    I would add also that the guy in kent’s video was clearly off his rocker. The OWS kid, on the other hand, was speaking very calmly and matter-of-factly about what he thought the goals of the movement should be. And given that he was so young and apparently rather ignorant, it only increases the likelihood that these sorts of thoughts were carefully put into his head.

    Other than the fact the courts wanted to get rid of the riff raff and stiff the military with them, your comment concering morality and responsibility (or lack of) was the reason the Volunteer Force came into being.     It’s kinda hard to do that if your parents are citizens. Well, even if they aren’t some (bleedin heart liberals) have purposely misinterpreted the 14th Amendment to define the ‘anchor baby’ as a citizen (which is really grasping at straws). Again, I digress.

    If your parents are LEGAL citizens you are a citizen as soon as you ‘pop the chute’ and breath your first breath. (assuming your parents aren’t liberals and have the doc stick sharp scissors in the base of your skull) So, military service as a prerequisite to citizenship is a non-starter in this case.

    In other cases, such as anchor babies, I would consider that prerequisite but there are pitfalls to that as well. What would keep an anchor baby from enjoying all the fruits of this country until 18 and skipping out when the “Greetings” telegram came with instructions to report to the nearest induction center? ‘Skipping out’ wouldn’t necessarily mean leaving the country. There’s lots of places to hide in this country if you have a mind to.

    Did it ever occur to you that legal immigrants from south american countries could be a little over exuberant? If you saw something happening that you’d experienced in the past and were trying to warn people of the coming danger, wouldn’t you feel as frustrated as a fart in a whirlwind due to being ignored?
