dexter…you might find other examples for illumination.
Archbishop Dimitri (may his memory be eternal) of the Russian Orthodox Christian church, a world traveled, highly educated man, told me once that personally he knew many, many muslims who were quite willing to convert to Christianity but lived in fear they would be killed if they did. Some do anywhere by the grace of God.
They do use logic. They begin with a basic premise that is insane on its face, and then they employ logic as they argue from that basic premise. Often they employ logic with great precision and intelligence.
That is why it is so important to stick to basic principles and to refuse to accept their insane premises.
It is very much like arguing with a creationist about ‘creation science.’ The creationist will do everything in his power to avoid discussing the scientific method. You cannot let them do that. For instance, you cannot let the discussion get sidetracked into an argument about what the bible does or doesn’t say.
Just keep grinding away at what the scientific method is and why creationism is not science.
The same thing applies when arguing with climate alarmists. Keep the discussion about the scientific method and the failure of the climate alarmists to adhere to the method. Don’t let them argue anything else.
The same thing applies when discussing the existence of God with atheists. Don’t bother thumping the bible, and don’t fall for the science versus religion tactic of argumentation.
Stick to Natural Law. We can all see it. They are in insane denial of it. If you cannot get them to see Natural Law, which is right in their face, no amount of logic is going to convince them. If you can get them to see Natural Law, then they already see God, whether they call it that or not, and you are just arguing points of doctrine about the exact nature of God.
It says heaps about a “religion” if an individual can be killed for leaving, killed for not believing or killed for not believing the right way. If islam had anything really going for it, it would gain converts with a better spiritual message. The promise of those 72 virgins only goes so far. Forced conversion is the sign of a cult.
Well said!!!
Oopps – sorry, should be “anyway” and I proofed it too.
Check out a map of the Persian Gulf. It’s a lot easier for them to blockade our oil than the reverse.
No, Happy. We are not guilty of that.
What we are guilty of is electing someone like Obama, a man who does not represent the kind of people we are.
We elected someone to make the Europeans and the race baiters happy instead of electing someone who represented who we are.
Obama is guilty of abandoning the Iranians, just as he is guilty of turning Egypt and Libya over to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Fixed.
If he were sentenced to death for being homosexual, you wouldn’t be able to shut up hypocritical liberals. Liberals just suck.
Iran already does that regularly.
Still, Ahmadinnerjacket is a welcome speaker to Columbia University.
Go figure.
He’s a Muslim. It’s okay for Muslims to kill gays. Muslims are higher than gays on the Protected Victims List.
Leftists/Democrats/Socialists are insane. Stark raving mad.
Roland said:
“What we are guilty of is electing someone like Obama, a man who does not represent the kind of people we are.”
Absolutely and what Sock Puppets Battle cry should be is:
“Change me, I Stink”
You are absolutely spot on!
That is what puzzles me the most about liberals, and Hollywood in particular, since they are loaded with gays!! How can they NOT CONDEMN Iran and any other Arab country that persecutes homosexuals? The hypocrisy is unbelievable!! There is some screw loose in a brain that ignores reality in order to promote an ideology. Unicorns and fairy dust in their world. The human brain on drugs, folks!
Really? Everyone has a dog in this hunt, whether you are a Christian or not.
PS – there is a Jew in my attic. I’m not Jewish so I don’t have a dog in this hunt – I’d better send them away.
Islam is headed for a reformation. Those in the middle east crying for sharia to solve all their problems are in for a rude awakening when they get to feel the full force of of what it means to have sharia. The secular dictator thugs knew that too much tyranny made the population riot, so they suppressed the religious tyranny. Non-muslims may well be killed in droves like the Roman’s christian games of old. Things will change when the muslims become disgusted at that their religion truly means, carnage!
Praying for this man, for his family and children, and for his release. This story makes me sick to my stomach.
But of course, as other members have already posted – had he shot a cop or raped a 13 year old girl, maybe Hollywood would run to his aide, wear tshirts with his face on them and make movies about his life.
Ilovemysoylentgreen: The hell you say!
I doubt it. When you’re raised to value things and be disgusted by others, you rejoice at the destruction of the things that oppose your values.
Hollywood liberals hate Christian values, so they rejoice when a preacher falls or a Christian convert is executed in Iran.
American nationalists hate terrorists, so they rejoice when terrorists like Bin Laden are captured or killed.
German citizens in the 1930′s were propagandized to hate the Jews, so they rejoiced when their government rounded them up for extermination
Muslims in Iran grow up hating anyone who opposes their prophet, so they rejoice when carnage rains down upon the infidels.
I’m not equivocating between the death of terrorists and the death of Christian converts and the victims of the Holocaust. I’m just saying that outrage human nature is to view people in a “like me = good” and a “not like me = bad” division.
Dear Heavenly Father, please be with this brave man. Please give he and his family strength. Things don’t look good. How I wish that you would perform some miracle so that this man might not die, and to show the world that you are the one and only true, living God. How I wish that you would open eyes, ears, hearts, and minds to your truth. But unfortunately, so many hearts are hard and calloused. If this man will perish, I hope you will show your mercy and grace by allowing him to die quickly rather than suffer, and that you will comfort his family as they deal with his loss. Please help them to feel your presence. Please help them to know that others are praying for them. Please help them to remember that life on this earth is temporary, but that they will be reunited with their loved one when they leave this earth, provided they, too, have received your son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for your many blessings, Father. At this point and time we are free to worship you in the USA, but the day may come when we are not permitted to do so. Please help all believers be as brave as this man, willing to stand for you. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Luke 9:24 – For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. NIV
Go out to the article about this man on Drudge and look the the comments from the Leftists. If you want to see what is at their core, read their comments.
Anything that does not fit their little universe deserves their hatred and death. You cannot even have a diverse personal belief. You are a threat that must be eliminated.
This is why it is so easy to understand how a people as welleducated and advaced as the Germans could butcher 11 million people and feel nothing.

HI TXVET2–#67. Yes–the map shows that Iran can block our oil shipments. However, a few U.S. subs can make it mighty suicidal for an Iranian destroyer to leave port. As the Navy, Air Force, or Army Patriot missiles can make lifting off the runway a one way flight for any Iranian aircraft trying to shut down the gulf.
***
And U.S. Tomahawk Cruise Missiles can hit any site that launches their shorter range missiles or aircraft against oil tankers or U.S. ships.
***
As we destroy the Iranian gasoline refinery and hit their oil pipelines and rail lines in other parts of the country. These actions could also result in a true “Iranian Spring” revolution by the younger people in that country. Lots of them have had it with their “religious” rulers. Something about shooting young lady students in the streets. And Israel would take advantage of the strikes to take out the nascent Iranian nuke facilities.
***
I think the U.S. assets trump any Iranian map advantages–go high tech. Jimmy Carter was stupid not to have employed these tactics against the kidnappers when they took over our embassy in 1979. It was a truly obvious solution to the problems.

Why is that?
And now my last comment, #86, submitted on September 29th, 2011 at 1:45 pm,
only shows up when I am logged in.
What is going on?
This happened to me, too, when I first joined a few months back. I have no idea what caused it, but it cleared up eventually.
On other discussion sites, admins and mods can do what’s known as “doghousing” someone, in which they can see their own posts, but nobody else can. It’s typically used to silence trolls or instigators by making them think they are making their points but without riling up the natives. But I’ve never heard of that being done here, and the very fact that we CAN see your recent posts indicates that you aren’t completely doghoused.
Another possibility is that your posts and cache aren’t loading right, so it’s just a browser error.
huh. Odd how you stuck that in there, considering the topic at hand.

At this point, I can see #86 and #87 both when I’m logged in and after I log out, but comment #11 only shows up when I’m logged in…
I’ve tried refreshing my browser and that doesn’t seem to make a difference.
My comment #11 must be “doghoused” for some reason…
Oh, how wonderful that the White House has issued a statement to condemn the conviction!
Maybe if Iran executes the pastor, Carney’s office will condemn them again!
“Stop! Stop! Stop or I’ll say ‘Stop!’ again!”
They serve the father of darkness.
RedPill…can you resubmit it and we will see if it shows up?
Dear Conservative Christians,
Please fly to Iran today and save this man.
Thanks,
ILMC
Sadly, there is nothing we can do. The Pastor is a citizen of Iran and we have no jurisdiction. We can only appeal to humanitarian issues. And that doesn’t mean much to these scumbags.
1ConcernedMom @#80: In Jesus’ Holy name, I say AMEN.
What’s that they say about blind squirrels?
It’s good they made a statement. But, it should have come out of the president’s mouth, not his press secretary’s.
Obowmao?
He already is! “O death where is your victory, O death where is your sting.”

Drop dead. Is that too harsh? O.K….May your mommy forget to change your diaper and you have to sit in your own excrement all night.
I was suprised to see the WH statement, but am pleased to see that they decided not to sit on the sidelines on this issue. As Happy pointed out, there really is not much more that can be done then issue a statement and perhaps try to put some “political” pressure on Iran (which I doubt they would care about the pressure anymore than they will a statement).
Make me CIC and I will.
