Occupy Seattle: Arrests, pepper spray, CNN – “Like a scene out of the French revolution”

An Occupier twitpic of the mob gathered in the rain outside the Seattle Sheraton where Chase exec Jamie Dimon was speaking tonight.
In conjunction with Occupy Oakland’s “general strike,” Occupy Seattle marched downtown to protest Chase Bank and Wall Street Chase exec Jamie Dimon.
A CNN reporter tweeted:
The Seattle Times reports:
Five protesters who had been inside Chase bank were arrested and taken outside to a police paddy wagon. Other protesters began pounding on the vehicle and chanting, “Let them go!” Some people began lying down in front of the van.
Police have used pepper spray on protesters and have closed off East Thomas Street and Broadway. Protesters are handing gas masks to each other and pounding on police cars.
A few scuffles have been seen between officers and protesters, but Seattle police Sgt Sean Whitcomb said he did not know if additional protesters had been arrested outside the bank.
A line of officers has formed about 10 feet from a circle of about 150 protesters in the middle of Broadway and East Harrison. They’re locking arms and chanting, “We are the 99 percent.”
About 4 p.m., they left and began marching toward Westlake Park for the evening protest against Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.
Erin Brown covered some of the police-bashing by Occupiers on scene in Seattle throughout the day.

Good news for the occupy folks. They can finally stop pretending that this was a non violent protest.
Like the French Revolution? Let’s put all of them in the Bastille.
This is going to contine to ramp up until someone is killed or badly hurt. I just pray that it isn’t the police who are blamed, but that these bozos do it to each other. This was so predictable! Will Obama continue to say they are just citizens speaking their minds? What did he say about the Tea Party? I’m not sure it was quite as charitable.
At least the media has stopped comparing these anarchists to the Tea Party!! They can’t get away with that any more!
i know where we can get a guillotine.
The 1968 riots propelled Nixon to victory and the Dems said nothing about the rioters. This time they are cheering them on.
DWS and BHO should take a look at the smelly stuff on their shoes Oh my, just what did you step in?
Can you say:
Martial Law, suspended elections, confiscation of firearms, etc. with Obowtome staying in power indefinitely?
People: PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY.
You’re right, and it should be those that incite the violence.
It isn’t that hard to figure out who’s who: Identify, target, and eliminate. When another coward steps up to the plate and starts inciting, same thing.
The 1% of the 99% should be 100% gone, if it gets violent. (No remorse for anarchist cannon fodder doncha know!)
I certainly would shed no tears for any “Occupy” casualties. Rioting is not right, it’s a choice…and, a bad one at that!
Any attempt to stop our elections will be met with unbelievable resistance. They won’t be able to get away with anything like that, count on it! First of all, the media won’t allow it. Even the MSM doesn’t want that and they won’t let Obama and his ilk get away with it. The occupiers are showing their true colors and everyone knows they are in the minority. The National Guard can get this under control. There is no need for martial law or anything like it. We have a military that is dedicated to preserving our freedoms, and that includes, very much, free elections.
No, they are the 100% nobody’s been waiting for, now.
These OWSers are the worst stereotype of what the other side has become…a mass theater of raving idiots.
Only smellier.
happy, I would put NOTHING past BHO. He has already shown his propensity for ruling by fiat. I have expected him to pull the martial law card out of the deck since he first set foot in the WH. He’s just waiting for his puppet masters to tell him when.
Hey should we get some cake to go with that guillotine?
if you read the story, it doesn’t really work well, so a few of them may get hurt testing it, so leave the cake at home, and bring a needle and thread, a vascular surgeon would be a good thing also.
If things continue to escalate, and this mass-gathering of garbage spills over into the suburbs, the residents of these communities will be able to count on one thing…
A target-rich environment!
I just don’t believe he could pull it off. Our military wouldn’t allow it. And too many people are armed. There would be a civil war if he tried to stop our elections. This bunch of fools who are “occupying” are criminals. They just need a few heads banged together, and a few arses thrown in jail. Breaking windows, raping each other, threatening reporters…this crap will be stopped. As long as they were relatively peaceful, they were allowed to gather. But this is anarchy and the National Guard needs to come in and take care of business. Each state has the authority to call in the Guard and they need to excercise that authority. Obama can’t override that.
Remember all the riots of the 60′s? They were bad, but there was no possibility that martial law would have been invoked. We got through that and we will get through this. However, things will definitely get worse before they get better!
Apparently the tweeting twit hasn’t done much reading about the French Revolution.
Hussein, je t’accuse!
The French revolution featured people that were actually starving!
We have 46+ million poor getting free food at a rate faster than I consume!
We have an OBESITY issue that the White House lists as a major problem.
On the other hand, this stupid storyteller is in dire need of an education as were the French of that time!
Regarding dowager Angela Davis, who was at the NYC protest/free food bonanza at Zucotti Park, the hard core communist activist Ms. Davis was given an adoring interview on CNN by the liberal “journalist” Don Lemon. Mr. Lemon introduced Davis as a “liberal activist”. Ms. Davis is, by her own admission, a communist and twice ran for VP on the Communist Party line. Lemon may have too lazy to do his homework. Or maybe he decided just to ignore little details that might detract from his lovey dovey feelings toward Angela Davis. Lemon also did not mention the little matter of Ms. Davis’s indictment in the 1970s for providing a firearm to a cold blooded killer who murdered a judge with the firearm. Ms. Davis fled after indictment, was caught, and got off because of a liberal California jury. But CNN and Don Lemon wanted its viewers to adore Angela Davis just as much as they adore her. It must be 1960s week at CNN. CNN has been bringing back every crank from the 1960s. Pete Seeger will likely be interviewed by Larry King on Friday night.
And, of course, here they were back then…just a little more organized.
Dumb scum!
And your leading candidate has no idea that China has nukes. You’re boned. Get a real candidate! Link
C’mon kent,
You can do better than CBS. Remember Dan Rather and GW’s National Guard incident?
Okay. Link to the actual transcript from the interview. Here. Still ready to defend the idiot?
Let me guess. It was the 57 states comment that won your Marxist hero the Nobel Peace Prize?
How much longer before your bigotry slips like HarryBailey’s ?
C’mon kent, we know you got it in you.
What? Please tell me what few brain cells are connecting in your head. I just posted a word-for-word transcript and asked you to defend your all-mighty candidate Cain. And you go on a tangent about bigotry?
Are your meds keeping you up? I’m concerned for you.
One more time, a parasite like you is only concerned about yourself. It’s all you know. Nice dodge on the 57 states.
You just gave Obama a pass in the other thread. In regards to Cain’s comments on China not having a nuke, you indicated that maybe he was tired.
So the same could be said about Obama in a campaign, right?
I’m way more concerned about a President/Presidential candidate not knowing about a potential nuclear threat in China than I am about an obvious misstatement about how many states he visited.
Be honest. Which is more concerning to you? If Cain had accidently said 57 states and Obama had said China didn’t have nukes, I’d be all over Obama. This isn’t a ‘gotcha’ question like who is the president of Cambodia. This is real life and Cain has no idea.
The only way you’d be all over Obama, is on your knees and him ready to tee off.
Yes! History DOES repeat itself. Imagine that!
Nice dodge…you didn’t answer my question. Such a liberal tactic to divert from the conversation. I thought I’d get some sort of debate. But your ignorance is supreme.
Night.
I’m not the one that said that Obama was 10 states off of knowing how many states in the union there was, you were Mr 47 States
Where is the GOP leadership raising hell about this??? I know gop leadership is an oxymoron
So is BHO the next Napoleon? That didn’t turn out to good for anybody.
My my, at waterloo napoleon did surrender
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way
The history book on the shelf
Is always repeating itself
Waterloo – I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo – promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo – couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo – finally facing my waterloo
My my, I tried to hold you back but you were stronger
Oh yeah, and now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight
And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose
Waterloo – I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo – promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo – couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – knowing my fate is to be with you
And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose
Waterloo – I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo – promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo – couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo – finally facing my waterloo

When you can name all 57 states or prove you can speak Austrian then I would STFU there snapperhead.
Well, so much for your “independent” status who would consider voting GOP.
If anyone is surprised by this, please raise your hand….. Thought so.
Don’t forget about the “corpse-men” our dear commander-in-chief leads.
I could pretty much guarantee you that at least 99% of these 99%-ers could not even tell you in what century the French Revolution took place.
I doubt many could even name the effin’ COUNTRY where the French Rev. took place.
I was just a toddler in the 60′s so I have no recollection of it. But…this is unlike any administration I recall in my lifetime. This pResident is not at all interested in the good of this country, he only wants to destroy it. He cannot be trusted with any trappings of power.
This is my favorite:
Obowmao: “Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”
Obowmao: I be workin’ hard agin it!
Since Obama has aligned himself with these people, is he not now impeachable?
More like Robespierre.
As far as the French Revolution comparison, all I can say is “Let them eat cake!”

Peter H.
A straight guy who can recite ABBA lyrics? Now I’ve seen it all!
(No offense, Rogue.)

OT, but maybe not: Last night I woke up in the middle of the night – couldn’t get back to sleep, so turned on the tv. Guess what. They were running a test of the Emergency Broadcast System on Cable. For quite awhile. Fine tuning it so that it more readable as the early morning hours progressed.
Yep, they are up to something, and it involves the speech from Oblamo on “Cable” tomorrow.
I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.
FIFY. g-ma
Penn: Not mace, sweetheart. Pepper spray. Sold to civilians.
[snatches canister from Sarah]
Penn: But once you get used to it…
[sprays some into his mouth]
Penn: …it just clears the sinuses!
Neither one is a foreign policy genius in my book (and is why I have concerns about Cain). Cain is laking on foreign policy knowledge as has been seen on multiple occassions. Obama has as well. His administration claimed the Muslim Brotherhood was a largely secular organization. He went into Libya without any knowledge of whom he was siding with (not that Gaddaffi was a good guy mind you) and now there are AQ flags flying in Libya (and Obama has access to intelligence reports). So it seems like when it comes to foreign policy neither Obama nor Cain can is on top of it.
I’m just sick of the 99% number. They don’t represent a majority. If you add up all the protesters in all the cities in the US they would be lucky to count to .99%
Errah “Like a scene out of the French revolution” and just as smelly!
Back in the day that blonde chick from ABBA was hawt!
Rogue has to be straight…his best quotes are from the Three Stooges.
No argument there, cabrerski.
As for me, I find that any Mel Brooks film has a perfect quote for a given opportunity. That man is a genius.

Huh. So that must be why whenever I ask my wife if she wants to watch the Three Stooges with me, she always says “Get bent!”.
Let us not forget this gaff…or, was it?
“We live in the greatest country in the world…I want you to join me, as I try to change it!”
We must assume that he was talking off-teleprompter at the time…or, Axelrod/Gibbs were off their game writing his one liners…
At this point, in Napoleon’s immortal words, “Give them a whiff of grape.”
After all that time together, you think your wife would recognize the overture to foreplay when offered.
I thought foreplay was just yelling “Brace yourself!”?
I guess it beats “this won’t take long…now did it?”
Wasn’t it BHO who said Austrians speak Austrian? Didn’t he also completely flub “God Save the Queen”? So Cain didn’t know about China’s nukes? Well then he can join the Obama administration in wonder and surprise at just what China does have. After all, these are the folks that exclaimed earlier this year, “Heeyyy! China has an AIRCRAFT CARRIER now? What do they need THAT for?” Cain could also visit with Thom Friedman who can school him on the superior nature of China’s form of government in comparison to our own.
This is why it’s so hard for me to take the “So-and-so is so ignorant/nuts/crazy” charge seriously when leveled by someone on the Left because they have a long history of selectively applying the label.
Just this week a Liberal friend at work said, “I can take some GOP candidates but I’m sorry–Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann–esp Bachmann–are just batsh– crazy!” So to test the evenhanded nature of my friend I asked, “And what do you think of Harry Reid? Nancy Pelosi? (I didn’t think to mention Kucinich or Maxine Waters)” and as I expected, he equivocated some by saying, “Well, Nancy is a prevaricator and she’s just being a politician.”
In other words, she’s “just a liar but all politicians lie and of course, she’s not crazy.” This is the type of “equity” you’ll find on the Left most often.
So utterly predictable.
I don’t often laugh out loud while reading comments here… but that did it!
Stephanie Condon, with a CBS affiliate, is not a great reporter, given the headline she posts on this article.
Cain simply left out “continued” capability. He knows perfectly well that China has nuclear weapons, although very few and of a much lower grade than those of ours and our allies.
They most certainly are working on their capability and are also definitely working at building aircraft carriers. That was in the news a few months ago.
Amazing what a little fear (of Cain’s candidacy) can do to people.

How about: Hang on – I wanna try something! Heh.
Those riots were isolated to a few parts of large metropolitan areas. What I foresee coming will be widespread and our second civil war.
OT. Happy, thanks for your words in my defense.
or ‘Do you care if I..OOOoOOoOO!’
Cain? Obama? Real tough choice there for me, Kent.
/sarc off
Likely these riots are a foreshadow of worse things to come. Quite possible coordinated insurrection bad enough for our current federal government to declare martial law, suspension of the election, certain rights, including assembly and private ownership, even mandatory surrender of personal firearms.
This administration is so currupt and determined to shove its policies down our throats, I wouldn’t put any of the above out of the realm of possibility.
They are bat-sh!t crazy, too.
Yeah, and I’ll see pigs flying before my Gov. “Moonbeam” Brown calls in the Guard to deal with these thugs. The mayors wont even have their own PD crack down, I can’t see them calling the governor for help.

Well now you’re just pandering.
A derivation of “Hold my beer and watch this!”.
Gee, maybe it’s just me, but I always thought foreplay consisted of “Hey buddy, what was your name again?”
