Obama: Republican Plan Means Dirty Air, Dirty Water, and Fewer People with Health Insurance

By Doug Powers  •  October 17, 2011 08:15 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

While President Obama has been on his bus/Air Force One tour that is definitely not political, Republicans have been back in Washington plotting how to force everyone to breathe polluted air and drink Ganges river-quality water filtered through used sweat socks, all while denying kids medical care. At least that was the case according to President Obama, who just happened to blurt it out today while doing no campaigning whatsoever:

“The Republican plan says that what’s been standing in the way between us and full employment are laws that keep companies from polluting as much as they want,” Obama said in a speech at the regional airport in Asheville, N.C., on Monday. “On the other hand, our plan [Obama’s plan] puts teachers, construction workers, firefighters and police officers back on the job.”

“My plan says we’re going to put teachers back in the classroom, construction workers back to work rebuilding America, rebuilding our schools, tax cuts for small businesses, tax cuts for hiring veterans, tax cuts if you give your worker a raise,” said Obama. “That’s my plan. Then you’ve got their plan, which is, let’s have dirtier air, dirtier water, less people with health insurance. So far at least, I feel better about my plan.”

In 2000, Saturday Night Live did a version of the Bush/Gore debate, and the Gore character said, “Under my plan, Etta’s prescription drugs would be covered. Under my opponent’s plan, her house would be burned to the ground.”

That was understated satire compared to what’s shaping up to be this election cycle’s reality.

Actually, responsible capitalism has done wonders for environmental protection.

Google Lake Baikal or the Aral Sea and see how that wonderful communism magically helps the environment.

    Again with the health insurance:

Most of the people who are not covered are either eligible for some kind of government assistance or are too rich and don’t want to give their money to an evil insurance company and pay their bills as they come.

You’d think that the left and occupy X, Y, Z would be able to understand that.

How about a plan to put the tens of millions of unemployed private sector workers back to work first?

Re: his “tax cuts if you give your worker a raise”–I’m wondering if Bammy gave his cronies in Illinois an advance on that because several of them, especially in Crook County, have given raises to staff members. But, c’mon, nobody’s tax cuts can save this financially cataclysmic state–the Greece of America.

I just read that the ol’ Flip-Flopper-in-Chief wants to rescind the rescission of the CLASS Act from Obamascare. In my obnoxious opinion, the phrase “class act” appearing in the Obominable Health Care Act is the equivalent of matter and anti-matter colliding and we all know what annihilation that could mean.

We want all people of color to die too, such as Marco Rubio and Herman Cain. Oh, and we want Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin to go back to the kitchen.

    ha ha

Seriously, and obviously, Obama’s comments are simply ludicrous. He was supposed to be the “Uniter,” remember?

At the 2 Tea Parties I was at (and at which Michelle M. spoke eloquently – Milwaukee and Madison, WI), the speakers were of various ethnicities (not that that should even be a factor related to our message). We want a limited Federal Government and Fiscal Sanity so our children (everybody’s children) will have the same freedoms we grew up with. It goes without saying we want a clean environment and a growing economy so we can once again be the land of opportunity.

I know these are cliches, but I guess the obvious truth doesn’t occur to the average Dem out there who might believe Obama’s rhetoric.

Hopefully this won’t be 2008 all over again.

    Pray.

    Based on what specific deregulations?

Why was it MSD that when the Iron Curtain fell, we dicovered the Warsaw Pact nations were ecological disasters? The West was not and is not. Why the difference?

You want a cleaner environment? Make energy less expensive, not more expensive. Want to lift people out of poverty; make the basic necessities, food, water and energy less expensive. Every Progressive policy is designed to drive those proces up. Why?

You want more people on health insurance. Make it more affordable. Start with TORT reform and work your way from there.

When we had more, smaller banks we had more competition and bank costs were lower. I remember the discussions in the 1970′s about not letting the banking system merge into a few large banks. Thanks to Democrats and Rockefeller Republicans, the mergers were allowed. Look what we have now.

The EPA is supposed to protect people, not control them. The Department of Education is supposed to Educate, not send SWAT teams into the homes of students who do not pay their loans. The Energy Department is supposed to promote new energy, not suppress every attempt to develop the blessiongs we have under our feet.

Retired people who have not had a Social Security increase in 3 years so Barack can spend mone llike water on Solyndra have to contend with 40% higher food bills,30% higher enrgy costs, and 20% higher medical costs, all thanks to Democrat policies.

Democrats do not care how many people shiver in the cold, starve, live on hand me downs and skip doctors care, so they can reward those who get them re-elected. You and your Marxist leader can take your vile charges and take a hike.

That’s probably why liberals believe they have to lie, cheat, and steal in order to get ahead…because they know no other way to attain “the American Dream.”

I believe that’s why they think hard-working conservatives attain wealth the same way (but, they know it’s not true)…it’s not fathomable that people would actually have to work hard to make it.

Actually, most companies are environmentally and socially responsible. In fact, responsible capitalism has led to unprecedented environmental protection.

Yes, the Republicans will de-regulate. Why? Because we already have the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Superfund.

We don’t need anything else, so if democrat trial lawyers and elitist politicans want to help the environment, they can grab a trash bag, find a highway or recent OCCUPY protest site, and have at it.

allowing businesses to pollute our air and water, and with healthcare – yeah, that’s pretty much confirmed based on independent analysis of the GOP plan.

    (laughs)

I’d like to see that independent analysis.

Have you seen the protest sites for the occupy X,Y,Z folks?

    Nasty.

    So what’s the issue?

Democrats and liberals trash the place and conservatives and independents clean up their mess.

$5 million in taxpayer money and counting for Occupy alone.

Just think of all the free health care that could go to inner city minorities, women and illegals.

Would you also like figures for the Wisconsin union protests? Or the left-wing rallies in DC?

I would think the outbursts at GOP debates, would confirm this fact.

The only thing even close to an outburst I have seen are comments directed at the lame stream moderators who are trying to get Obama re-elected.

It’s the independents and democrats who are democrat because of tradition, agriculture, education and even labor that we need to focus on.
